On a whim I decided to call Laredo to see if by any chance they could get the job done. It was my fault for not accounting more time on the project but eh I digress. I inquired about them printing three large print outs mounted on foam board within 36 hours. I was floored they said no problem and told me to email them the pdf files. There was no sarcastic attitude or a "are you effin' kidding me" tone. Nope they were professional and very kind. Was provided a quote that was more than reasonable and I'm certain way cheaper than the larger boxes out there. When I went to go pick them up, it was super quick but know you need to ring the doorbell since they're sometimes in the back working on projects. It's like a paper heaven in there and you can tell they're busy like all the time. I can't thank them enough for getting this print job done and I'll for sure come back for future print needs.

Well it took 2 weeks before I was called in for wrap install which was on a Wednesday was told vehicle will be ready Friday. They called me Friday name was Ray btw and stated the crew have COVID and my vehicle will be ready on Saturday if needed they will hiring a third party installer, I stated I needed my vehicle due to servicing needs by late Saturday he said okay. Now it's Saturday he tells me they been working overnight Friday and still working Saturday as we speak. However, I passed there Friday afternoon around 6pm no one was there I then passed there on Saturday about 6pm again and still no one was there and my vehicle was parked and looking the same as Friday. I stated that to Ray and he then stated they been tired from working in the heat so they needed more time and I asked to come get my vehicle due to my service appointment he never responded. I go to the office Monday morning spoke with the manager Brett he act as if he didn't know what was going on then apologize d and said the third party company was coming to finish my vehicle today by 5pm. I told him I do not want a rush job so if they need time let me know, it's now 3pm Brett call to say they need more time, at that point I knew something wasn't right I had a friend pass there and my vehicle was in the same position as Friday no one never touched it so I stated to him I'm coming to get my vehicle and requested a full refund, he stated that would be great I kind of was thinking the same thing. I get there my vehicle was not in the condition I brought it on Wednesday. He stated the third party guys did that but they wasn't there to fix it so he told someone that doesn't know about that to fix the issue they now had to keep the vehicle another day to fix the repair. No customer service, bad business, I will never do business nor recommend them. It was all lies with them since Friday's call, just horrible.

I realized today that I have been coming to Ed Smith Stencil Works for over 15 years. That really…read moreisn't that long when you consider that they have been in business since 1867. Before I get to the main body of my review, I want to mention their old location. Located on Camp Street in a very old building, the amount of history in that place was truly amazing. In their case were old police badges, old signs, etc. that they had made throughout the years. I was really sad to see them move from the old spot, but the new place is much more customer friendly. Now in Mid-City, there is ample street and lot parking. Inside the store is clean, modern and efficient. There are many items on display that show the range of things they can create. Everything from vinyl signs to super high end markers for mausoleums. The favorite piece of mine is the old wheelbarrow branded with the Ed Smith logo prominently displayed in the lobby. But looking at cool things is not why I come. I have had many different items made by Ed Smith over the years including name tags, desk name plates, office door plates and most recently self-inking stamps. The quality of their stamps is first rate. They even handled a difficult custom job for me that I picked up today. While not cheap, I have never seen a self- inking stamp so large or so clear. The staff are very helpful and even willing to deal with difficult customers who have unrealistic expectations (Me). I am sure you can go to some national company for these kinds of things, but trust me, Ed Smith is the best at what they do, and they are local.
