I first heard about Lorenzo's Dog Training via a pamphlet from my Vet's office. I finally went with them after a bad experience with a trainer from a different company. Nai was our trainer from Lorenzo's who saved the day. From her first visit it was clear that she was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about dogs. Before the sessions with Nai, I had issues with my Dobie pulling and lunging on walks, barking at other dogs, and with general obedience. I had stopped walking her because it was so frustrating. With Nai's guidance we have completely turned things around. As Nai says "Trust the process" It's hard to believe my pup is now being obedient off leash as well. I've even gotten compliments from strangers who tell me she is so well trained. You do have to put in the work and continue with it after the formal training is over but the payoff is priceless. Nai has given me the tools to properly communicate with my pup. Our walks are now one of the best and peaceful parts of my day. The results more than justify the cost of the training. My only regret is not contacting them sooner.
We had a 100 lb 5 year-old chocolate lab that ruled our world (and we (happily) let him!). But we knew that there were certain behaviors that just weren't going to cut it, especially knowing we wanted to start a family soon. We worked with Janice and we are so grateful we did! The idea of training made us nervous because we loved so much of Moose's personality and feared that training would change him and our relationship with him. We can happily say that he is still just as lovey and snuggly, but better understands his place within our family. Our perception with other trainers always felt cold and lacked a true connection with the dog. Throughout our training sessions, it was apparent that Janice truly cared about Moose and his progress. Working with Janice was dedicated one-on-one time to understand how Moose was feeling and how we could better support him or modify his behavior knowing his triggers. Janice came to our home for an initial evaluation where she asked thorough questions to understand what we liked about Moose, issues we encountered with Moose, and what we'd like to see out of the training. From the get go, it felt like a personalized approach and they meet you where your dog is at. Moose was reactive on walks and being near other dogs, experienced anxiety and resource guarding behavior, and had selective listening. From the first couple sessions, we immediately noticed improvements in Moose and how he looked to us for direction instead of being in the drivers seat himself. We found the training sessions to be clear and allowed us both to practice handling him working through different commands. Janice was always open to questions and helped us feel more confident throughout the process because we were learning too! She shared practical techniques that set us up for success in working with Moose. I can now walk Moose with ease without my husband there because I know he is looking to me for direction. Never thought I would say that! He is more relaxed because he doesn't have to be on alert all the time. It can be challenging to stay strong on the training as your dog will push boundaries to see what they can get away with, but consistency is key and it is absolutely worth it. Your dog will thank you because they know what to expect and you see it continue to pay off. Fast forward to Moose's graduation and we could not be more proud of his progress and just how grateful we are to have worked with Janice! Thank you Janice!!!
Zoe is our first pup and we wanted to make sure we established a great relationship with her while giving her the structure that she needs. We wanted to be able to take Zoe everywhere so she could hang out with us at work, the park, stores, you name it. All of that was possible because we found Janice with Lorenzo's Dog Training. Janice did a fantastic job on Zoe's early training that really set her up for success. You could tell Zoe really loved Janice too because when Janice came to do a home visit, Zoe just tried her best to contain her excitement but her out of control tail wagging just gave it away! We highly recommend Janice as your for babies trainer! Not only because of how effective her training is but because she truly cares. We still chat today! Janice still reaches out to check in and I know I could reach out the her anytime if I ever had a question.
5 Stars isn't enough for Janice and Lorenzo's Dog Training Team. Our little " schnoodle" was giving us a run for our money. After training with Janice, it's like we have a new dog. Lorenzo's dog training team works with you and your dog. Since the training, we actually have people ask us if we got a new dog! She's so well behaved! Janice is very professional and very knowledgeable. She's reliable and was always available with any questions we might have had. It seemed our dog knew what she was supposed to do.. I think we were the problem! Lol! This is an intense training program but well worth the money and the time you put into it. You won't be disappointed in the results and your dog will thank you too.
We cannot be more thankful for Janice! She was absolutely fantastic training our pup, Luka. Luka is 80 pounds of pure stubbornness. He would pull on his leash, couldn't follow basic commands, and he was way too curious about other dogs. Because of his size, we knew that we needed some help. Janice and Nai came to evaluate Luka and just after a few minutes, we knew that this was training for us and him. Janice was super helpful and communicative throughout the entire process. We never thought in a million years that Luka would be able to walk and play at the park off leash. We get so many compliments everywhere we go about how well behaved he is, which would not be the case if we didn't have Janice. Janice held us accountable with the training, which definitely helped build and strengthen our relationship with our pup! We HIGHLY recommend Janice to anyone thinking about training their dog!
