This Office Depot is conveniently located on Vets, and shares a pretty large parking lot with several other businesses. I've always been able to find a parking spot. The staff is helpful and seems to have a pretty good handle on inventory, and where to find specific items. It's a large store, so having a knowledgeable staff makes a huge difference. Prices are sometimes a smidgen high, but I'm willing to pay a little more if I can find everything I need in one place. The checkout times here vary. Today the cashier was on top of her game. This Office Depot is literally right down the street from me. It is in a long L-shaped strip mall with a large parking lot. The parking lot is always busy. There always seems to be at least 6 employees working at any given time when I walk in, yet they rarely speak to customers, preferring the company of each other. My last couple of visits have been to get a flat rate USPS box, which is free to pick up by any customer. So, since they provide that service, I like to actually buy something to reimburse them for the time they spent lifting a heavy (sarcasm) empty box. Each and every time, they try to charge me for the box. You don't pay for the box until you go to ship, even at a Post Office. Other than that, the employees are always friendly enough. I do think they are, on average, more expensive on their supplies, but oh well. This store is always clean, as are their restrooms. read more

Returned to parking lot ten min later and basket was back in store. Thankfully, whoever returned basket also gave my iPad to manager. No one working in the aisles, almost completely out of index cards. Stuff all over the floors. I guess the manager is on vacation. Once I found an employee, he was very helpful in finding where the index cards were supposed to be. However, they were out. I was able to get some right next door at big lots. read more

This isn't my usual Office Depot but I was in the area and needed envelopes. What's nice is they are open 'til 9 PM for any late night nerdy needs. Parking was easy enough right in front and I was immediately greeted by Tyler who earns five stars just based on his stellar customer service. He asked me what I needed and I let him know that I was looking for fancy envelopes. He directed me to what they had in stock. I wish they had more options. They seem to fill the shelves with really cutesy office stuff that I know I would buy, but never need. I will admit it...I have a mild obsession with office supplies. Tyler also checked me out expeditiously so I was in and out in no time. Even after I got in my car, I saw him going to the parking lot to scoop up the empty carts left behind. Went into Office Depot in Metairie to purchase 3 lap tops and a printer. After looking at them for about 30 minutes later we started to look for some help which no one was around that we can see . Went up front which I think most were standing and asked for some help in purchasing the lap tops. One said he will help you. Another said he will help you. Hmmmm unbelievable no one came to help. The store was so lopsided with all the employees sitting at the front of the store if it was a box it would have flipped over. So we left. A big sale for anyone. No help at all. We purchased else where. This was the second Office Depot we visited and left both for the same reason. This is why business's are closing can not find good management. I went to go get my school documents printed. I never thought an employee would be so rude over printing a document. I told the older guy I sent it to my email and he picks up the tiny little sign on the counter and slams it down and says send to him. I could not get my phone to work and instead of waiting for my internet on my phone the older guy yells at another employee for taking to long when the other employee was doing nothing wrong. read more

Would you believe that during early Katrina recovery this was the nearest office supply store for people in New Orleans proper? Flash forward to eight years later (and at least one remodel) and you get a place more focused on trying to sell you service plans for your technology than actually helping you. Yes, there are some people on the sales floor that want to help you find a solution to your needs, but most of them are juts gunning for the commission. Why do I need a three year service plan on a shredder that already have a four year warranty? But when you get down to it this is still one of the better places to get actual office supplies, especially for the hectic back to school season. So, not a total loss. read more

I wanted to take a moment to recognize the excellent customer service I received at the 755 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie, LA 70005 location. Last Saturday I was in town attending a memorial service. I had designed a bookmark to be printed up and forwarded an electronic copy of the bookmark to my wife earlier that week to print just 50 bookmarks for the service before I arrived. My wife had taken the file to Kinkos on Thursday and received very poor service. They told her there they needed 72 hours for the job. After arriving in town late Friday night after many flight delays, my first opportunity to go to your store was Saturday morning. Desiree was the first associate to help me, we worked together on the best print stock suitable for a bookmark. We agreed that tent card paper was the best solution. I bought the paper, took it home to find that the printer there was out of ink. It was less than 2 hours before the service at this point, so I called the store back to see if they could help. I have never used Office Depot print services before, and when Jada spoke with me about our options I was optimistic. I brought the file and the paper I had just purchased back to the store, and Jada easily opened the file and quickly made the copies I needed. Jada also helped me get set up in the customers work space area, setting me up with the tools I needed to finish my task. All the while she was friendly and made a very stressful situation much less stressful. A+ customer service. I will be visiting OD printers from here on out for my print jobs. read more

I dropped off a package to be shipped and got a tracking number well package never arrived or was even scanned by postman and tracking did not move post office said it was never picked up and lost or stolen at store.I contacted the store manager with a receipt for the 89.00 I lost and my packing slip that they gave me,she was rude and told me there was nothing she could do. The staff can be helpful, but the prices on most items are high compared to Sam's Club, Costco, and Amazon. Unless we need some rare item urgently, we order from Amazon Business and skip hunting through Office Depot to find reasonably-priced items. read more
