My pool stopped circulating water during the Winter. I was too busy with work to notice, and within 4 days, I had the worst algae bloom I've seen. Thought my pump was broken. Called OTDE, and he came out the next day.
Jeff was very knowledgeable and informative. Turns out, my impeller was clogged. He quoted me for unclogging the impeller and getting my pool back on track. The quote was more than fair, so I went forward with it.
Side note, I was not taking very good care of my pool filter cartridges, so with some advice from Jeff and lots of research, I decided to switch over to a sand filter while Jeff was already working on my pool. In the process, he plumbed my system to be more efficient (took out about 5 90* turns in the line) which increased my flow rate greatly. During the work, when things were not as bad as he thought, or took less time that he estimated, he adjusted the invoice in my favor, a very honest thing for a contracted service provider to do.
After all the work, he revisited several times to make sure my chemical balance was headed in the right direction, and gave me some good pointers.
Finally, I am a huge backseat driver when people are working at my house. It's a personal character flaw. A couple times during the process, I stepped in and did what I decided was the best move. Both times, Jeff had a different plan, and my actions threw off his groove (I'm the worst, I know). Both times, Jeff was very congenial, assuring me that he wanted me to be in the driver's seat for my pool, and that he would do whatever I wanted him to do.
If you've made it this far, I hope I've convinced you that you won't go wrong hiring Off the Deep End for your pool's maintenance or larger work. read more