Janice has been such a blessing to our family. We had gone through basic obedience training before meeting her, but were dealing with a reactive and anxious dog. It was even more difficult not knowing what was causing our dog's triggers as we had recently rescued her. Before this training, our dog jumped on people, growled and barked at everyone and everything she saw pass by our window, pulled on leashes, and was reactive towards bikes, kids, scooters, flying balls, etc. Fast forward to graduating with Janice... our dog is HAPPY. She is RELAXED. Yes, she still has her triggers but we are able to manage them and she looks to us for guidance because she knows her parents are in charge. I cannot thank Janice enough for giving us this peace of mind and helping us build a much more solid relationship with our fur baby.
We worked with Janice Saechao and she was awesome to work with! She helped us get Raja to the next level and he would never have gotten there without Janice's help! She explained things to my family in a very positive way and helped us get all on the same page. I definitely recommend Lorenzo's Dog Training Team if you want great results and an excellent team.
Our dog Maui was trained by Janice at LDTT. We were tired of Maui lunging and barking at other dogs when we were out walking. He was constantly barking at the Amazon deliveries and visitors. We had tried some many training tips but it was not helping. We were at wits end with Maui. So we called Janice at LDTT for a consultation and we embarked on our training journey. Maui was boarded for a week with Janice and then came back home to train with us. Janice would come to our house 2x week to train and we had homework after every class. It was not just training for the dog but for the hoomans as well. After the month was over, Maui was like a different dog. He was able to do all obedience commands, stay calm when people came over to our house, no longer lung or bark at other dogs on our walks and even walk off leash! He is much better behaved and much calmer now. It is pretty amazing to see and I can tell you that Janice is truly the dog whisperer. We are forever grateful for her help in getting Maui better behaved. It's such a joy to be able to go on a relaxed walk with Maui now. We can take Maui out places and not have to worry. It was a lot of hard work but it was all worth it! Sign your dog up to get trained by Janice at LDTT! You will not regret it! Best thing we did for ourselves and Maui.
It was a pleasure to work with Nai. She was very knowledgeable, sweet, and patient with our family. We were amazed at how well-trained Oatly has become. In two months of house training with Nai, we witnessed the results daily and built a strong bond with our pup. There is no doubt that Lorenzo training is worth the money.
Lorenzo's Dog Training was professional, helpful, and insightful. I have to a give shout to our trainer, Janice Saechao, who was the amazing throughout the entire process. Her dedication and knowledge of the training program really shined during the initial weeks of the program. My wife and I put our 12 week old St.Bernard/Bernese Mountain through the program. Being a first time dog owner I was looking for my dog to show respect, obedience, and develop an overall healthy relationship with myself and my wife. The program not only accomplished all my needs but, provided an everlasting training foundation to build on that will make our dog companion competent and confident. It was almost like a on and off switch was installed in her. This was helpful because the world outside can be so unpredictable and having the ability to I have your dog listen to you in a moments notice will be helpful in serious situations. Again, I want to thank our trainer Janice for being helpful, yet professional the entire process. I highly recommend the program to all dog owners.
Lorenzo's Dog training team has literally been life changing for me and my puppies. Nai helped turned my crazy stubborn Chihuahua into a super well behaved gentlemen. Little Aries never listened and would be reactive towards other dogs. He now listens so well and behaves amazing on walks. Nai even did a few sessions including my other dog Athena who was previously trained by Rene from Lorenzo's as well. Athena's quality of life was made 100x better by the training. I'm so grateful to be able to take my dogs out in public and have them behave so well.
