Lulu placing and staying in different locales.
    Laura C.

My dog, Lulu, went to the two week Board and Train in June this year. Christina D. was her trainer and Lulu spent 14 days in the Paradise for animals and humans that is Christina's home. She had the best time and learned so much. It's so true what they say that dogs love to work and learn, it is fulfilling and educating. Among other tasks, Lulu learned to place, stay, and come as well as heel. This is exactly what I hoped would happen because although she is a small dog (less than 25#) she is very strong and could easily pull me down. Once I picked her up it was my responsibility to continue to work with her to cement her training and build that communication with me she had with Christina. I'm not going to lie, it was harder for me to get up to speed than it was for Lulu and I pestered Christina pretty badly for the first ten days or so after we were home again. She was kind and patient during that process. I was so delighted to see Lulu happily respond once she got calm consistent commands. She has become the dog I dreamed of and more! I highly recommend Off Leash K9 and especially Christina.

My dog Lila went through the 3 Week Board and Train program this month. She has always been a loving and affectionate dog but definitely struggled with reactivity and following commands. I am located in the Sacramento area and Channa was my trainer. She did an excellent job caring for and teaching my girl structure. She was very sweet to my dog in the various videos she kept me updated with. When picking Lila up after three weeks I saw obey her commands that she never knew before. I was very impressed by the support and clarity Channa provided throughout the whole process. When I had questions and concerns she reassured me and gave me guidance. I was looking at a few different companies but am glad I settled on Off Leash K9 Training. The cost was worth all the knowledge Lila absorbed and practice she engaged in every day. I would definitely recommend this company and program to others who may be looking to improve the quality of life for their pet.

Christina did an amazing job with our 2 year old pittie! We adopted Jax about 2 months ago and when we brought him home there was a lot we knew we needed to work on with him. Christina was so amazing with him, they had a lot of fun together and I could tell he grew to love her too! He is so much better with all his commands and with stability, going on walks has become a breeze, and having him off leash has made not only us happy but Jax happy as well!

This has been one of our best decisions made using this company. I was very skeptical signing up. I chose the 14 day board and train program and was assigned with our trainer Channa. We have an 8 month old French bulldog that was full of energy and completely out of control. The word sit was out of the question. Fast forward 14 days later we were handed over a well mannered behaved dog. Exactly what was advertised is what we received. Channa was amazing, she was very communicative and listened very well to our concerns and addressed them all. Daily updates and videos to keep us informed of all the progress our dog made. Channa is truly a pro and has a passion to work with animals. If you are thinking of training your dog look no further I'm a true believer in this company and Channa, the final results will amaze you. Thank you very much Channa!!! I would definitely train another dog with off leash K9 in a heartbeat. Ask for Channa you won't be disappointed.

I got my dog trained by Adena and she did a phenomenal job. I chose the 7-day program. My dog was always pulling so much on walks, barking at people, and jumping on kids. Now he walks effortlessly through groups of people by my side and doesn't bark at anyone. Adena was so sweet & explained everything in detail. I definitely recommend to get your dog trained by them!

I'm super happy with my experience with Off Leash K9 and our trainer Channa. I was very scared to signup my golden retriever for a board and train program but it was needed as he was a bit out of control to the point that I didn't know what to do. From the moment I first contacted them with an inquiry, they were super responsive and attentive to my needs and concerns. Once training started, Channa was very good at communicating not only progress in regards to the training but also about Albus in general which made me feel like Albus was in good hands. Before training Albus had no confidence or stability and would pull so hard on a leash that it would make taking him for a walk more stressful than it needed to be. Now that Albus is back home it is amazing to see how well he does! We even took him to the pet store the other day and he did great at staying by my side and not even moving when other dogs would walk by whereas before training the would lose it and I had to use all of my strength to get him to not lunge at other dogs. We now even take longer walks as he just heels and my energy now goes into walking rather than trying to hold him! Albus continues to be the most amazing, loving dog but now we have control and now we can trust him in different environments. It has changed my relationship with him for the better and I cannot thank Channa enough for helping him but also helping me understand what kind of dog parent Albus needs! Thank you Channa and OffLeash K9!

This review is a little bit old but still needed to put it out there. We are VERY satisfied with he 2 week board and train we had our mastiff puppy, 5 moths at the time, Odin do with trainer Alyssa from Off Leash K9. He had zero manners and was horrible on the leash. He liked to pull really hard and would throw tantrums when out for walks. He now walks beautifully at heel even with my 14yo and 9yo. I love the commands they use (come, sit, down, place, off, break). It makes remembering what to say really easy with not having bunch of words to remember. Odin is now 10 months and is doing great. Keeping consistent and working with him daily helps a lot. We even get help if we have questions that need to be answered even now that he is back home. If we ever get another dog, big or small, I would do the training again in a heart beat.

