We really enjoyed our sailing trip with Captain Bob and his mate (Jake I believe). They were very knowledgeable and great story tellers. We would definitely do this trip again! read more

Our family had a great time with Shawn! Awesome experience and he gave us some tourist tips on where to find the best lobster roll!

EXCELLENT experience! We had such a great sail with Captain Bob and Chloe who ensured our cruise was memorable. Chloe knew many interesting facts about what we were viewing. They always asked if we we felt safe and comfortable which we did. We got to hear all about their sailing adventures and we didn't want it to end! Very impressed with the entire experience. We will be back! 12/10 read more

This wonderful company saved our vacation! We had booked with another company that canceled our sail at the last minute. Our whole vacation was centered around a family sail experience. Broad Reach, Captain Abby and Captain Bob gave us a fantastic sail, along with information about the history and key happenings that was very informative. We would highly recommend them! read more

What an unbelievable experience. Thank you Capt. Abby and Capt. Bob for making this night absolute perfection. Never in a million years would I believe that Maine would become quite possibly one of my favorite states to visit but you guys have made it so. Truly magical night for our family!! The stories of sailing on the ocean, the wine and freshly made lobster rolls, the time you took with our daughter, and the memories you helped us create we will forever be thankful for!!! read more

Very relaxing sail out on the Atlantic coast. Bob and Sammi were helpful, knowledgeable, and fun. We saw cormorants diving for dinner and sturgeon jumping ahead of us. Some folx got to steer the boat as we headed back to the dock. Saw the beginning of a nice sunset. An all around great experience. read more

This was one of the best sailing trips I have went! Bob and Jonathan were great tour guides supplying us with a wealth of knowledge regarding all the islands and light houses. We brought our drinks and snacks on board and they would serve us with them, it was simply the best! 2 hours of a beautiful sail around. The Saco bay islands while watching the sunset. I highly recommend this tour! read more

There were only 3 of us because of booking in late September! It was a gorgeous day. Just a little wind. I got to help with the sails. We enjoyed beautiful views while being given the history and stories of the area, the sights, and lighthouses. We will return to the area to enjoy hiking trails and a light house tour in the near future. The Captain and his wife were so lovely! Many extras were offered...like water, mixed drinks and snacks. We got to experience the "sails", the waves and the tranquil river all in one adventure! Nothing could have made this experience better! We will definitely recommend BroadReach Adventures to others! Thank you for such a wonderful experience! read more

A great day of sailing and learning. We will be back! Thanks Bob and Abby! You're the best!

Lovely couple that runs the company and very knowledgeable about the area. They catered to us with drinks and lobster rolls as well that they had ready to go when we got on board. They were absolutely fabulous with knowing what kind of sailing trip we wanted and gave us personal space while on board. read more

Capt. Bob and Capt. AbbyLynn are your most friendly and knowledgeable skippers around. And, First Mate Ben will keep you comfortable and educated about the area. This is a "Maine" family owned small sailing business that "is the real deal" They work hard to provide you with . 1. A first rate sailing experience. The hospitality let's you feel at home. 2. Will go out of their way to get you the best photo opportunities around Biddeford Pool and Casco Bay. Your family back home will be in awe 3. You get great stories about the history of the area followed by lots of time to set back and rest in the peaceful relaxing sounds of the sea in all her glory. From away or from right here in Maine, this is your people to sail with. Jennifer and Amy Augusta Maine read more

My girlfriends and I began our Maine trip by sailing along the river with Abby and her husband Bob. Be sure to park in the sanded lot by the dock and you'll meet them there! There was another couple who ended up not being able to make it, so the 4 of us were able to enjoy the boat to ourselves! Our tour started out with introductions and a tour of the boat and we were off on our way! We spent most of the night on the bow. Abby was so sweet and prepared the snacks we brought and poured us our rosé. We were so spoiled! There's nothing like being on the water! Abby and Bob were so knowledgeable and passionate about Saco. I enjoyed hearing the stories about the Wood Island Lighthouse. I did get a little sea sick (probably should have sat closer to the wheel area), but Abby was prepared and gave me ginger candy, ginger essential oil, and sea bands. Those remedies totally helped and I felt instantly better. This is a wonderful tour and must do if you're in the area or staying in Portland! I can't wait to sail again with them! read more

Let me just start by saying what an amazing time we had on this trip!! The experience of sailing on such a beautiful boat was truly something special but adding in Abby and Bob was like adding sprinkles on top of ice cream, I got nothing but kindness and true enjoyment from them! Our trip was a morning trip and started with some heavy fog, but they made sure we had the best trip possible, they circled around the island when the fog cleared and showed us everything Saco bay had to offer. When my girlfriend got sick they jumped at making her feel as comfortable as possible with sea bands, ginger, essential oils and quickly got out of the rougher water that was not sitting well with her stomach. I can not say enough great things about this trip and this wonderful couple! If I ever find myself in Maine again, I will definitely be back!!!! read more

We did a 2 hour private charter booked through Broad Reach. The operator was Captain Shawn (MaineTunaFishing.com). Captain Shawn and his crew member were great with kids and it was a fine experience overall (though not exceptional given cost). The low rating is due to the hundreds of extra dollars in cost for the trip booking through Broad Reach vs direct and the very poor description of pick-up locations and their impact on the experience. We selected the Biddeford pick-up option based on the description in the website suggesting this location if coming from the Kennebunkport area. Choosing this pick-up location adds a $70 surcharge to the trip. What was not made clear is that it takes about 40 minutes both ways to get out of the harbor from this pick-up location. Since this was a 2 hour trip, we we were left with about 10 min of fishing and about 10 minutes of pulling lobster pots - for a trip that costs well over $600 including tips. Overall, book this charter directly with MaineTunaFishing.com rather than Broad Reach and do not select Biddeford pick-up for shorter trips. read more

What an incredible sail just post-engagement for me and my fiancé. Bob and Jonathan were incredible and very personable hosts who were more than happy to wait on any of our needs, even while doing anything that had to be done to ensure that we were getting the most out of our sail on the bay. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone, we will definitely remember it for a lifetime. read more

Sailed with them on 10/18/20 and they were fabulous hosts! Knowledgeable sailors and knew all about the area we were sailing in. Don't forget to BYOB and they kept drinks cold and refreshed them when needed so we could enjoy the sail. Would recommend and sail with them again! read more

As part of our 20th wedding anniversary, my wife and I took part in a sunset sail that was thoroughly enjoyable. We shared the experience with one other couple. Captains Abby and Bob Haskell were attentive, friendly, and accommodating in every way. Their knowledge of the history of the region (Saco, Maine) and competence under sail made our experience top-notch. We highly recommend them for your sailing experience whether you've sailed before or are new to ship life. Pack your favorite snacks and libations, sit back and enjoy the ride! read more

This was such a great experience! We did the sunset cruise and it was beautiful! The staff was extremely accommodating, friendly, and informative about the area's history. We brought our own snacks and drinks along with us, and they would go below deck and get whatever we needed for us, so we didn't miss a thing. I definitely recommend this for a fun family activity or date night! read more

Broad Reach sailing was absolutely fantastic! We hosted a gal pal weekend and went out for a sunset sail and could not have had a better evening! What a great time! Two awesome captains, very knowledgeable and friendly. It was too windy to go out in the ocean, so we went up the Saco River. If Jonathan is one of your captains, ask him to sing opera for you. What an extra treat! Kids got to help with the sail and steer the boat. Would definitely recommend! read more
