This Office Depot is aces. Put an order in online for local pickup and the day I was scheduled to pick it up, I was told the order was forwarded to their corporate office because this location was unable to print the size flyers I needed. (The online pickup portal and confirmation email said pickup would be local and never mentioned it being sent somewhere else.) I talked to multiple employees over several days to correct this issue as I needed the flyers before going out of town for an expo. They were all very communicative and so kind and helpful! Corporate could not get the flyers sent to the local store in time so they shipped it to the location of the expo which was in a different state all together. Perfect example of stuff happens and how we handle it makes the difference. I purchased Turbo Tax at Office Depot and did not get the bargain that was offered with a Turbo Tax coupon that I received by email. When I wrote a review stating my disappointment with Office Depot's handling of the transaction, I received an immediate email from Asheville store manager Bob who offered to honor the Turbo Tax coupon. I did not expect the store manager to read my review, no less respond so promptly and make things right. I will continue to buy all my office supplies at Office Depot. Thanks Bob! read more

After an awful and traumatizing experience at the Staples on Merrimon. It was a breath of fresh air when I walked into Office Depot and was kindly greeted by two employees who assisted me in getting my 250 sheets of 11x17 copy paper. They went the extra mile in not only guiding me but simply asking about my day and making sure that I had everything I needed. I was in and out in under 10 mins and was very satisfied with my experience. read more

While Office Depots are pretty much similar, I wanted to give a shout out for this one because they carry some of the small printers and faxes. This is helpful when you need to buy a spare fax for your folks who do not need (and could not figure out) all the fancy bells and whistles. While Best Buy told me that what I needed was pretty much obsolete, Office Depot carries the cheap simple workhorses in stock. And, they also carry telecom supplies like phone splitters, cable, etc... So, glad they have saved a little retail space for the simple cheap stuff, even though they carry high end goods too read more

This is now where I will do most of my office shopping! I bought an executive desk from this store (same brand I always buy, Sauder) and the store manager and another employee helped me load into my car. Once I got home I discovered a missing piece, which has never happened before. I contacted the store thinking they would tell me to call Sauder's 800 number, but Steve, the Store Manager, told me to come on down and he would open a box for me to get the missing piece. Fantastic! Well, I got home and found out two more pieces were missing. I contacted the store again and Steve gave me the two other missing pieces as well as a discount on the merchandise! Amazing! Now this sounds like a bad experience, but I almost exclusively buy Sauder and missing a piece has NEVER happened to me before. I will continue to buy Sauder and visit this store. Steve is good people, you can't go wrong when making a purchase at this store. read more

Went to the Asheville store to by an office chair. A relatively tall, very bald man, maybe 50 'helped' me. I was in a certain price range so he showed me the specially priced office chair... All the while snickering behind my back. I needed it to go higher which he said none of his chairs go higher. Well, the chair I'm replacing was bought at Office Depot, and it goes much higher. Worst customer service of all time with Tim in the copy center and with the manager (Jerry, I think name his was -- no name tag). I was trying to order business cards, but Tim kept having trouble with the computer. He walked away to work on another order and came back -- never saying a word to me. I finally asked, very quietly and politely, "Is it working now?" He replied curtly, "Yes, ma'am" with sarcasm on "ma'am". Because I had other things to buy and thought I'd walk around the store and get them, I asked "Can you tell me when, like in how many minutes, they should be finished?" Tim responded, very curtly and again with great sarcasm on the "ma"am" -- "They'll be finished when they are finished printing, ma'am." I tried again and asked, "Do you know about how long that will be?" His response was "When they're done." I asked to work with someone else, and he ignored me. I asked to speak to the manager and had to ask 3 times before he called the manager. After speaking with the manager, I can see why the store associate is so rude -- he interrupted me as I was explaining, etc. As I waited for my cards, I walked around and made a few phone calls -- several times the manager tried to interrupt me during a phone call, even when I held up a finger and said "Just a minute, please." Then, when I was walking back to the copy center to pick up the cards, he approached me and tried to explain away his rude behavior. Just a horrible experience all the way around. If you're in Asheville and need office supplies, printing, etc., I strongly suggest you go anywhere else but this place! read more
