We can't say enough about Chris, we just loved him. He is all that you require and expect, of course: Courteous, responsive & professional. But he is also all those things you HOPE for: stylish, refined and sophisticated, with a calming voice and flawless delivery. We eloped, planning a simple living room ceremony with just a half dozen guests. This was to be the final event of a three week cruise through the Panama canal. Unexpectedly, we arrived in LA just as the Palisades fire was gaining speed, a very destabilizing event. Everyone involved was understandably stressed, but we kept our wits about us in no small part due to Chris' unflappable commitment. He never wavered, not even for a second, from his task and he made our little elopement an event to remember. He arrived ready to take us through the "paperwork" part, confidently and professionally, then seamlessly switching over to our ceremony in front of the living room fireplace, while fires outside pretty much raged all around us. We were so lucky to have found him and would recommend him wholeheartedly, whether your event be grand or modest, Chris will shine for sure and take the best care of you both! - Amy & Bryce Weber, wed Jan 11, 2025 read more

I'm so lucky he was available on our wedding date! It was so easy to work with him! Always responsive! Took care of the wedding licenses, the service was eloquent and perfect. You could tell that he had a lot of experience and took his role seriously. I loved working with him to edit the wedding script, too! He was the first one on the boat, and I got there way early! I didn't recognize him and was just about to ask the crew to remove him when my bride said, "Did you know that officiant guy is here?" He was very patient with me during this frantic state - always giving me gentle reminders that we needed to sign the marriage license and, of course, pay him! Would highly recommend Chris! read more

Great experience with Chris. Very professional and pleasant to work with. Our ceremony was short but sweet, just like we wanted. He had all the paperwork prepared and ready to go. He made getting married so easy! read more

We booked Chris several months before our wedding, and anytime we reached out, he responded quickly and was always so kind. I didn't expect such responsiveness from one of the most well-known officiants in LA! The long-awaited day finally arrived, and that morning, I felt calm and happy. But I got more nervous as the ceremony time got closer--not a bad nervous, just nervous!! It's a big moment! Chris arrived at our location and we first did the official paperwork. He looked just as professional and great as all his photos. He made small talk with us and laughed at my husband's corny jokes. During the ceremony, he had a great speaking voice. Calming, loving, but also projecting so everyone could hear (we had a small wedding so no mic). We asked him to say one of his vow options but we also had personal vows too. When it was my time to speak, I didn't know who had my vow print-out, but he quickly takes it out of his book and says, "looking for this?" lol Afterwards, I was just so full of emotions, I wasn't thinking clearly and trying to pay him (typically a simple task) was difficult for me because apparently I lost all brainpower to mentally estimate a proper tip. Later when things calmed down, we realized I didn't tip enough, so we sent him more with a note which he texted me to thank us. I'm sure he understands lots of brides and grooms might be a ball of nerves and not thinking clearly when it comes to simple math problems. Chris is efficient, friendly, full of information, and very big on your privacy. I highly recommend him as your officiant in beautiful southern California! read more

We were impressed with Chris from TheOfficiantGuy - he was very responsive to email, and made the whole process easy to understand and to complete. We especially appreciated Chris's calm demeanor prior to and during the ceremony! Would highly recommend for anyone who needs an officiant. read more

Chris is the kindest, most responsive Amazing person in the world and he saved my daughters wedding. Imagine it's a Sunday morning, the wedding is Sunday night and the bride and groom forgot to get the marriage license. Yep, that happened. I knew there was no hope, but saw the information on Officiant Guy and called Sunday morning. I got the answering machine and left a very sheepish message and did not expect a call back. Less than five minutes later I received a call from Chris. He moved his schedule, moved mountains, and showed up to the brides location, completed all the legal necessities and then went to the grooms location and did the same and gave him the legal documents for the wedding! On top of that he was Reasonable! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND OfficiantGuy!!! read more

