I ordered a special table on line, and they had it in stock on sale. I chose this store as the pick-up location because it is close to my house. When I arrived at the store I went to the cash register. There was a short line, and when I explained I was here for a pick-up, they told me my order is ready. The table was quite heavy, so a store associate helped me by bringing it on a cart to my car and then helped me put the table into my trunk and secure it. I needed some string, and they sold me a spool of string, which worked out great. I would order on line and pick-up merchandise at this store again in the future. read more

There is not a whole lot to say about office max haha, but I have been to this location on multiple occasions. The place seems to always have the bare minimum of staff, one person at the cash, one at the back for printing and one in the aisles. No one is there to greet you or assist you or anything like that. It's possible that I have gone mostly at down times and not busy times? Not really sure. The store is clean, organized well and has clearly labeled aisles. On this occasion, I actually ordered something online before I went to the store to pick it up. My order was ready within the hour I even got a text message and you don't even have to speak to anybody when you go pick up your item (pre-paid). There's a giant red pick up box on your way out after you pass the cashier and all pre-ordered items are in clear bags, labeled with your name, and on hooks. You just grab your order and go. We do a lot of printing here for work and I'm often in picking up ink. With the coupons and points earned, we save a fair bit on ink. The printing quality is good and you can compare the in-store print price with the online price to save as much as possible there. You can also get print coupons if you're on the email list. If you're looking for a one off, it may not be the cheapest, but if you buy in you do okay. Staff has always been friendly and helpful to me. If I ever have an issue they have always been able to resolve it. They also don't some quick turnarounds for me on last minute printing. As options for office supplies in Buffalo dwindle, this is a solid option. FedEx kinkos is down the street and they have student discounts, so you can try there as well if you're a student. But if you're looking for business stuff on the regular, this will work. read more

I come here to get my Epson 645 cartridge's for my printer. They have a nice selection. I've never needed any help for anything, but if you need a printing cartridge, OfficeMax is a decent option. They also sell computers, scanners, office equipment, chairs, etc and a plethora of other things. I've only bought some paper and printer-related equipment and have been satisfied. They have a much higher selection of cartridges than nearby shops. One time, I believe I had some stuff printed here as well and they did well with the printing with a quick turnaround. read more

Multiple Choice So I came here for a few things recently. Easy parking. I found what I was looking for and went to the checkout line. There was one line for two cashiers. A) Neither cashier was efficient. B) There was a computer issue. C) There was a discrepancy in pricing for one of the customers who was waiting for that to be resolved (requiring other employees, and changing registers for the two cashiers) D) There was a fairly new person working. E) One of them took a call (work) while checking out a customer. F) All of the above. Yep, you guessed it - F. Which stands both for "All of the Above" and "Fail". Yikes. The line quickly had 6 people waiting. All of us with perhaps two things. Standing and standing. Other employees were there, we saw them, but no one was called to the registers. The employee checking me out (FINALLY) was on a call, and was talking both to me and the caller. I had no idea when he was addressing me. I finally said "Ill wait until you are done with the call". But WHO TAKES A CALL WITH 6 ON LINE AND 2 BEING HELPED? He then said he could multitask like an expert. Hmmm. This is the closest place to me to get any printing done so if my printer runs out of ink before I've had a chance to adjust my HP order or I need something bigger than my little home office printer can handle, I order prints from this place. Quality of printing is fine. But where they get stars knocked off is service and speed. I am not referring to custom work that has to be sent out; I'm talking about basic things like letter sized black and white print outs, ledger sized flyers, etc. They tell you when you order the prints online that it takes about two hours. And yet, I've never managed to get anything turned around the same day. I don't recommend getting anything printed here unless you can wait. You're also not likely to be greeted with any level of friendliness, either. But if you can wait a day for your copies and don't mind lackluster service, it's a fine establishment. read more

