This being said, gently used vintage and modern clothing, shoes, jewelry, choctchkies, along with antique items too. Oh and furniture!!! Always beautiful furniture in this shop. Everything is clean and well organized, unlike many thrift stores I've been to. Prices and consignment pay out are both very fair. The store is lovely and so fun to meander through. One wont need to sift and sort through items which really makes the shopping experience a pleasure. You'll see items that you've never seen before and are so interesting! Elijah and team were efficient, professional and friendly, and both he and co-owner Gary gave us some good advice. Coomer's is definitely on our favorites list. They saved us almost $6000!!

Over the first couple of months of treatment, I grew to hate the way I looked--so I went with a friend on a Saturday and consulted with Scott. It was a wonderful experience: He was fun to work with, kind, compassionate and hugely flamboyant, which I found endearing. I settled on a wig, that had no price tag on it--but which he said was $269. He said he would order it on Monday, and I should have it by that Friday or Saturday. That weekend came and went, and I did not hear from Scott. I didn't call, because I didn't want to be a pest. On Monday or Tuesday of the following week I called him to inquire, and his TONE was rude and unfriendly. He acted like he didn't even know who I was. But he made me feel he was too busy to bother. Then he said he would "check on it" and call me back, which he did. Still, his tone was cold and rude -- like he didn't have time for interruptions, which he made me feel that my call was. Yesterday, I received a call from the shop's owner while I was driving--a very friendly call--stating that my wig had come in. I told her I would call later to make an appointment to pick it up. When I called, I asked to speak to Scott. Once again, the rude and unfriendly Scott "showed up." He hurried me through the call, saying I could either come in in an hour OR wait till after the 4th of July. I chose an appointment after the holiday. After thinking about everything overnight, I decided to cancel my wig order with Secret of a Duchess and purchase it somewhere else. I have worked in sales and customer service all my life, and I like doing business with people who are interested in more than just making a sale. It is so much more satisfying to BUILD RELATIONSHIPS than to simply negotiate a one-time transaction. And life is too short to deal with Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde! UPDATE: I emailed Judi who owns Secrets of a Duchess to let her know how unhappy and disappointed I was with the way I was treated by Scott. She offered to come in on a Sunday, her day off, to see what she could do to "make things right with me." I met her at the store, and she spent over an hour with me trying on both the wig I had ordered and several others she thought I might like. She was very gracious, hospitable and helpful. In the end I chose a different wig, and she gave me a significant discount to make up for my bad experience. She was so kind and delightful to work with, she more than made up for my horrible experience with Scott. If you are looking for a wig, a highly recommend you appoint with Judi herself. She will treat you right and make the experience fun and fabulous. You will be walking on a cloud when you leave her shop. Thank you, Judi! You restored my faith in people!
