2 stars because I did find the office furniture I was wanting at a somewhat reasonable price. However, upon delivery (quite heavy boxes) only one man showed up and after opening up the boxes several pieces were damaged/cracked/splitting. The store passed me off to another number which only offered to have me email the company. Customer service gone wrong. read more

I really am not a fan of Office Max. I guess I had a little fight with them regarding a special order a few years ago and still hold that against them. This is pretty much the last office supplier on earth I visit, but today I got lazy and stopped here because it was more convenient. Well, I got what I needed. I guess that's a good thing. I was hoping for some better sales with Back to School, but it wasn't happening that day. When I got to the check out, the girl had just walked away from her register to go draw a picture on the window with a marker, so I got the pleasure of waiting for her Arts & Crafts time to get over to be able to pay for my stuff and leave, but I lived through the whole ordeal without a verbal altercation, so still like 100x better than the last time I was there. Don't bother going here. I tried to buy an office chair. I asked the first "customer service" person if there was any specials or sales. He said "no not really" and walked away. I found one I wanted to buy but clerk informed me out of stock and floor model not for sale. He did offer to order and would take 8 days. No need to go here. Not going back to this location again... went here a few months ago to see if they had the supplies I needed for my business. I had my backpack on since I took my bike on the otherwise beautiful day, and understand I can't be too surprised if it looks the wrong way in the store. After an employee said he was sent by his manager to make sure I wasn't putting anything in there without paying I showed him to ease the tension but it didnt stop there. He asked at least another 20 times if I was ok or needed help and bothered me way more than normal for the half hour/hour I was looking around to see if the store had what I needed. I ended up only getting pens after being disappointed with inventory selection and on my way out the manager hit the alarm button as I walked through the sensors. It is confirmed she manually sounded the alarm because as I walked back through again and again as she walked towards me unchanged from the first time nothing happened. She had police officers waiting outside and they held me for no reason even after seeing I only had what I paid for and made me take a breath test of all things (I blew 0.0) before letting me walk away. Such a waste of my time and such an unnecessary stress. Not sure what is wrong with the people here. read more

Good location right off the freeway in Merriam. Large enough store with 99% of what you're going to need in the way of office supplies and plenty of what you don't need in the way of candy or lame books :-) read more
