This by FAR was my favorite bar while visiting the Outter banks. They have a massive selection of beers including a seltzer and a couple ciders! The beat part is... it's completely self-serve! They give you a bracelet that you scan at your selection and they charge you by the milliliter. You will only pay for as little or as much drink as you desire. (Careful with your last fill up) The fries were crispy and delicious! The pretzel was tasty with the grain mustard. I wish the beer cheese was warm. But I'm not about to take a star away for that. read more

It's like I never left Brooklyn. It's essentially a nice sports bar (lots of TVs) with self-serve taps. They give you bracelets (which sometimes work, and sometimes don't), and you can fill your own cups or try anything (charged by the ounce). Not the greatest beer selection, but I found 1 or 2 that I liked. They also have surprisingly good food. The baked brie plate was perfect. The pretzel wasn't really pretzel shaped, but pretty good. I can't say no to beer cheese. I also had pork belly BLT, served on sourdough. A little dry, but all the flavors were there. The staff is also ultra-friendly. And the place has only been open a few months, so it's super clean. Give me a shot! read more

The idea of this bar seemed like a pretty good idea in theory but for me the execution really left something to be desired. However there were both positives and negatives in the experience, it's possible they just have some opening week jitters to work out. The positives: They were very accommodating to our large group. We came with 9 and were able to get sat and get bracelets almost immediately. The food was pretty good, I split a couple appetizers with someone else at the table and we both enjoyed the pickle spears and the BBQ chicken nachos. The negatives: The beer machines were difficult to work. I couldn't tell if it was just me having trouble so at one point I started watching the taps and I didn't see a single person who was able to operate them without help from the staff, also several of the taps flat out didn't work even after staff intervention. The beer selection wasn't great in my opinion. This was exacerbated by the fact that they had three taps out of service. I don't know if the taps were broken or if the kegs were gone and they didn't have replacements, but to be down almost a quarter of your taps less than 10 days after opening feels like a problem to me. The staff had an extremely difficult time splitting up our checks. I understand we probably should have taken a single check and split it with venmo after, but it took them a full 45 minutes to split ours up. We couldn't even have a beer to pass the time while we waited, because they take your bracelet to add it to your check. Overall: I feel like this could be a good spot if they work out some of their issues. I hope that if we can get back down to OBX again we can come back to find it much improved. read more

Like others have mentioned you would not think this was a 5 star place by just driving by but it definitely was! It is the perfect place for kids and adults. We had a party of 6 (3 adults and 3 kids) and Keith was awesome. He took care of us and was super friendly. I loved being able to try all the beers on tap. You get a little bracelet (I called it my magic band because it looked just like the ones at disney) you tap your band to the beer tap you want to try and you can get as much or as little as you want. They average around 50 cents an oz so it really wasn't that expensive. I spent around 16 bucks but got to try a lot of different beers. It was really fun!! read more

This is a pretty cool place, you can give your ID to recieve a bracelet that you'll scan before self-pouring from the taps. There's about 20 taps ranging in a good variety of beers. Each time you go up to scan your bracelet for another pour it will tell you how much you've had so far. I was with a group of 9 people, we ordered multiple appetizers and meals. All the food was pretty good. The pickle fries were my favorite. I haven't seen them where they're cut like fries rather than spears. Onion rings came with an aoli that was like thousand island which I thought paired with the fried pickles better than the ranch they actually came with. They've only been open a little over a week so you could tell they're still trying to figure things out. We did ask for separate checks but it took over a half an hour to get our bills and pay which was frustrating. They have a handheld device that handles the orders/billing which seemed like not the most efficient way. Once they figure things out a little more I think this will be a pretty cool place. read more

Never have I been so impressed with a restaurant before. The food was to die for and the fries were literally the best I've ever tasted. ever. I went here with my parents in the off season (January) and had the BEST time. There's little open around here on a Sunday afternoon, so we stumbled in and I am so glad we did. The beers are self-serve (which is pretty cool), and you get a small bracelet with a fob that monitors how many ounces your pouring, and charges accordingly. It's really neat because you literally get to pour and pick exactly what you want. The owner, Keith, came over and talked to us about his whole set up. It's a cool addition to OBX and I'm 100% sure we'll be back. Now, the food was to die for. The shrimp taco (street tacos) were huge and delicious. You get three tacos that each were the size of my whole hand. And my god, they were amazing. I was actually upset that no one else at my table got to try them, they were so good! My dad got a burger and he loved it, and my mom got the nachos and she loved it. The fries (did I mention I got an entire basket of fries with my tacos??) were so crispy and good, by the time I finished all my food I was a huge fan. Not to mention we left the place with 3 growlers - 3 32 oz containers of what they had on tap. I'm excited to take them back to my home town and share how great the IPAs were. My dad also mentioned that they had some really cool Grateful Dead posters, the music was awesome, and the whole atmosphere was laid back. The owner was even staying open a bit later for some of the championship games on today. I can't recommend the place enough. COVID review- we only got take-out. No beer. The staff was very nice and everyone had masks. But the distancing ended there. We went inside to pick up our food and every table was taken, except a 2 person one against the wall and a 8-10 person high top where they put take out to be picked up. We were glad we weren't eating there. Three of us got fish tacos. They weren't bad, but had almost no seasoning. I'm not sure they even used salt. Plenty of tuna in them, it was just bland. We got the tuna appetizer, that was also a little bland, but the Asian slaw was good. They should use that slaw in the tacos instead of the bland cabbage they did use. One of us got the burger. It was huge, way too big for the bun, and also pretty bland. Obviously frozen. They did take out, so thats a plus. And they were nice. We'd go again if forced, but no harm in trying some place else if you have options. read more

