Excellent!! I highly RECOMMENDED. Phyllis is an amazing coordinator! She is very organized and gets everything running smoothly! She will not waste any time in any of your meetings because her focused goal is to make you and your fiancé have the best day of your life! Having a busy schedule, I appreciate her timeliness, personable character, easy to work with and highly experienced. *** EXPERIENCE, EXPERIENCE, EXPERIENCE is EVERYTHING! (I have seen things fall apart in my other friend's weddings and it was because of their coordinator's lack of experience or professionalism). Phyllis has the experience in working with the Bride and Groom. She is the perfect wedding coordinator! She will make sure all the details in your wedding, vendors setting up, break down, details to your sweetheart table, ceremony and everything runs smoothly. I had so many details and tasks that I wanted done. She took it and went above and beyond to make our day run so smooth. The most important thing on a wedding day is not to worry about anything. I knew 100% that Phyllis, our coordinator, was going to manage everything. The reason why is because she will review your entire day timeline and will be hands on with everything you need as a bride. My husband is very organized and a detailed individual when it comes to managing a team, so to have a coordinator match that level is beyond our expectations. As a couple, my husband and I collaborated with her and worked together with her on what we wanted done. Phyllis provided us tasks such as creating a list of items that we wanted to retrieve at the end of the night (I.e. ceremony decor, sign in table, wedding gifts, canvas painting, our pictures, candles) and she went through all the items at the end of the night to make sure we received everything back. I was so impressed! She is professional, well experienced, great communicator with the vendors. She will prep with you everything that needs to be addressed up until the wedding day. She knows how to adjust, be flexible, and work right on the spot if things need to be done. She is quick and efficient. Everything you need with a coordinator! She will do a last communication to finalize details with the vendors closer to the wedding date so the information will be fresh in their minds. My entire wedding party was able to focus on taking care of me (the bride) and my needs while I didn't have to worry about any vendors or events in my wedding because I knew Phyllis was going to handle it. Also, Richard her husband stepped in to help when needed. ***There's a lot of leadership and taking initiative in this team, which I highly respect when you have a lot of money and time invested in the production of a wedding***. I am so impressed. Also, my ladies and I did a surprise dance for my husband and we pulled it off because of Phyllis' communication with the DJ and photographers. And ladies, she fluffed my veil perfectly right before I walked down the aisle. The details matter! 100% highly recommend, especially after having a really elegant wedding and everything run smoothly.

My husband and I had a very specific idea of the draping we wanted for our wedding reception, and up until about 6 weeks before the wedding we still hadn't found someone who could drape our venue the way we wanted. I found Phyllis on Yelp, emailed her, and received a response within the first 24 hours. We met at my venue and she gave me a rough estimate. We originally had a vendor for linens, but Phyllis offered to match the estimate they gave us, so we got our tablecloths and chair covers from Machs, too. There were many things I forgot about in the planning process, but Phyllis always made sure all the details were in order. Even when I realized about 3 days before the wedding that we needed an extra 10 tablecloths, Phyllis came through. The reception was absolutely gorgeous, and everyone commented on how our venue was completely transformed. On top of giving us exactly what we wanted for our reception, the price was the best we were ever quoted. If you go with Machs Party Studio, you won't be disappointed.

MPS events was one of the recommendation by our venue and my wife and I are glad we picked them. Phyllis and her team did a great job coordinating everything for us. Like most wedding there may be chaos and delays but have no fear with Phyllis leading the way. At first we only hired Phyllis to be our wedding planner but as we talked more in detail we ended up using them for up lighting, chair covers/sash, slideshow projector, photo booth, DJ, Emcee, and officiant. If they had more services we would have probably gotten it from them too. Needless to say, it felt good knowing everything was in good hands and everyone was on the same page during this special day. So if you have a wedding or any party event coming up, consider MPS events as your planners. You'll be glad that you did. Thank you Phyllis and Richard for all your hard work.

Wow, where do I begin!! Let's start with how amazing Phyllis is! My wife and I decided to go with Phyllis as our wedding officiant primarily due to her being fluent in Mandarin. However, we very quickly realized there's so many more amazing things about Phyllis than just being fluent in Mandarin. Phyllis patiently and thoroughly answered all 5,325 questions we asked (I am exaggerating about the number of questions, though we did ask a lot). She gave wonderful insight and suggestions as to how our wedding ceremony should flow. Phyllis came up with a creative idea for me to say my vows in Mandarin which was a huge hit with our guests since I only speak English and Spanish, not Mandarin. In me and my wife's opinion, the highlight of our ceremony was the guests laughing at my attempt to speak Chinese and little did Phyllis know, we were all for the comic relief during the ceremony, so her suggestion was PERFECT! She made us feel so at ease the day of our wedding and many of our guests said so many great things about her and how well she officiated our wedding! Do yourself a favor and hire Phyllis as you will not regret your decision. It is not a coincidence that she and her company has a perfect Yelp rating! Phyllis, my wife and I sincerely appreciate all you did to help make our wedding day a huge success! We can't thank you enough for that!

