I never write Yelp reviews, but Green Carpet Clean is exceptional. The service was prompt, the appointment staff was friendly and courteous, and the cleaning staff was thorough. I was away for the summer and my houseguests made a mess of the place, including the carpets and furniture. I needed three carpets and a sofa thoroughly cleaned. They look like new. Because they use green carpet, their products leave a great clove smell. Best customer service: 1) After they left, I realized I also needed an armchair cleaned. They came out the next morning even though the cost of one armchair is technically below their minimum for a visit. 2) That evening the cleaner called to see how the sofa turned out. She wanted to make sure she did an excellent job. I will be using Green Carpet Clean both for this work and for housecleaning in the future. I highly recommend them. read more

I had a great experience with the team from Green Carpet Clean and Housekeeping. The team arrived on time and worked efficiently. They did a terrific job of cleaning 6 area rugs and a sofa. In particular they completely transformed the rug in my child's room which was covered in stains from slime and other strange kid stuff. I hired Green Carpet Clean to clean the carpet in my apartment and the couch cleaners that we hired moved the couch around and the leg of the couch scratched the flooring. They should have been more careful. I wanted them to fix or remedy this bad experience I had. Despite several texts exchanges, calls, and emails, nothing had been done by them to replace or fix the hardwood floor. Very dissatisfied and disappointed in the way they conduct business. read more

I needed my new apartment cleaned before I moved in and booked an appointment with these folks 2 weeks ahead of time. The cleaners never showed and I had to call to check in on the situation. I was told there was an issue and they were going to be 4 hours late. I was understanding and went back home until then. Again, there was no call to let me know this wasn't happening either, I had to call again to check in and was told so. My day was completely wasted because I couldn't move in before a cleaning. They offered me a free half hour of cleaning to compensate and promised that a team would arrive on Sunday afternoon. Never happened. Completely unprofessional and after looking through reviews again this seems like a reoccurring lie they tell customers when they overbook. read more

Happy customer! Before moving to our new apartment, I wanted my carpet to be cleaned with green product. I am not removing dust to get toxic product in my house. Move in: Scheduled both a move in and move out clean with Green Carpet Clean. I had to move the date of the move in clean a few times to work around my contractors schedule. After sharing my need with the receptionist we agreed on a 6pm start time. The cleaning crew arrived late but I received a call around 6:15 advising that they would be late. As my son and husband, went in and out of the house they both commented on how slow the workers were moving and how the gentleman was on his phone the entire evening. After about 4 hours, I asked the crew to wrap up as it was really late and they had not accomplished much. The super lazy cleaning person had the audacity to try and charge me more than what was quoted. Had they done a good job, I might have considered but since I was going to need to hire a 2nd crew to come in and do what they didn't, I refused the higher charge and paid the original amount quoted. I later received a quality control call asking how the service was, at which time I shared my concern. The rep apologized and promised to send the most seasoned crew out on the next visit. Move out: I received a call several days in advance confirming appointment time and date. On the appointment date, no one showed up at the confirmed time. I called the office and got voicemail. Several minutes later someone picks up and says she just got into the office (it's 10am) and didn't realize the crew wasn't there. She put me on hold and said someone had called in. She asked if she could call me back in 10 minutes. I received a text 1.5 hours later advising that the crew was at my door. I mentioned that the door was open, and asked why I hadn't received a call in advance of them sending someone to my house. They texted me asking if I would like to cancel the service and I replied, yes. I texted 3 times asking or confirmation of the cancellation - no reply, 2 hours later I return home to the same lazy azz cleaning crew that didn't do squat on the move in appointment and yes one of them was sitting down and on the phone, AGAIN! With all of the positive yelp reviews, initially I thought I would give them a 2nd chance, regretting that decision in a major way! read more

Good you are reading this. Had this company clean my carpet today. What a joke. They convince you that steam cleaning, like most, is not good. Well, I gave their system a try and still have dirty carpets. They spray some organic water with some cleaner in it by hand across your carpet. Just your basic garden sprayer. Then they have a machine that vibrates. They lay about a 24" terry cloth towel on the floor and then the machines sits on top of the cloth and vibrates and the guy moves it around the floor like vacuuming. The terry cloth is so suppose to just suck the dirt out of the carpet. It did little on the cleaner areas, but when they got to the traffic areas, they could not get them clean. And, they tried, but in the end, they left leaving the carpet not very clean. They knew it and said this was as good as it gets. One hour later, I borrowed a Rug Doctor from a friend and went over the carpet and you could not believe how dirty the water was. I did this as there was no way they could have pulled the dirt out and since the furniture was moved, and so it seemed like a good idea. And, before they left, they spayed more cleaner on the carpet and said this should remove the rest of the dirt after it dries. No sense at all. Nice guys, poor process. Do not use this system. BTW, I read all the Yelp reviews, one of the reason I selected them. Either they are all their friends, or we have a lot of blind people in the area. And, now a few day read more

