This is a bit of a split review. We recently ordered some fabric Hunter Douglas blinds from Ogden Blinds. While the service, install and price were great what happened after -not so much, and that is being kind. We really felt that this was a good company to work with so I referred my mom to them as she was looking for someone to clean her blinds. When she called the person on the phone was beyond rude. She was looking for a quote to clean her blinds and when she called the he(she could not remember their name) said things such as "look lady you obviously don't know much about blinds" and "lady quoting this is not worth my time." WOW!!! I was really disappointed to hear that they could treat someone that way especially after such a nice experience we had. I get if you feel a job is "too small" or you are really busy and do not have the time but be honest and maybe try respectful or at worst nice? While they say they will come to your house to take down and then clean, she even offered to bring in the blinds to them. The reply "lady do you know what kind of store we are"? Obviously only one that wants to take orders that will make them a lot of money. Felt horrible referring her to them and will not do so for anyone else. read more

While Covid delays abounded with my order, Kurt was always pleasant, attentive and sympathetic to the always moving & ridiculous lead time on my order from the manufacturer. But, when my shutters finally arrived, they we installed by the most professional, polite and super clean worker I've seen in a long time. I completely agree with the review below. I would never recommend this company. They were very attentive and helpful during the sale, however when my blinds began falling apart, there was absolutely no assistance offered. Despite the blind manufacturer being out of business, I pointed out in my correspondence with Ogden Blinds that they do blind repair according to their website, however no help was offered in fixing my blinds, for which I paid nearly $3000 for 3 rooms. In corresponding, including pictures of my damaged blinds, below was their response: "Thanks for the pictures. I am not sure what to do or say since Prestige is out of business. I have no recourse through the manufacturer. It looks like the threads have been distressed enough to become unraveled. If there is anything I can think of, I will let you know." read more

I had a Hunter Douglas blackout, top down, bottom up blind on my BR window. It was wide and heavy so I the cords keptbreak. I took them to a place in Aurora a few times to be restrung, costing $100 each time. I felt that I had no choice other than buy a new blind. The last time it happened, I called Kurt because the other place was out of business (no surprise) and he charged me $25 and I got it back in two days. We have used Kurt Ogden three times. Kurt was a professional each time. He came to the house as part of the process of providing an estimate. He brought all of the samples and he made the process of selecting window coverings very easy. He listened more than he talked, and gave realistic timeframes about when the new coverings would be in. Kurt was able to come out to my house the same day I called. By the way, I called at 9:00 am and he answered the phone himself. Our 18 year old Hunter Douglas Duette bottom up/top down honeycomb blinds had major stringing issues, kindergartners learning to tie their shoes probably had less knots than these blinds. He was able to re-string them and make them more level than when they were first shipped by Hunter Douglas. He spent a few minutes on each blind when installing them and making sure they were level in both the top down and bottom up positions. The blinds are great, better than new. Couldn't imagine having to replace all the blinds (6 blinds all double window size). The turn around time frame was perfect for me and I couldn't be happier. I would give Kurt Ogden 0 stars if that were an option. I called him for an estimate to repair my Silhoutte blinds. He arrived and told me he couldn't restring the pull cord and I needed to order new ones which would be several hundred dollars. He took a measurement, told me they would be a special order and would take a couple of weeks. I waited three weeks and called him to check on the status of my order only to find out that he decided not to take the job and order them because I have a valance and side panels that would need to be removed and reinstalled. He never bothered to call me and tell me this. He left me thinking for the past three weeks that I had new blinds coming when in actuality he dropped the ball and never bothered to let me know. My shutters were installed about 1.5 years ago. Within the past month, we noticed that one of the doors (1 of 10) was rubbing slightly when it closed and that there was a bottom frame piece that was damaged. I called and my call was promptly returned and was told they would take care of it. I sent some pictures of the problem. Within 3 days someone was at my house to remove the damaged piece and 5 days later the replacement piece was installed and all problems were fixed. This is the second time I have used Ogden blinds and never would hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
