So much fun to sing rounds of Piano Man, Sweet Caroline and Shout, that we came back the next day after another day of conferencing and closing down the adults only, Grotto Swim Bar, at the waterpark. We also ended up ordering the sliders to go along as we had dinner reservations, and that bacon jam on there is magnificent. The sliders were all juicy and very well put together bun was very soft and the flavor of everything was really good. I would totally go back just for the sliders. Overall the service was great. This is a very scenic and modern upscale restaurant near the heart of downtown Georgetown. The interior is nicely appointed and understatedly elegant. The inside and outside restaurant and bar areas are expansive but easily outstrip the provided parking. There is also street parking nearby, but don't be surprised if you wind up walking from nearby public lots or garages. I can easily see this place being packed. We had a reservation and were promptly seated and offered water service. As with most Mexican restaurants, there's an expansive menu, so we ordered drinks while we perused the menu. I found the Encantada margarita to be quite tasty, but it was a bit expensive. At $11 for a single serving with house liquors, closer to what we've come to expect locally for a Mexican martini (theirs was $18 with house, $24 with call). That's a bit over-the-top IMHO. We were offered complimentary chips and salsa; I remember the chips to be excellent, and the red salsa just right for my taste, but others remarked that it was too spicy. Our waitress (Paulina) joked that the only thing less spicy was their ketchup. They also have a green salsa, which is even spicier, but that we all skipped. The food menu has a lot of chef-inspired offerings. I tried the Grilled Chicken Tacos (Grilled Chicken, Cilantro, Onion, Fresco Cheese) at $16. I had one on flour and one on corn to taste the difference in tortillas with the same ingredients, along with a side bowl of black beans. I found them flavorful but also on the small side for the price. Additional tacos are $5 each. No rice was offered. This was one of their least expensive plates. We had a great time and our drink and food service was nothing less than excellent, but I couldn't help but come away feeling that, for a check that tabbed in just under $100 (with tip) we should have had a fuller tummy. Would we come back? Maybe. We'll have to explore their other options and perhaps graze more off the appetizer menu; however, less than $5 separate most of their appetizers from their plate dinners. This is a place to go for a culinary and visual experience, not an everyday meal.

My wife and I went to this dive in support of a cover band that was playing there for the first, and hopefully last, time. We read the reviews about the bartender who cannot even crack a smile and has the customer service mentality of a skunk. She was very easy to identify. The other waitstaff, in all fairness, was professional, and she tried to make up for the bad karma. The place smelled of old cigarettes (smoking is allowed) and had an ambiance that reeked of redneck trouble. The frowning bartender in question made the band keep their music down (hard to do with drums) and then turned up the jukebox during a break. The place just has a "wrong" feel about it. Boring place that can't figure out their business model. They want to appease the old-time "cheers" crowd yet intermingle them with a newer, higher energy crowd. They want entertainment and want to be profitable, but at the same time remain a hole-in-the wall bar. They should be sued and a worker there should be fired and jailed, but they directed their focus on a good Samaritan who tried to help out a person being assaulted. Because he was a good Samaritan, he was banned from the bar. The office lounge lacks proper management and a proper vision for what they want, which results in an unified, apathetic crowd. thanks to the bartenders and a couple lies the owner banned me from this bar and all his bars and I didn't do anything like other people do who are the main bartenders acquaintances , who done WAY WORSE and are allowed in there also breaking rules. It's unfair and poorly handled I never even spoke to the man (Bill) and he doesn't know me.. Not even given a chance to go back in. And to think I loved that place. Had some chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks to munch on. Typical bar food nothing special, but portions were more than enough and apps were served hot. Happy hour pricing all day Sunday was great! All in all they do a great job for what they are. I would definitely recommend and next time I'm in the area I'll stop back!

After explaining what they thought had happened, the bar kicked her out! They had no way of knowing what was waiting for her outside. Another friend took her home, thank God!