My pups went for training at 5 months. They really were full of little crazy puppy behavior. Two weeks with Adam and these dogs are Rock Stars!! They sit, down, heel - wait at the door to let me in!! And they do this all on and off leash. This was an excellent investment improving the quality of my life with the pups and their life with me. I can take them anywhere. They have a whole repertoire of skills in just 2 weeks! They came home well trained but still the same loving happy pups they were before they left. I would strongly recommend Adam as the trainer if you go with this company. He is caring, attentive, knowledgeable and very responsive to owners. In addition you get a lifetime guarantee. If I have questions I am positive Adam & this company will rise to the occasion.

I couldn't find the Off Leash K9 for the Sacramento area but I'll leave my review here for that location. Peanut Butter my Chihuahua/Bichon Frise mix who is 3 years old went to Ashley as his trainer for a Board & Stay. I watched the Youtube videos for months before deciding to let Peanut go to this training program, as I wanted some professional training for him to get a step into becoming my Service Dog. (Keep in mind this company doesn't teach task work, but the obedience was a nice headstart, I taught Peanut his tasks after the fact). I liked Ashley inititally upon meeting her and I gave her a list of things I wanted her to mostly work out first that was the biggest priority for his training. She did amazing at teaching him his down stays and sit stays as well as heeling. Peanut went for this Board & Stay in January, 2017. But I also made a huge emphasis on how I wanted Peanut to be better socialized with people and animals in certain outdoor situations he'd be new to. I feel Ashley never really socialized him as much as I initially wanted her to but she did work him in public areas which was still good. When Peanut finally came back home his training showed flawlessly at the progress he had made. I was very excited to keep him on track, as I have. I'm not rich, but I paid the full price upfront because with the help from my community, friends and family, they donated ALL of the money needed to get Peanut his training knowing I was in need of training a dog to be my Service Dog for my medical needs. So not only was I holding my own expectations of the end result but the expectations of those who believed I chose the right place for my Peanut to go to for his adventure. Fast forward to current time. Peanut has improved 100% with his training that since Off Leash K9. He no longer is using the E-Collar to take direction and listens flawlessly other than needing refreshers on his off leash heeling. He is slightly reactive to men who try petting him but for the most part he is friendly to all now and still working it out since I had to grab help from an outside source to help me with this. He is now tasked train to help me deal with my disability since I spent many many hours training him to learn them. He is now doing Public Access and still working out some bugs. Off Leash K9 helped him as a stepping stone into the world of good obedience and dog manners. But I just felt some things were lacking for the price I paid.

We are so incredibly grateful that we found David with Off Leash K9 Training for our 9 month old German Shepherd/Husky puppy, Lilly. We originally tried training her ourselves to save money but she wasn't staying in her commands, she jumped up on us or on our sliding glass door constantly, she started chewing up our couch, books, base boards, in addition to the dozens of toys and various types of bones that we gave her. She is incredibly hyperactive, intelligent, but also super stubborn so that combination made it very difficult for us to train her properly. Due to being hyperactive, we would walk her everyday but hated every minute of it because she tugged so badly that she was pulling our arms out of our sockets and just didn't listen to us, especially if there were other distractions. We chose to do the popular 2 week Board and Train program due to our lifestyle and even though it isn't cheap by any means, it was so incredibly worth it. The cost was an investment in our dog that will last a lifetime and we have no regrets. We paid the cost up front, but they did mention that they have options for a payment plan. They also have other training options where you get to be the one to do all of the training. During the two weeks, David sent us videos and pictures of Lilly everyday showing us what he was teaching her and describing how she was doing. Then when we went to pick her up, he spent about two hours with us teaching us how to use the e-collar, then training us on how to train Lilly as well as walking us through the different commands. He made sure we left with no questions and that we felt comfortable with the e-collar. He also stated that if we ever have any questions, he is always available by text and if we need a refresher in the future, we can always contact him for that. After Lilly's training, we have not had any issues with chewing because we are now able to engage and stimulate her both mentally and physically which completely exhausts her. We have never seen her so tired after the training sessions we do with her! We can walk her now (and actually enjoy our time with her), both loose leash AND off leash and she actually listens to us!! She is a completely different dog from when we first dropped her off and we are absolutely blown away by how well she behaves now. We even took her to The Lazy Dog in Folsom and everyone was amazed at how well behaved she was compared to some of the other dogs there. I'm so ecstatic that I get to spend time with my dog and actually enjoy my time with her, instead of spending my time with her angry and frustrated. We are so glad that we went through with this training and I will always recommend it to all of my friends now!

Now that we are home, I am incredibly pleased with the outcome. Milot's behavior has shifted significantly for the better. Anthony spent two hours with me during pickup to ensure I understood the commands and techniques he used, and by implementing those daily, I've seen a massive difference in our routine. While the 'behind-the-scenes' of intensive training can feel a bit like a black box for a first-time owner, the results speak for themselves. If you are looking for a program that delivers a noticeable transformation, it is well worth the investment. I'm very happy with Milot's progress! Other things to note - Anthony was very responsive. Sent videos of progress and video chats as well - clean/brushed/bathe at least once before pickup - flexible with drop off and pickup Happy with the result. Highly recommend.

