Otherwise…read moreyou will get derailed VERY quickly because the selection is huge and the saleswoman has very strong opinions. I'd also recommend going with your partner or a friend. For example, my dad insisted on editing some of the Vietnamese on the invitation which the sales lady decided was absolutely unacceptable, from a word choice perspective. I greatly appreciate the input, but come on lady, it's my dad. My dad also happens to be a voracious Vietnamese reader and was the head master at our Vietnamese language school. He does know a thing or two about Vietnamese literature and writing. If you have the strength to resist the millions of options, you will do well. The card stock is beautiful and prints are elegant. English or bilingual, I would recommend this shop for wedding invitations. The hours are not posted on the door or any websites I know of. Rumor is that they barely do any advertising because they practically have guaranteed business from the parishioners at the nearby churches. As you can imagine, between weddings and funerals, they do a brisk business.

Definitely counting my lucky stars for Laredo because I had some printing to do and legitimately…read morethought I was SOL on it. On a whim I decided to call Laredo to see if by any chance they could get the job done. It was my fault for not accounting more time on the project but eh I digress. I inquired about them printing three large print outs mounted on foam board within 36 hours. I was floored they said no problem and told me to email them the pdf files. There was no sarcastic attitude or a "are you effin' kidding me" tone. Nope they were professional and very kind. Was provided a quote that was more than reasonable and I'm certain way cheaper than the larger boxes out there. When I went to go pick them up, it was super quick but know you need to ring the doorbell since they're sometimes in the back working on projects. It's like a paper heaven in there and you can tell they're busy like all the time. I can't thank them enough for getting this print job done and I'll for sure come back for future print needs.

I hate to do this, but I've given Gentilly Mail more than adequate time to rectify a bad situation,…read morebut they have chosen to ignore me for 3 MONTHS now. I paid $205.44 for them to ship a $1,500 piece of art that I purchased from Renegade Art. They lost a critical component of the art piece itself and continue to refuse to respond to my contacts. They think that if they ignore the problem and remain silent, it will just go away. Both Rob Schmidt, the owner of the business, as well as Luz Lekrik, the Store Manager have been WELL informed of the problem and made the baffling decision to tarnish their store's reputation rather than fixing a simple problem. I even showed them how simple the solution would be, but they remain silent. Ordinarily, someone in my position would be quick to fire off one of those 1 star angry reviews we all see all the time and roll our eyes, but I will have to give them a little credit. The main piece of art that was received was very well packed, so I'll give them 3 stars for that, but the loss of the critical component, combined with their complete and utter lack of communication when the tiniest bit of trouble showed up earns them the loss of 2 stars.

We had lunch here on Fat Tuesday, arriving as soon as they opened so we could be sure to get a…read moretable. We were seated in the outdoor garden area, which was really beautiful. They had a limited menu with it being Mardi Gras to help facilitate serving the expected crowds. The menu was not labeled for gluten-free, so I had to ask the server. Despite there only being a couple of tables sat this early, the server seemed irritated about me asking regarding an allergy. She even displayed annoyance when one of us asked for a fresh water as a knat had flown into ours. We wanted to get an appetizer for the group, and then each of us ordered a lunch option from that day's menu. The scallops sounded gf, so I thought that was a safe bet and just asked that she confirm with the chef, she wrote it down without a word and looked to the next person asking what they wanted. Kinda felt like cheap diner service vs. a well rated restaurant in one of the biggest culinary scenes the US has to offer. The husband of mine ordered the baked brie and just asked if they could put the bread on the side so I could eat the brie, she curtly informed him there were no substitutions today due to Mardi Gras. Our friend laughed at this and said- it's not a substitution, we're not asking you to change out anything on the dish, just set the bread on a different plate so your guest with a legitimate allergy can have some of it. She shrugged, said no promises, and left. Food came out in strange timing with one person's lunch salad and my scallops. Then, 15 mins or so later, the brie in a bowl (on TOP of a plate) and the bread put right on top. Our friend laughed and said- "The dish already comes with a bowl AND a plate. I guess it's asking too much to just put the bread on the accompanying plate. After being there an hour and two of us being finished with lunch, the other salad and sausage lunches came out so the other two people could eat while we waited. My scallops were edible but tasteless. They were served on a mountain of plain white rice with a drizzle of a grapefruit gastrique on top. I mostly felt like I was eating mouthfuls of steamed rice out of a take out carton. Salads were ok but nothing special. The brie was not properly baked and still hard. The stuffed sausage; however, got excellent reviews from our friend. We half expected the inside to be packed based on our service. There were only two other tables outside with us. As we left, we noted that two other small tables were inside. We understand it's NOLA's craziest day of the year, and some allowances need to be made. Advanced reservations? Of course. Longer wait for food? I get it. Even mistakes in preparation? It happens. But a complete lack of regard for customers is not a business I would return to.
