Fresh Kind Kitchen - We made our own bowl, one vegetarian, the other not!

We were visiting Green Bay where we used to live looking for a place for lunch. As soon as we…read morewalked into this small restaurant, I knew I had been there before when it was something else! It is, as I already mentioned - small (about a half dozen tables for two). I'm guessing it is good (better) for takeout but we arrived just after 1:30 on a Thursday and had no problem getting a table. It is light, bright, and cheery inside. The two young women working behind the counter were very pleasant and patiently explained the options to us and all the customers who came in after us. There are about a half dozen "suggested" bowls but you can create your own or make changes to the ones in the menu. I ordered the Berbere Spiced Sweet Potato with almost all the colors of the rainbow represented - spiced sweet potatoes, radishes, carrots, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, dried cranberries, and green apples (I think I remembered everything). There is an option for an upcharge to add a protein but the vegetarian option was uncooked tofu and I only eat tofu that is well-seasoned and cooked so I passed. Hubby had the Lemon Herb Rotisserie bowl which he liked. Both were very filling and we couldn't finish them. Drinks range from Diet Coke to cold pressed juices. Great option for downtown Green Bay. Four stars because the (one) vegetarian protein option was not to my liking.

Let me say this one: it takes one person in the entire experience to ruin a rating. One person…read more Went on a Saturday morning and ordered from the kiosk. We had two drinks: one cold and one hot. Typically the person at the counter asks us if we had any drinks, and hands us our cups. This morning? A girl named Ryan was working the front and completely ignored us. No good morning, no how ya doing, nothing. I ordered tea and the woman at the end prep area said it would be about 15 minutes or so, so I figured I would enjoy some of my tea before my meal. I go to snag one of the cups near the monitor, and Ryan turns around and says, "oh no, they will give you cups at the end." While pulling the cup from my grip. No, "hey, by the way", no, "oh, did you need your drinks?" None of that. Because I invaded her personal space at her sacred register, I was not permitted a cup while waiting 15 minutes for my food. So we went to the end, waited our 15 minutes, had our food which was fine, and went to leave while asking the manager the young girl's name. I said have a good day to her, walked past Ryan and stated, "your approach to customers needs work. You didn't need to tear the cup out of my hand." To which she just said, "have a great Saturday!" This is what ruins experiences for customers, flat out. People like this. Won't return here again.