This company does not understand the first thing about customer service. I bought an Amazon local deal to have the carpets cleaned. There was no mention of any additional fees for living above the second story. When I called to schedule an appointment the rep wanted to charge me and additional $25 because my apartment was on the third floor. I asked to be transferred to the supervisor because there was no mention of this in the fine print of the voucher. The supervisor, who was a real A-hole, only wanted to get me off the phone explained those are the rules because it is heavy equipment that required insurance. (this makes no sense) I explained to him that I have an elevator thus there is no difference between being on the second floor vs. the third. He said it didn't matter and it was for insurance. He told me the parking lot (where are there parking lots in SF?) was more than 50ft from my door, I explained it was not since they could park their truck and unload right at my apartment. He then yelled it didn't matter and I can either pay the money or return my voucher as this conversation has gone on for way too long.... First off, I am NOT a frequent yelper, however my experience was so awesome I actually made an account JUST so I could rave about this guy. I thought my carpet was a lost cause, having been heavily soiled by the previous tenants, but Fari was able to make it like new in the healthiest, environmentally safe way. I will say the customer service was good and I liked the technician who came to clean my couch, but it was a complete waste of $100. My couch literally looks no different, if not worse, from before the cleaning. I understand it is a white couch, with some small stains, and but even if the stains remain the underlying dirt is still there. My couch looks dirtier than before if that is even possible. I don't know if the 'green' clean is what caused my couch to not get clean but I feel like I could have done 100x better with some OxyClean and elbow grease. Very disappointed. read more

I am yelping since I found them on Yelp. Liked the name of their company, figured I should support someone local who emphasizes on green and clean. Also had great reviews. I emailed a request, Fari responded with a cost and time frame. Also called me to verify. The guys came a little later than the stated time frame but they called to notify me, which was no problem to me at all. They showed me how dirty their cloth became from cleaning 3 rooms, means they did a really good job removing dirt left from the previous tenants. The carpet is dark colored, but it looked brighter after the clean. The rooms smelled really fresh. Overall satisfied, will use again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! We contacted Green Carpet Clean and Housekeeping and were told that a regular shampoo of our lobby and two offices would be $150. The cleaner arrived and said shampoo only was $199 but he suggested deep cleaning and that would be $399(we went with the recommended deep cleaning). We asked how long the deep cleaning would take and he said 1.5 hours (which it did) and I asked how long to dry, he said, 5-6 hours (office lobby and 2 offices). We come into the office the next day and there are stripe marks, we could see where he shampooed and there are WET carpets, I slipped walking onto the kitchenette floor. Our shop area is very dirty and we were worried this could ruin the carpet and the shampoo treatment we just received. I called them and was told the following, "We cannot guarantee the carpet would be dry, you have to put something down or something so the area will not get dirty. So I asked, "can we get you guys to come back in if the high traffic area gets dirty?" He said," We cannot guarantee the carpet will be dry it all depends on if the person there listened to our technician on keeping a window open or fan on, I'm sorry I cannot help you." I explained that we have customers and when they show ANY concern, we attempt to make the customer comfortable and assured we can continue business together. He said," I do not like your attitude and what you are telling me and I told you we cannot do anything for you." During the majority of my time explaining our concern, he continued to talk over me. I asked for the manager's name and number, he said "there is no number, her name is Veronica", and as I asked for the technician's name, he spoke over me and he placed me on hold, then hung up on me. I called back and he said "we got disconnected, but we cannot help you, the carpet drying can be different, maybe 5 hours, maybe 10, sometimes 24-25 hours." This company did nothing to make sure we could become a return client, or to even leave an impression or attempt to address our concerns. Very worrisome to know they got paid so much money and are unwilling to even offer any resolution IF the job they did gets ruined. We will NEVER use this company and as a business (from our CEO) " This is an untrustworthy form of managing a customer concern. They disregarded the fact that I was not told any instructions after he was done and instead of speaking to their employee, immediately made this a customer problem and wiped their hands clean of us. Based on the reviews on Yelp I called Green Carpet Clean, also because I like a healthy, and environmentally-friendly cleaning. Fari is a very friendly guy. When he came in with only a few appliances I honestly had some doubts, but the eventual result was amazing. Our carpet was very filthy and looks like new again. We had pre-vacuumed the rooms, but he took his vacuum-cleaner and vacuumed all the edges and ridges. He moved the sofa and other furniture and cleaned very thoroughly. He worked 4 1/2 hours non-stop, even though I told him he can take a break if he wants. The price was very reasonable and for an additional fee he also cleaned some of our rugs. Fari does not only do a great job, he is very dedicated to his work, and does not leave until the carpet is sparkling clean. Definitely recommended! read more

I was very excited about having my carpets cleaned because of all the great reviews on here, but I was very disappointed. If you just need your carpets lightly cleaned, this service might work for you. If you need any stain removal or more dirty areas cleaned, I would very much recommend using someone else. My carpets were dirty for sure, but NONE of the stains or light traction marks came out. I came home and it didn't look like they had even been there. If it wasn't for the smell (which was strong) I would never have known. Now I have to fork out an additional +$100 to get it cleaned again. One last thing, is that I specifically asked how long it would take to dry and I was told no more than 2 hours. Wrong!! It took over 24 hours for the carpet to completely dry, which makes sense, but that is why I asked. read more

We had two very dirty couches and two area rugs cleaned by Green Carpet Clean -- we have two children under the age of 8, so it was not pretty before they got here. But about 3 hours after they arrived and the rugs and couches are almost as good as new. Fari and Jelani arrived on time on a Saturday afternoon (called me when they knew the specific time they were coming), were very friendly and did a great job. I was really impressed with how hard they worked to get the stains out. Finally, the cost was definitely reasonable. Only Con: ------------ I took one star off only because of pricing, especially since in the end, the Plum District certificate I purchased made very little to no difference in the ultimate price I paid. I wouldn't do something like this via Groupon or Plum District again for this reason. So, I still ended up paying more than average market price for a job like this, but I was attracted to the good yelp reviews and the fact they emphasize green cleaning, which is important to me for health and because it's better for the planet. According to Jonathan or Malik (can't remember which), they also said their process uses 1/10th as much water as most carpet cleaners, which is great. Jonathan and Malik were not only efficient and professional but they were delightful guys, the kind of guys that you hope to have on hand when you're having work done in your home.