We were a little worried when we walked in. It's usually bad sign when no one is there. I overlooked that the place was new, which is probably why they were quiet. We started with the sweet tater tots. They were served with maple syrup. There was nothing special about them. I also expected there to be more for $8 a plate. For my meal I ordered to bbq chicken nachos. Those were tasty! There was a good amount of chicken, and the combination of cheddar beer cheese was delicious. My hubby had the burger with fried green tomato, lemon aioli and pimento cheese. He also thought it was great. We ordered beer using the wristbands. They had a nice variety and were on par for price. There is nothing special about this place. We had higher expectations based on the ratings. My daughters said "your fried tomatoes are better" and so are my moms pickles. Basically, it was edible but my pork belly sandwich was all fat. The beer novelty was unique but limited beers on tap- a lot of ciders and seltzers. The service was good and friendly. I've never had nachos like this with such unique ingredients (BBQ chicken, pesto brushetta tomatos, peperchini peppers & cheese sauce), but the flavors meld together beautifully. We watched the sunset at the lighthouse in Corolla and were looking for someplace to eat on our way back to Duck. We dropped into Off The Wall Tap House on the later side and were met with friendly people and some GREAT food. They have a pretty cool system where you pour your own beer with a little sensor that tracks how much you pour and you simply pay per oz. They have inside and outside seating, so we decided to sit outside. I had the Grilled Chicken and Brie sandwich. Excellent! It came with fries. They were crispy (probably double fried) and also very good. My wife had the Roasted Beets and Baby Spinach salad. She really liked her meal as well. We enjoyed it so much we came back a few nights later and this time I tried the Pulled BBQ Chicken sandwich. Even better! Sooo good! We didn't get very far into a dining experience at this place. My wife and I got to pour ourselves a beer, but barely drank any of them before our pretzel appetizer came. I took the first bite and tried dipping my bite in the "cheddar beer cheese" that the menu describes as coming with the app. The cheese sauce was clearly canned, and served cold! When I say cold, I mean refrigerated cold as I picked up the cup and could feel the cold coming from the bottom. We called the server over and she said it should be served hot. So how did that mistake get made? A clear recipe of theirs just became canned refrigerated cheese sauce. They couldn't even bother to heat the bit they served us in the microwave before serving it to us. That was the writing on the wall we needed to decide to cut our losses and just get up and leave. If a place advertisers something on their menu and can't produce it without telling you upfront, then have the gaul to serve you a canned product straight from the fridge it shows the attention to detail they promote. Dining in the Outer Banks is just one poorly run place after another, so this place fits that mold perfectly. Maybe it's because I work in the business, but just because I'm on vacation doesn't mean I'm ready to pay top dollar for sub par food that's basically fast food quality at 10x the price. "It should be hot". Words to live and die by, because if they can't bother to heat up cold cheese sauce before serving it who knows how close death could have been had we actually ate the app or tried an entree. read more

This place on the south end of Corolla in the Outer Banks is fantastic-tastic. We were able to get a to-go order and had a beer while we waited. Kind and helpful staff, wonderful beer selection and the food quality blew us away when we got back to the hotel. Barbeque chicken nachos, peel and eat shrimp, and a grilled tuna salad. We'll be going back. It's nice to get this quality of food at the beach. Dine-in if you can. East seating inside or out and did I mention the beer selection? Great little spot, small but seems to fit a decent amount of people between the inside/outside. Went with a group of seven, and were seated after maybe 20 minutes. While we waited, we grabbed a bracelet and starting sampling from the self-serve beer taps. The pay-per-ounce system is a phenomenal idea that I haven't seen before and allow you to try quite a few beers, or just stick with a couple that you like. They have a nice selection of seafood and other meals, which were creative and extremely tasty. Chicken nachos were a bit small for the price, but very good. Loved the fried pickles and the chicken sandwich on focaccia also. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Probably my only "complaint" was the actual beer. They had a perfectly varied selection, from sours to IPAs to stouts, with some local stuff and some non-local; I just didn't think most of them were very good. Maybe not their fault (OBX isn't exactly a great craft beer destination), but I was still a bit disappointed in how many average to below average beers were on tap.
