The irony of my friend hating country music, but he was willing to put up with it because we decided to eat here before my first metal concert. I personally love the decor and country music overall. Our waitress was nice, we were seated and our orders taken pretty quickly. I got the Frosty Margarita, which I don't recall my alcohol in it at all, but looked nice and blue. Was excited to see a Nashville Chicken Sandwich and thought the grilled version was okay. It was brushed with some heat and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy. Great place to come catch a local live show. Food was delicious but a bit pricey. We had to eat at the bar due to not having a reservation which was a little bit annoying since I had already paid $75 for a table at the concert to sit with my friend at a table). Off the rails indeed. Came in today for a bite to eat in between sessions for our kids cheer at DCU center. The hostess was incredibly rude to our party of 8. We absolutely understood accommodating a party of 8 at last minute notice immediately is not going to happen, however the hostess said "30 minute wait" we didn't mind waiting at all. After telling her we didn't mind waiting, she rudely told us to leave. As a bartender and server for 20 plus years, I understand this industry and know that we were treated extremely inappropriately. We found a VERY good restaurant a block away called 158 grille. Do yourselves a favor and SKIP off the rails and give the other place your business, not worth the headache. As a mother of young girls, it was very disappointing to have to explain to them that not everyone is like the woman who was greeting us at this establishment. Stopped by on a quiet Sunday afternoon after my granddaughter's rock and roll debut . Very friendly service by Leilani. We shared onion rings and they were lightly breaded and very tasty Wife and I spilt the brisket bomb and wished I had my own order as it was delicious! We were there at 2:30 after we attended Silver Scream Con and the hostess with curly hair told us "it was a 10-15 minute wait, and we can't wait inside the establishment, we must wait outside. Two other couples entered that spoke to us about the wait and were seated promptly with no wait. After 10 minutes my girlfriend went inside and talked another woman and she seated us. I've traveled all over the world and this was the worst hostess experience I've ever had. The waitress was very nice and the food was great. Good stuff! I was galivanting around Worcester and had about 2 hours to kill before a concert at the nearby DCU center. Plus, I also wanted/needed to get some food in me. Hungry Mark is no fun, and I don't want to spend $10 for a hot dog (or however much stadium food costs nowadays). Not wanting to stray too far in search of food, I decided to take a chance on Off The Rails, and I am glad I did! I ordered the Bourbon Bacon Scallops and Chicken Fried Tenders. The Bourbon Bacon Scallops were excellent! They were cooked perfectly, the sauce was great, and the bacon... well, I've never been known to complain about bacon! It was thick-slices, cooked well, and tasty (ofc)! The Chicken Fried Tenders were a delight also! I loved the integration of very thing fried onions into the delicate and already tasty breading! The tenders themselves were cooked to heavenly tender perfection! The ranch sauce was not overpowering and added a wonderful savory note to the tenders. They had little bacon bits too! As I said, I will not complain about bacon! The service is pretty speedy! I also definitely recommend making a reservation, even for lunch. Went here for a late lunch before a special event at Mechanics Hall. Service was a little slow due to another big party being there but the food was hot and tasty and came out fast and all at once! I really liked the seafood poboy, nice cornmeal fry on the shrimp and cod. Bloody Marys were yummy and we sat right next to the restaurant stage and had no problems at all having a table conversation and listening to the live music. I was down in Worcester at the DCU for the day and needed to find food outside the venue. We happened to find Off the Rails, which was tucked in behind DCU. This is a neat place that has many different spaces. It has a cool southern rock/country vibe. I went there twice that day, as I got lunch with a friend and then my daughter needed food once she finished her competition. My first stop, we made it for Sunday Brunch and sat in room to left of door. This was an intimate space and a guy was playing guitar and singing. He was really good! There is also the space with a big main bar, another space to the right of that and then a HUGE space that looks like they use it for events, weddings, concerts, etc. I started with a Dixieland Delight Sangria, which was a good winter choice with blackberry brandy, raspberry & orange liqueur, and Pinot noir. This was delicious! I am a huge connoisseur of sangria and this ranked right up there. The food was a little hit or miss for me. The cornbread with jam and butter was really good. Shareable amount of homemade cornbread that was not too sweet, served with butter and raspberry thick jam. Next I had the fried chicken sandwich. Now, this could have been epic, but fell short. The chicken itself was fantastic - great flavor, melt in your mouth. This came on plain white bread toasted, crispy fried onions, and pickles. No sauce whatsoever, which was odd. The white bread also seemed misplaced on this sandwich. Simply adding a good homemade chik fil-a version of sauce and putting this on a nice soft roll would have elevated this to the top. The accompanying coleslaw was very good and I had an extra side of green beans, which were roasted with onions, and were very tasty. The last thing we tried on second stop was plain Mac & cheese. This is a homemade version, but not our cup of tea. Cavatappi noodles were cooked well, but the cheese sauce tasted mostly velveeta based, was soupy, and just too much sauce. I could have used a spoon to eat this dish. I would pass on this version. All in all, this is a neat spot. Would recommend Sunday brunch with the music and a yummy sangria or cocktail read more