From the beginning, she provided us with all the right tools and guidance, giving us appropriate questions to ask vendors, reviewed contracts, and shared insightful feedback that really helped us make informed decisions. She was never pushy; instead, she offered suggestions based on her expertise while always empowering us to shape the wedding in our own way to truly make it OURS. We had some pretty unconventional requests, and she never hesitated to support us. We genuinely felt heard and cared for the entire time. Queenie kept everything on track with structured meetings, a shared Google Drive, spreadsheets, checklists, and timelines that even we (as Type A people) found incredibly helpful. She was always available to answer questions or provide updates, be it by text, phone, or email. As the big day got closer and things became busier for us, Queenie stepped in even more to coordinate with vendors, troubleshoot logistical issues (like creatively solving our catering parking situation with a carpool plan!), and make sure everything was good to go. And then the day of! Queenie and her team executed everything flawlessly! She kept us on track of our timeline without ever making us feel rushed (you hear of the day going by so quickly so often from previous couples) and the entire day flowed beautifully. Honestly, we've heard so many couples talk about the behind-the-scenes chaos and hiccups of wedding days but with Queenie, there was none of that (during, behind the scenes, OR after). Everything was just PERFECT. It was the most perfect day and tbh, we were shocked that we DID that, and we know we owe so much of that to her and her team! We had no idea what to expect going into this, but Queenie is truly a gem and ensured an amazing experience. Not only did she emcee for the evening, but prior to the day of, she made sure we had a detailed timeline leading up to the wedding, fun game ideas (that our guests couldn't stop talking about after), and a smooth and coordinated experience with Norm. Though my husband and I went into every prep meeting feeling a little chaotic, we always came away with clarity and renewed excitement! The day of is where both Queenie and Norm really shined. Norm was a master at reading the room and keeping the music and energy lively. His attention to detail with his set up ensured everything worked smoothly. Queenie continued to shine and amaze as the night went on. Even with multiple obstacles and even some points of tension throughout the night, she went out of her way to smooth things over and keep the show going. We don't know how she did it with the random things popping up interrupting our detailed timeline, but we are so grateful to her ensuring we got every experience we wanted for our special day. The only caveat to that is we had to sacrifice a little of our dance time. We know Norm would've kept that party going late into the night if we were given the chance. Still, we had the best time and a memorable night. If weddings were more than a one time thing, we'd be booking the both of them every time!

My wife's bridesmaids paid for Liz, Daniel, and an assistant to work our wedding as a shower gift…read more I know the price though and I can say with certainty that it was WELL worth it and is something I would gladly pay for myself in hindsight. We got married at Cravens Estate with 200 guests. Cravens is (or "was" since we were told ours would be the last wedding there; damn those snobby, rich, complaining neighbors!) a venue where you bring everything yourself -- food, booze, tables, chairs, musicians, servers, etc., so as you can imagine there is quite a bit of coordinating that had to be done. Liz's team met with us several times in the six months leading up to our wedding. We had some minor snafus nailing down meeting dates/times because they were coming from out east and we live close to Santa Monica, but we made it work. Our venue added restrictions seemingly every month thanks to those pesky neighbors, and Liz and Daniel were good about brainstorming workarounds with us. As for the big day, everything went great. They basically took care of everything that we were too busy to check on ourselves, and I'm sure they were running around monitoring details as my wife and I rested/socialized/ate/drank/took pictures. Funny story, we actually had forgotten our ceremony candles, and Daniel took off for the nearest mall about a half hour before our ceremony to get us something that would work and came back all out of breath just in time. The effort was much appreciated. They kept things moving and on schedule but also were able to give us an extra minute or two with a table here or there. I brought a few blank checks to the wedding and used one to extend Liz's team a couple more hours. All in all, I highly recommend their services! The peace of mind alone makes it worth hiring them.