My wife and I feel so fortunate to have found the trusty 'Officiant Guy' (Chris Robinson)! From our first consultation to our ceremony to receiving our marriage license, Chris was professional, gracious, and kind. If you are looking to plan a small, intimate wedding (like ours) or a big Family celebration, the Officiant Guy is the first and only partner we'd recommend. Chris offers hands-on, personalized service that is shaped by his clients' values, needs, and preferences. He is a truly kind gentleman and a calming presence who made a point of introducing himself to each member of our wedding party. I think this graciousness and warmth are just part of Chris' character, and these qualities are what we remember most about working with him. All this said, here are some of the reasons that Chris delivered extraordinary value in our business relationship. (1) Chris allowed us to schedule our wedding on relatively short notice (60 days prior). And, it was no problem to change our date and venue. If you need to make a change like this, recognize that The Officiant Guy is in demand. But, if his calendar is open, he'll likely update the game plan with no worries. (2) He let us know immediately of an update to State / County regulations and documents that required an unexpected signature within 48 hours (in order to keep our ceremony date in line with his marriage license submission on our behalf). Chris hand-walks all license docs to the relevant County offices, rather than relying on U.S. mail. You never have to concern yourself about these details with Chris on your team. (3) When Chris noticed that one family member attending our wedding had a mobility challenge due to a disability, Chris took it upon himself to engage our loved one and make sure they had any adjustments required for their comfort. Small but important commitments like this are so helpful to a bride and groom who are busy dealing with every other detail. This level of service isn't something you can pay for or adequately describe in a review, but it matters. (4) Chris traveled 70 miles round trip from his home base through 405 traffic. It would be reasonable if he ever needed to charge for mileage, as many small business owners need to do. In our case, this and every service I've described were included in Chris' reasonable flat fee. Referring to our own experience, if you and your honey are hoping for a smaller, less formal, secular wedding, Chris is really the only person you need to call. Again, he's equipped to make your big traditional wedding special. But, in our case The Offiant Guy fulfilled every single request without adding anything other than helpful suggestions. Book him! read more

If you want to get married but don't know where to start, Chris makes it simple and easy. From confidential weddings to officiating weddings, he knows it all and is easy to work with. Chris was fantastic to work with. First of all, he was incredibly responsive. I was always amazed at how quickly he responded to my emails. Even on the day of the event, when we had to move our ceremony to another location due to rain, Chris was super responsive and flexible. Chris helped us find a photographer. We wrote our own ceremony, which Chris delivered perfectly. We had several date changes and location changes during the planning phase, and Chris was so patient throughout. On the day of the ceremony, he arrived 15 minutes early so there was no anxiety. read more

Chris is honestly the ideal person to officiate a ceremony. We found Chris when we were looking for a alternate ways to get married during the pandemic. Wow! We were entranced by the style and scope and sheer number of weddings he has performed all over the place. He can marry you anywhere, anytime. And he will come to you wherever, whenever. Chris was willing to come to the location (we had narrowed it down to two possible places), and he was adaptable and asked to just know the morning of. Chris is incredible. If you're getting married in Southern California, Chris is the officiant to work with. If you're not getting married in Southern California, you should be getting married in Southern California, so that Chris can be your officiant. After much wait-and-see during our engagement (which took place right before the pandemic, nearly two years ago), we had to coordinate all of this last minute from another state, and in less than three weeks. We decided on a last minute guerilla-style wedding at the courtyard of the Ayres in Hawthorne. What an adventure! I still have butterflies just thinking about it. He breezed in, swiftly set up the paperwork for us in our hotel room, married us in a poignant, private and perfect little ceremony just steps outside our suite. He even took a few pictures for us! Chris was reassuring about the venue we were deciding upon. Because he had done so many weddings at so many venues (including the two we were trying to decide between) he was able to confidently predict that there would be no trouble having a quiet ten-minute ceremony at either one. This helped reduce the stress for us immensely. Chris orchestrated everything so quickly, and facilitated everything so flawlessly. read more

