The popular haunt for rock and metal, but let's explore what this venue used to be…read more... Welcome to the preserved historic home of the Plymouth Theatre. It opened in November 1928. It hosted acts and short movie performances of the day . It closed in 1965. It reopened in 1967 for a performance by Dean Martin. Over the years it has been a venue for performances of various art styles. Now it's a place for rock and roll music. The theater was designed for the best possible audience at every corner the sound quality is clean and great. It offers two levels. It's a great place to listen to metal music. The service is good with the bar offering a variety of options for drinks. If you want something to drink even water you will have to purchase it. No outside anything. The best is about to begin. The bands are playing, let's get it done!

I started going to shows at age 12, up until a few years ago. I was heading to the bathrooms and saw a friend who was very drunk and looked like he needed a friend. I was 25 at the time. I was there with my now ex boyfriend. My friend dragged me into the men's room, threw me in a stall, closed the door and trapped me. Then he was exposing himself to me and I begged him to stop and to let me go. I was crying for help when one of the staff came in, and was so cruel to me, he wouldn't let me say a word to him, he kicked us both out. I immediately felt embarrassed and nauseated at what happened. I still have night terrors about it. It has taken me this long to actually say something. The man who wouldn't let me tell what happened, and who marched me out the door, was scaring me. I had done nothing wrong. I was concerned for a friend and that got me kicked out of a place that I thought I was safe at. And on my birthday! If that man reads this, I hope he realizes that it was because of the way he treated me that I have never gone back there. If he had just heard me out, and allowed me to explain that I was trapped in that stall begging to get out while my so called friend touched himself in front of me, and allowed me to go back to where my boyfriend was, and finish the show, on my birthday, if he had just listened and not been so nasty to me, I may have felt saved by this cruel staff member, and he would have known how grateful I was that he came barging in, in what I thought was being saved, and I would have felt safe there once more, knowing the staff had my back, and I could continue going to see my favorite bands. The palladium should feel lucky I'm only giving 2 stars rather than one. It wasn't all bad, but that one bad event basically nullified every other event. But women are constantly blamed when stuff like this happens to them. My second home became my nightmare. I can never go back to my happy place. If I did I'd be looking over my shoulder rather than enjoying the show. So thanks for ruining the one place I loved so much.

Vincent's - Meatball Sandwich

I probably never would have found this place on my own, but I'm really glad I tried it!…read more One of my bosses is originally from Worcester, and her daughter was heading home for the weekend, so my boss asked her to stop at Vincent's and grab us some meatball sandwiches for lunch. She had been talking about how amazing their meatball sandwiches were, and since meatball sandwiches are basically my favorite food, I obviously had to try them. Before this, I had never heard of Vincent's. We looked it up and realized it's not really a traditional restaurant. It's a bar that serves food, and apparently their meatball sandwiches are a big thing. Another coworker of mine who is also from Worcester explained that this is a place people go to for drinks and food, and that they have some specific rules when it comes to ordering the sandwiches. When we called, we were told that they do takeout, but you can't actually place a takeout order over the phone. You have to go in and order it. I thought that was a little unusual, but my coworker said that's their normal practice. There is also a three-sandwich limit per person. My bosses daughter went in to order five for the office, so thankfully she had someone with her and they were able to order three each. Apparently, the three-sandwich limit is posted on one of their Google pictures, so I guess if you know, you know. I do wish they had a website or something that clearly explained the takeout process and ordering limits, because if you've never been there, you wouldn't necessarily know any of this. Now for the important part...the sandwich! My bosses daughter had about a 30-35 minute drive back to us, so I honestly expected the sandwich to be pretty cold by the time I got it. It was wrapped in foil, and somehow it was STILL warm when I opened it. I was actually surprised. And let me tell you...this was probably one of the best meatball sandwiches I've ever had. It's definitely different from your typical meatball sub. The meatballs are flat, and instead of a regular torpedo/sub roll, it comes on this thick Italian bread. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I LOVED it. The combination of the bread and the meatballs was so good that I'm pretty sure I'm going to want my meatball sandwiches this way from now on. I can only imagine how good it would have been if I had eaten it fresh at the bar instead of 35 minutes later. So yes, I completely understand why my boss recommended this place. If I'm ever back in the Worcester area, I will absolutely be stopping at Vincent's. Just make sure you know the ordering rules before you go!

From beers to entrees, Cold Harbor is a solid dinner spot…read more I went here for dinner before heading to a Pitbull show at Xfinity. I know... super far, right? Well, we had stayed in Worcester after going to another concert the previous night and needed some things to do in between. Enter Cold Harbor. I ordered the Pumpkin Ale as it's that season and loved the malty spicy balance. They had a gluten-free pizza that had sausage and ricotta. The crust was bomb! Very nicely cooked with nice globs of ricotta making it more tasty. Waitress was super friendly and helpful. At one point I think she got placed outside and it was difficult to get her towards the end, but we figured it out. I liked the pumpkin beer so much, I decided to try a flight. I ordered all pale ales/ipas. They were a bit too wet with hops and one of them gave me a little hop burn. The flavor profiles were good though. I walked out with a pack of Ravenna and Pumpkin Ale. I would definitely like to go again!

Impressive contrast between the patty's crusted exterior and still-juicy interior. Arguably overdone on the outside, but I'll take that all day every day as long as the juiciness is there. Moderate amount of butter on the Texas toast standing in for rye. Somewhat-traditional condiments, but with a few liberties taken (caramelized onion, cheddar jack, bacon). Not elite, but solid enough job and probably among the better patty melts I've had on my recent quest. -- CH Cheeseburger: Tried twice, this wasn't just a good cheeseburger for the 'burbs or a good cheeseburger for a brewery. This is a good cheeseburger, period, and a very good one. The first thing I really like about it is that it's a thick, full-size patty, and not the overexposed smashburger that's made the thick ones nearly extinct. The second is that they understand and deliver on the concept of textural contrast: crusty exterior and pink, very juicy interior. They also season it just enough to notice, butter that griddled bun just enough to notice, and don't screw up the vegetable additions. The cheese is there but unremarkable. The bun is soft and flexible. Overall, one of the best burgers in MetroWest and Worcester. -- Fries: The frozen variety, neither great nor horrific. They got the job done. -- Beer: I like their offerings, led by their flagship Juice Freak, served properly in attractive glassware. I have other breweries with beers I love, but none of them has a burger I love, and I'm already falling in love with this one. Service was excellent every time, once at a table and twice at the bar. Note: If you use Siri to get directions here by name rather than address, she'll tell you that they've closed, but that's because they moved recently. They're open.