I got married on 10/6/12 at the University of Michigan football stadium (aka the Big House)…read more I'm from california and I knew Liz and Dae Gun were good so I hired them to do my wedding in Michigan. They agreed even though they were unfamiliar with the Michigan territory and our venue. We had to also communicate through skype & google chat. Liz's assistants designed and printed our invitations and programs (a separate addition I paid for). I was very picky/specific with the way I wanted them --- football ticket style invitations and foam finger looking paper programs. Everything came out SOOOO perfectly. They did it in a manner so that it was still classy, feminine and cute yet sporty. They are so talented. People even asked if they could save the invitations and email us their rsvp instead of ripping the ticket stub. As for the wedding coordinating, Liz is very very meticulous. Even my venue and vendors were impressed and commented that they have never seen such an organized and detailed timeline. She wants your wedding to be as perfect as possible. We met via computer 3 times where we went over the timeline and other questions she had for us. She asked questions I would have NEVER thought of. She covers everything from the day before to the end of the night so that you come and leave with everything. I am very impressed with the organization of This Is The Day. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. I didn't know of any problems at all. My husband and I were so stress free. We just did everything they told us to do. Our MC had stage fright and ended up not making the flow as smooth, Dae Gun/Liz stepped up and guided him to make sure the flow of the reception went smoothly. Also, the day of, we found out we had to do the korean ceremony (pae bek). Liz and Dae Gun fit it into the schedule so smoothly. No one knew how to put on the head piece of the hanbok and the male hanbok, but Liz and Dae Gun did. They also guided us through the whole pae bek. They are amazing and obviously very experienced. The fact that they were in a different state didn't alter their skillsets at all! I don't know what I would have done without them. THANK YOU THIS IS THE DAY!

She scheduled check-ins with us to help keep us on track and reduce stress as much as possible. She coordinated with all of our other vendors to make sure all the different teams were on the same page. Kimberly was the glue that held our big day together and without her, our big day wouldn't have gone nearly as smoothly without her. What really stood out was how much she cared--Kimberly treated our wedding like it was her own. She came prepared with solutions to any issues that came up and always kept our budget in mind. Her suggestions were always thoughtful and curated towards what she knew about us as a couple. She never suggested or pressured us to go in any specific direction, and wanted to always make us feel comfortable in our choice. If there was any opportunity for her to alleviate our stress or take some coordination/work off our plate, she always offered to step in and take over. She truly went above and beyond every step of the way. On the day of - Kimberly ran the entire show seamlessly. From the photo booth to our ice cream bar, she coordinated it all while making sure the rest of the reception went smoothly. All of our activities and scheduled items moved along without skipping a beat. We're so thankful for everything she did to make our day stress-free and unforgettable. She thought of the little things that I didn't even think of. Like pins in case something happens to my dress and a tide to go. On the day of, she had everything planned so that I wouldn't have to worry about anything. I was able to have fun and no one bothered me that day. My wedding even had 2 extra people show up that weren't invited, but Kim was able to figure out the seating without having to ask me. I would highly recommend her for anyone planning a wedding. She really is the best!

As someone who can be extremely indecisive, she helped make all of our decisions much easier. Rachelle was also very conscientious about helping us stay within our budget. She never made us feel pressured to spend more than we were comfortable. One of the most helpful things was her inventory of complimentary wedding items--things like table number signs, a card box, and other beautiful decor pieces we were able to borrow, which not only helped us save money but tied everything together perfectly. On the wedding day, Rachelle was a calming and grounding presence. She ensured everything ran seamlessly and that we were completely free to enjoy the moment. We had a Chinese tea ceremony during the morning and she was very patient with our traditions and super efficient getting everyone ready to be served tea next. I-Jou is truly amazing at what she does and helped bring our vision to life. She is incredibly thoughtful and made sure we were well taken care of every step of the way. During our welcome photos, we were sweating, and she continuously checked in on us, bringing water and drinks and even saving appetizers from cocktail hour while we were busy with photos. When we were at our sweetheart table, she went to grab us drinks from the bar and even brought us desserts from our dessert bar! I-Jou knew the right questions to ask and overall we felt well supported throughout the whole wedding planning process up until the end of our wedding day. Because of her, I was able to truly be present and enjoy my wedding day without a single ounce of stress! Which is very rare for me because I am an overthinker and stress over the little things. Since she already has a working relationship with them, they are typically equally easy to work with. 2. Especially for vendors she's familiar with, she can quickly follow up with them, staying in the loop when we have questions and sharing her own experiences and suggestions from working with previous couples. 3. She understands Chinese/Taiwanese traditions, which made it a lot easier to us to work with her since we needed to preemptively identify pain points and important unique to our culture to avoid family headaches. 4. She had a great attitude even when our requests were vague (mainly when we aren't sure of what the exact solution is and only have a rough vision/idea of what we want) 5. She handled day-of stressful situations with grace and had great backup plans ready when things went wrong. 6. Despite being busy, she is very responsive when we need her. My suggestion for couples (in general when working with any wedding planner) is to be proactive and do your due diligence with vendors and the wedding vision. Treating the working relationship as a partnership. Doing your own research about vendors and wedding day formalities will really save you time and help fill in the gaps. Don't hesitate to ask questions when you're unsure about timelines and what is "typical" in a wedding.