We often come here before the metal shows at Palladium. The service is good and the drink selection is on point. I like the Louisiana cuisine focus as I used to work there. My kryptonite is fried pickles, I order it wherever I see it. Here, it's way too salty. Tone it down and you have a winner. The poboy is great, it's my go to. It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Things started out great at this newer restaurant, but had a sloppy finish. We were promptly seated in a quiet room, adjacent to the entry which features their busy bar area. Our room only had one other couple seated, and looked like it could accommodate perhaps 6 tables and a large booth. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, considering she was working two rooms and many tables. The food arrived hot, and we thought it was good, including fried chicken, pork tenderloins, and French fries. All was well until things seemed to come off the rails. The staff started moving tables around and looked like they were setting up for a large group. The initial table setup almost blocked the egress to the kitchen, so they rearranged again, until they were finally done (one of the tables they moved almost hit my co-diner). Then a group of about 20 began to shuffle in, as we tried to quickly finish our meal and exit the mob scene. When something like this happens, we expect a manager to come over, apologize and offer alternatives, whether it's a different table, or some type of comp toward a future meal. This did not happen, though the waitress felt bad for us, and provided a 10% discount on our check. Someone asked us how things went as we were leaving, I assumed he was the manager, and suggested a different day of the week where things might be quieter. That was too little and too late from my perspective. The bottom line was good food, but an unpleasant dining experience. read more

Beautiful room with a big stage outback showcasing the amazing local talent! The bartender John was super attentive and gave us great suggestions for fun bars to visit around Worcester! This evening, I went to Off The Rails in Worcester. I sat at their great bar. The service was wonderful with an attentive bartender and host. The bartender was named Jon and was very friendly. The owner/ manager is also doing a great job. The bar and restaurant is decorated with photos of Americana and Country music greats. I ordered the delicious pulled pork platter with cornbread, coleslaw, and macaroni and cheese. The pulled pork tasted fresh and flavorful, the cornbread was moist, and the coleslaw was some of the best I've ever had. The food was 18 dollars, but was sharable and worth it. I definitely want to go back when there is a band/ live music. I am giving this restaurant and music venue 5 stars. read more

Pretty abysmal lunch service. It's across from the DCU Center meaning they understand event pops and it has a business model meant to serve a quick turnaround, large format menu. So why did we wait 30 mins for soft drinks and more than an hour for food (which ended up being served cool to touch - not ideal for grilled cheeses and a fried chicken sandwich)? I have no idea. Because nothing was explained. A half-hearted apology for the wait and in the meantime, no check ins for refills or anything that indicated an iota of sympathy. Maybe the quality of the food would offset the epic delays? Nah. My Nashville hot chicken sandwich was four pieces of popcorn poultry drizzled with almost no hot sauce and three pickle chips on two dry pieces of white toast. It was laughable, and looked absolutely nothing like these other photos I'm seeing on Yelp. Look, if you're having staffing issues or something going awry in the back of house, then offer an explanation. Do the right thing by people who end up missing the first 15 minutes of a ticketed event because their reservation 75 minutes before the start wasn't enough even though they spent only 5 minutes scarfing down bad food. Amazing! Just amazing! This place has a really nice vibe; they had live music and the decor was beautiful. The servers were so friendly and really fast. My friends got the burger which they said was really really good & I had gotten the Nashville Chicken sandwich and I was pleasantly surprised. I'm usually not a fan of sandwiches but this one was soo good! It's a bit spicy so if that's not your jam, I'd recommend going with the normal one. The chicken itself was so tender and the spices were very well spread out. Lastly, the fries! Omg, it was actually so crispy on the outside and a bit soft on the inside. My family and I were excited to try this venue. It DID NOT live up to expectations. Every one of our appetizers was few and far between. Poor quality and little quantity. Then my wife was given undercooked fried chicken. Literally the middle of the pieces were raw. By the time the chicken came back out the rest of the crew had finished their meals. The chicken was removed from the bill, but no manager ever came by to apologize or make the experience better. My Mac and cheese was tiny and bland. I will not be returning to this place. read more

We recently saw Off the Rails on an episode of Phantom Gourmet and were sold. We ordered the pimento cheese dip and pretzels, as well as the cornbread for our appetizers. The pimento dip was absolutely delicious. Gooey and flavorful with a slight "kick" from the bits of pepper in it. The dipping pretzels were warm and soft. The cornbread was great. Light and moist with a great traditional "corn" flavor to it. The house made jam and butter were both wonderful. We ordered the chicken sandwich with regular hot sauce, and the pulled pork Mac and cheese for our entrees. The chicken on the sandwich was tender and flavorful. The hot sauce was spicy but not overbearingly so. The French fries had a nice crisp to them and were cooked perfectly. The pulled pork Mac and cheese was phenomenal. The pork was juicy and tender, and the macaroni cooked well. The real kicker was the molasses bbq sauce that you can drizzle on top of the pork. Unbelievable flavor. Our waitress was attentive, kind, and quick. Everything you want/need in a waitress, especially on a Friday night. Though we didn't order any alcoholic drinks, their drink menu seemed vast, as it was 4 pages long. If you're looking for a solid spot for some New England style southern food, I couldn't recommend this place more. We will be life long patrons. Ribs were great, Arnold palmers were great, service was great, went on a Saturday around 5:30 wasn't too busy got seated right away, we ordered, chicken and rib platter, a 1/2 rack of ribs and the brisket platter, ribs were some of the best ribs we've ever had in the city of Worcester perfect fall off the bone 10/10, the pulled chicken was ok, kinda dry not enough bbq sauce, added some bbq sauce and the chicken was good, also got bbq lollipops those were excellent, brisket wasn't good at all it was dry, overcooked, definitely would not get again, also got onion rings those were phenomenal, the corn bread that came with the platters was good, but it would have been nice if it came with some butter.