When I went to purchase they were out of stock, but they ordered it for me and put it together within 3 days. When I came into pickup it was waiting for me by the front. The quality of the paper is much better than other generic brands. Staff are generally helpful and efficient. Word of advice, stick to your "list" or you'll end up with more things than you need. Front of the store staff is terrific. Staff in the services center can be hit or miss, maybe due to understaffing. I am in the store right now, standing at the services counter, & the guy who is (supposed to be) helping me just up and left! He said "i need to go up front for a minute" and took off. NOT GOOD. If you've seen one OfficeMax, you've pretty much seen them all. They have a decent selection of home office electronics, office furniture, plus some cameras and scanners--and, of course, lots and lots of papers, pens, folders, etc. When I come here, it's almost always to use the copy center at the rear of the store. I've been pleasantly surprised at the prices, available services, and knowledge of the staff every time I've needed a job done. In most cases, I can stop in with a flash drive containing my files to be printed and be out the door with my copies in ten minutes. At back to school time, the sale prices are also pretty ridiculous, so it's a good time of year to stop in here and stock up on Sharpies, binder clips, and all my other office essentials. read more

I'm helping my tattoo artist get ready for the art festival this weekend. Part of that includes having his pen and inks scanned to a cruiser, so if he sells the original he can always make prints. So yesterday, we (his daughter and I) go to Office Max, we have 24 pen and inks scanned. Except. The employee, Nick, I think they said his name was, scanned them as PDF files, which are useless to a piece of art. And somehow, in the process, "moved or deleted" 32 other files. So my artist went out and bought a whole new cruiser, so Round 2 didn't end up deleting more files, and fished out the 32 pen and inks we needed to scan again, and this time, his wife and I went to Office Max. We told them what happened, and all of a sudden they couldn't scan his art because of the "sexual nature." We've been going there for years. Let me start by saying, generally speaking, his art is not sexual. He is, among other things, a horror artist. There is nudity in his art. Nudity is not sexual in nature. The manager, and then store manager, didn't look at the context of his art before they declared it sexual. It was THEM that sexualized the nudity in his art. The store manager, when he finally, and reluctantly, agreed to rescan the art for us, opened the box of deleted files, picked up a piece that is in fact sexual, turned to me and said, "This seems sexual to me" or something like that, to which I informed him, that was something they scanned for us last year. They went out of their way to not help us after they destroyed our files and wasted our money. Yes, they finally helped. They told us there was no way they could get it finished tonight, with 5ish hours until close. We need to be ready to set up by 7am tomorrow morning. We called FedEx before leaving the store, spoke to a guy name Johnny. He said they could do what they could, based on how many pen and inks we thought we had, (at this point we had not counted the pen and inks that needed to be rescanned) and to come on in. So we found the store manager and got my artist's art back. FedEx was busier, with less help. Still, they were respectful of us, and didn't make any judgments of his art as they looked at it, just talked with us about what we needed. They were patient as his wife called him because they couldn't scan the file type he wanted, and we figured out an alternative. They even called us when they started it, because the guy working (maybe Johnny?) had tried two different file types, and found that one of the ones we rejected actually gave better results, you got more detail. We paid twice to have the same 56 artworks scanned. FedEx had it done in two hours, and now our art show preparations are back on track. Office Max, zero stars. FedEx, 173 stars. read more

I went in looking to purchase a gradebook. After wandering around looking for a sales associate, I went to the printing section to ask where to look. I was directed to the "school supplies" aisle, which only contained Crayola products, and the "business supplies" aisle, which contains pads of job applications, receipts, and the like. Aa a graphic designer, office supplies excite me!! I could browse/shop for specialty papers and tools for hours! But sometimes I just don't have that type of time. This location is in a nice spacious plaza, kinda tucked away to the side. I really wish that they had more stocked at this location and more options. But if you're in a mission to pick up something that you specifically know is there then you'll be fine. This location also prints. My church uses them especially for banners. If you're headed into OfficeMax you pretty much know what you need. This was my first time heading into this location and I was not thrilled about it. I have been to other establishments in this plaza, Target, Moe's, Anderson's, even the Delta Sonic nearby and have felt in the past that the customer service standards in this area, for some reason, are much lower than other areas. This is not the case inside OfficeMax at all. From the beginning to the end of my experience, this staff was wonderful. There is plenty of parking. I was greeted warmly at the door as I entered. I knew the product I needed but unsure of which to choose out of many. A sales associate who I later found out was the manager on duty, Dave Newman, must have either passed me twice realizing I had been standing in the same area for a bit or saw the unsettled look on my face. He stopped, asked me what my needs were for the product and helped me to find the perfect one, quickly! At one point he was called away to help another customer but came right back to be sure I had what I needed. The cashier had a little trouble with one of the computers but moved me over to another line and was able to cash me out right away. This will be my preferred OfficeMax location going forward. read more