All I can say is: wow! My dog has never been happier and more well-behaved. Ironically, his approach, really, is about training you, the owner, to cultivate the behavior you want to see in your dog. He trains owners to address the root cause of behaviors, which leads to broad, systemic changes through energy-management and LOTS of positive reinforcement. Before finding Jaimie, I was worried I'd have to give my dog up to a sanctuary if I ever lived with another person who owned a dog because my dog's behavior was out of control. I no longer have that fear after training with Jaimie. He is truly a master of his craft, and I have full confidence his training techniques can work on any dog after seeing my dog's behavior transform. I have a 10 year old Shih Tzu that I adopted from the pound at 5 years old. She was constantly getting into trouble: jumping on furniture, marking in the house, pulling trash from trash cans, aggressive with kids and other dogs. I believed the folk wisdom that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks," and Jaimie shattered that myth within the first training session. Jaimie's approach is really quite simple, if you think about it: if you manage your dog's energy, and you set boundaries for your dog, you can create a completely new routine that your dog will adopt through your consistent, clear communication and praising good behavior. Over time, through consistency, you fall into a new routine, one where your dog listens and understands the expectations you've set, and it feels natural. Since beginning training, my Shih Tzu has stopped marking inside the house and outside during walks, stopped begging for food and stealing food from the toddler in my house, pulling trash from the trash cans, stopped barking at every little noise in the house, listens to my commands while walking on a leash, and no longer jumps on furniture. Additionally, she is generally happier, and more affectionate with every human she meets. Next, I'm planning to work with Jaimie on addressing my dog's anxiety with other dogs. All of the work the work you put into training really pays off, and I have full confidence that his techniques and attention to detail will help me guide my dog finally begin to trust other dogs. Trust the process, be patient with yourself and with your dog, remain consistent, and cultivate the behavior you want to see.

While we were previously able to minimize his exposure to his biggest triggers (strangers and unfamiliar dogs), we had just recently moved in with roommates and with new frequent guests visiting and the unpredictable sounds and activities in the house, his behavior got worse. Friends of ours that he was good with before were now constantly barked at and even almost bitten. We started to put him away when people visited, but even then he was constantly barking until they left. We were also losing a lot of sleep from the constant barking when any door opened or any noise occurred that he wasn't expecting, which was definitely hard to avoid with roommates around! We were definitely in over our heads, so we researched lots of different trainers in the area before reaching out to Lorenzo's. It was super important for us to find a trainer that was firm yet fair and who we could trust with our dog. Our trainer Nai hit all the marks! From the first 15 minute we spent with her, it was astonishing to us how knowledgeable, capable and understanding she was of Ollie's behavior and our situation. He actually tried to bite her multiple times and I swear she didn't even flinch . We were honestly so impressed at how quickly she was able to get him to listen to her while also being very fair in her training style and not unnecessarily dominant/aggressive that we knew we could trust her to do a 10 day board and train with him for his obedience training. Its definitely pricey to get your dog trained with level of expertise, but it was worth it! The frequent photo, video and text updates we got of his progress were very nice and reassuring that we made the right choice too. When Ollie came back, it was then our turn to to be trained by Nai and to make sure to be consistent. He is definitely a very stubborn and strong willed dog, and no doubt the first few days of having him back trying to practice the homework we got while he was relentlessly trying to default into his old ways, was super rough on us, but Nai was nice enough to call and check in to see if we had any questions or needed any help. Throughout the whole progress she has been super encouraging and supportive of us. Within even a week, we were more confident in ourselves and Ollie was already a way more behaved than he had ever been. As we went through our weekly lessons with Nai to progressively challenge Ollie to make sure he listened in more distracting environments and in situations that would previously trigger him, we grew more confident in ourselves and Ollie's reliability. It is so crazy nice to be able to go on a walk without a dog who pulls constantly and to not have to cross the street to avoid other dogs. We just finished our last official lesson with Nai but will be going to the free monthly pack walks and group classes! While Ollie isn't perfect yet and there are still things we're working on, we are so thankful for how much he has changed and for Nai's big help along the way. She reminded us that transformation takes time, and every small victory was a step closer to our goal. Now, two years later, I can hardly believe the progress we've made. My once highly reactive pup is far from perfect, but he's come such a long way. He's starting to make friends, can interact with other dogs more calmly, and is beyond more manageable than before. Walks used to be filled with anxiety, but now they're something we can enjoy. Looking back, all the hard work has been so worth it. I've learned that patience, consistency, and truly committing to your dog makes all the difference. Janice didn't just change our dog's life--she changed ours too. She gave us the tools and understanding we needed to keep pushing forward, even when progress felt slow. If you're looking to go beyond the basics and truly transform your relationship with your dog, Janice is the one to go to. She'll guide you, challenge you, and help you unlock the best version of your pup and yourself. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.