Chris was the perfect officiant for our wedding that took place not even 2 months ago! He was professional and personable, explained everything thoroughly, and set up our expectations accordingly. We just received our marriage certificate in the mail on Monday which took 7 weeks from the time we got married. When we first spoke with him, he stated that he goes to the county office to file in person and it would take about 5 weeks that way. If he didn't file in person, it would normally take 6-8 weeks. When I asked him about it, about a month after our wedding, he said it might take up to 8 weeks as they have new people working there and they are all still learning. That was a bit of a bummer as I was hoping to have it back in 5-6 weeks. At any rate, it came in and we didn't have any issues on that end. I would highly recommend Chris to officiate your wedding as he was available to answer questions thru-out the process (via phone or email) and was there early to ensure all of the ppwk and everything was done correctly. Thanks Chris - you were great! read more

Oof I wish I could give a great review considering this man will be a part of my wedding forever but I can't. My biggest regret is not firing him when he showed up and insulted me 15 minutes before I was to walk down the aisle. Everything was great leading up to the event, super responsive via email, answered all my questions, does basically everything for your marriage license, easy peasy and I was so pleased to find someone like this considering I had to cancel our first wedding due to covid reasons. I'll keep this short, and thought about not reliving this since it's devastating and enraging and brings back all these emotions, but I think people should hear it in case you're thinking of hiring him. Had I read something like this I would've steered clear of this officiant. My wedding was in September 2020, and the last time I heard from him confirming via email was 17 days before the event. I reached out to confirm the room number two nights before the wedding and radio silence. No response. When 4:30PM came and went on the wedding day (my wedding was at 5PM and he said he would be there no later than 30 minutes till) -- I had to think of a backup plan if he didn't show up. Tried calling him multiple times and no answer. Still no response to my emails I had sent. He finally showed up about 15 min. till... No apologies for being late... the first thing he did was come into my room, point at my face and ask "what happened?" When my reply was "nothing", he said he thought I got a black eye. Let me rewind -- and reiterate -- i was in full hair and makeup for my wedding. I was 10 minutes from walking down the aisle. I felt happy and beautiful and was ready to have this amazing life changing event. And in one second... this man, the OFFICIANT TO MY WEDDING, destroyed it completely. What kind of a person does that? Like I said -- biggest regret was not firing him on the spot when that came out of his mouth. I am someone who has a prosthetic eye and have lived with people like him my entire life, but I have never been insulted like this. EVER. And that's saying a lot considering I've lived 30 years with a birth defect. Then the icing on the cake was he emailed and called the very next day asking where his money was ... so I guess his email did work and so did his phone. Do yourself a favor, look for someone else. This guy is a monster. Also -- since I'm here... I was pretty disappointed in his performance. For someone who has such good reviews and prides himself on being an officiant to many people including celebs, there were a lot of line flubs. He had our program months in advance so there really is no excuse. I work in television casting and ... had that been his audition... would have been a swift thanks for coming and no callback. read more

Chris is an absolute Gem! I planned my dream wedding in less than a month. I called several officiants, but after our very first conversation, I knew he was the one! On top of his pleasant and warm phone voice, he was very easy to talk to and took the time to answer all my questions. Also, an added bonus, he's handsome! We all want a handsome well groomed officiant in our photos, right!!!? I was also probably a small pain in the a$$ because I changed the date 3 times, and the venue twice. But it didn't bother him! Chris is amazing. Bottom line. From start to finish Chris was helpful, patient and professional. He was along for the ride for about 11 months of my planning as I changed my wedding location twice and never once gave off the impression that he was annoyed and kept all the details straight the whole time. We opted to write our own ceremony and Chris delivered it perfectly with the right comedic timing, pauses and emotion. Our family thought he was a friend we had known and not someone we met for the first time on our wedding day because he's so easy to get along with. Even with all the madness surrounding a bride as she gets ready for her wedding, he remained cool, calm and collected. To say I was impressed with Chris is such an understatement. He helped me with any suggestions or recommendations I asked for (I mean he KNOWS SoCal so well) and has been available even now after the wedding for any questions I've had about the legal process and paperwork. Oh! The paperwork! Having him issue our license and file for us was such a lifesaver. He's a dream and I'm still trying to figure out how you can get so much from one person.
