I just had an excellent customer service experience. My mom purchased two identical rectangular…read morepillows from Room, both stenciled with the word "Buffalo" and the coordinates of the city (latitude and longitude). She gave one pillow to my dad and the other to me as Christmas gifts. Shortly thereafter, we discovered that the paint used to stencil the letters and numbers on the pillow was water soluble and wiped off with a damp paper towel. It would have been impossible to wash or even spot clean the front of the pillow case without also removing the stenciling. Today, well beyond the 14-day return policy stated on the receipt, my mom and I brought the pillows back to the store to see if there was anything we could do to protect the paint on the front of the pillow case (Scotchgard wasn't going to cut it). As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by an associate. We briefly explained our concern to the associate, and then without even batting an eye or even checking our receipt he apologized, stated that he was unaware of this issue, and immediately offered to exchange the pillows for other merchandise. We ended up selecting different Buffalo-themed pillows. Room offers beautiful contemporary furniture and home decor, and after spending time looking around the store and observing the quality of their merchandise, it's obvious that the faulty pillows were an anomaly and in no way typical of the products sold by Room. My mom and I were both impressed with this customer service experience and appreciate the attention we received.

How many times have I driven past Tesori and said " that place looks adorable I have to stop in…read morethere" .... countless! But I finally did stop in there and it is adorable!! And it's eclectic with vintage, modern, antiques , collectibles, art work and furniture. So many things your eyes simply don't know where to look. The kind of place that makes it very difficult to carry on a conversation with someone because you're looking at so many fun things that you forget what they asked you! The owner was absolutely welcoming and just charming. There was a fire in the fire place that invited you to sit and look around and keep jumping up to get something else you simply couldn't believe you found. Every nook and cranny had a treasure. Some were from estate sales, some were on consignment, some were from local artists. I can't imagine not being able to find just the most unique gift for someone or for that shelf in your home. I couldn't resist a vintage train case! The owner also told us that new items are constantly being added and so it's the kind of place that you would never see the same thing twice and I think always be welcomed anytime. I'm looking forward to going and hanging out with some holiday gift money again soon!!

Value City Furniture - Nice set

Today, we decided to buy a new living room set (reclining sofa, love seat, and recliner)…read more Our first stop was Raymour and Flannigan. Although they had a very large selection, we could not find something that matched the style, color, comfort and budget for us. Every set we liked, something did not check the box. We stopped at Ashley Furniture as well. That just did not work for us at all. Almost every microfiber piece looked dusty. It wasn't dust. And the saleswoman blamed it being the microfiber ... but the other furniture places that had plenty of microfiber furniture did not look this way. It was weird. I just didn't find anything very appealing or comfortable in the style we wanted. The sales woman also didn't give us any time to ourselves. Even when she said she would, she wandered away about 20 feet and wandered back over literally 2 mins later. It felt overbearing. Valu was our last stop and I really enjoyed our shopping experience here. They had a lot of unique pieces that had me looking at other furniture we were not in the market for. I secretly pictured myself living alone and single and buying all new things that fit my taste (if you like sparkle and bling they have a lot options). Even their living room furniture had interesting features I never saw, as well as classic looks. I would have loved to give my home a whole new look, but the mister wanted the same sort of style he's had for the last 20 years (reclining sofa, loveseat, and recliner) so we found our set here. It was very comfy and very affordable, yet didn't feel cheap at all. I sure hope the same quality that we felt in store is what gets delivered lol. We chose the Tacoma Dual-Power Reclining set in brown. It has USB ports too. You can get this set in manual instead of power if you like, but you can't adjust the head rest with the manual, only the power. The love seat has an armrest in the middle with a stash spot and 2 cup holders as well. John Tredo was our salesman and he was my favorite of all places. Ashley furniture was the worst. John was friendly and laid back. He didn't hover over us, more so just answered questions as we had them and fell back to let us look around and test out the comfort. Our furniture is on back order until the summer, so I will check back in with an update and pictures around July 2022.

Sold me a living set of furniture and $500 warranty knowing they were going out of business…read more Purchased 1 week before they went public about filing bankruptcy. Here's my story. My delivery was scheduled for a Thursday between 11:15 and 2:15. I rescheduled work appointments for 4 pm that day because I wasn't notified of the time window until two days prior--no big deal. On the morning of the delivery, they called me at 6:40 am to say they would be at the house in 15 minutes. I told them I wasn't ready, and asked if we could keep the original scheduled time of between 11:15 - 2:15. The guy told me he didn't know when they could "redeliver," as if I changed the window, even though they were making the change they made it seem like if I didn't comply who knows when it would come. So I agreed because I had dismantled our furniture the night before and had an empty living room and I have guests coming for Christmas so I had no choice. They came at 7 am and it was a complete mess from there; it just got worse and worse. So they come, start bringing everything in with two guys. Instead of helping each other carry the furniture, they do it separately--one guy carries things in while the other unwraps. Because of this, the guy carrying the furniture drops it HARD on my concrete porch - I have it on my ring camera. Then while trying packing up to go tell me they are missing the end piece of my couch. They don't say a word about missing pieces until they're leaving and tell me part of the couch was damaged, and I should just call the store. I look at them like they're crazy because the store can't just give me a custom piece on the spot. I ask why they would start setting up if they didn't have everything--I would've declined the order! I tell him I can't just call the store because it's custom. I ask where it was damaged and how, I'm panicking, I want to know how bad it is and if it can be fixed because I can't wait 6wks for the end piece of the couch. He says "all the wood in the back is smashed and can't be repaired." He tries to get me to sign, but I decline. They leave and within 30 minutes, call me claiming they found a piece that fits and matches at another store--which is a straight-up lie because it was a custom order. So they lied, saying it was damaged when the whole time it was just lost. They bring it back, put the chair and the couch together WRONG/INCORRECTLY, and tell me that's just how it is when I ask why the couch is off centered and the cushion on the chair is slanted downwards off the base, they have no answers for me, I paid 400 dollars for this delivery service. For what for them to come at the crack of dawn, to drop and damage my furniture and then to lie to me about a different piece being damaged? I was so upset sobbing, I have company coming for the he holiday and I'm thinking I'll have a half couch. Then I realized all the felt is hanging because instead of unwrapping the staples from the plastic he took all the staples out of the couch itself. Out of almost 1k in delivery and warranty that doesn't apply because they went out of business.