Nai, was excellent! My puppy Rulli did not listen, was uncontrollable on a leash, he would bite us, and never did I imagine he would one day be heeling with out a leash. He is now a totally different dog he listens, never bites us anymore, and can heel off leash. Even his behavior in our home has greatly improved - no more counter surfing lol. Nai is extremely knowledgable and has lots of patience both with dogs and their owners. She is always open to answering questions and knowing what's best for every issue we had with our puppy. Thank you Nai! :)
Janice was amazing! Our dog, Hima, was dog and people reactive. She used to drag us down the street and freak out/lunge/cry/bark at every little thing. She has come so far since working with Janice. Janice boarded her for about a week and when Hima came back, she was like a new dog. We learned how to work better and properly enforce training with Hima. She actually listens to us now, doesn't whine at noises (apartment living), and is just less anxious all around. We enjoy our walks now. We can now walk past the dog park without her trying to lunge/bark at other dogs which I never imagined we would have been able to do. We have come so far from the anxious, reactive pup we adopted and we couldn't be happier. We couldn't have done it without Janice and look forward to continuing to work with her in the future!

We got our Doberman when he was just 4 months old--full of energy, curiosity, and a whole lot of attitude. As first-time dog owners, we knew training would be crucial, but we had no idea how unprepared we really were. From the start, it felt like our dog was more than we could handle--his reactivity, stubbornness, and boundless energy left us overwhelmed and unsure of what to do. That's when we found Janice, and honestly, it was the best decision we could have made. Janice didn't just teach us how to train our dog--she trained us to be confident, patient, and capable handlers, completely shifting our perspective on what it means to be good, responsible dog owners. She helped us understand that training isn't about quick fixes or basic obedience; it's about building trust, consistency, and understanding the "why" behind your dog's behavior. She gave us the tools and confidence to stay patient and capable, even when things felt impossible. The process wasn't and hasn't been easy. There were tears, moments of frustration, and times we felt like giving up. Our Doberman was stubborn and reactive, and progress sometimes felt painfully slow. But Janice was there every step of the way, offering support and reassurance when we needed it most. She reminded us that transformation takes time, and every small victory was a step closer to our goal. Now, two years later, I can hardly believe the progress we've made. My once highly reactive pup is far from perfect, but he's come such a long way. He's starting to make friends, can interact with other dogs more calmly, and is beyond more manageable than before. Walks used to be filled with anxiety, but now they're something we can enjoy. Looking back, all the hard work has been so worth it. I've learned that patience, consistency, and truly committing to your dog makes all the difference. Janice didn't just change our dog's life--she changed ours too. She gave us the tools and understanding we needed to keep pushing forward, even when progress felt slow. If you're looking to go beyond the basics and truly transform your relationship with your dog, Janice is the one to go to. She'll guide you, challenge you, and help you unlock the best version of your pup and yourself. I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat. read more
My boyfriend and I sought out Lorenzo's because our pup Ollie was becoming progressively more difficult to control. While we were previously able to minimize his exposure to his biggest triggers (strangers and unfamiliar dogs), we had just recently moved in with roommates and with new frequent guests visiting and the unpredictable sounds and activities in the house, his behavior got worse. Friends of ours that he was good with before were now constantly barked at and even almost bitten. We started to put him away when people visited, but even then he was constantly barking until they left. We were also losing a lot of sleep from the constant barking when any door opened or any noise occurred that he wasn't expecting, which was definitely hard to avoid with roommates around! We were definitely in over our heads, so we researched lots of different trainers in the area before reaching out to Lorenzo's. It was super important for us to find a trainer that was firm yet fair and who we could trust with our dog. Our trainer Nai hit all the marks! From the first 15 minute we spent with her, it was astonishing to us how knowledgeable, capable and understanding she was of Ollie's behavior and our situation. He actually tried to bite her multiple times and I swear she didn't even flinch . We were honestly so impressed at how quickly she was able to get him to listen to her while also being very fair in her training style and not unnecessarily dominant/aggressive that we knew we could trust her to do a 10 day board and train with him for his obedience training. Its definitely pricey to get your dog trained with level of expertise, but it was worth it! The frequent photo, video and text updates we got of his progress were very nice and reassuring that we made the right choice too. When Ollie came back, it was then our turn to to be trained by Nai and to make sure to be consistent. He is definitely a very stubborn and strong willed dog, and no doubt the first few days of having him back trying to practice the homework we got while he was relentlessly trying to default into his old ways, was super rough on us, but Nai was nice enough to call and check in to see if we had any questions or needed any help. Throughout the whole progress she has been super encouraging and supportive of us. Within even a week, we were more confident in ourselves and Ollie was already a way more behaved than he had ever been. As we went through our weekly lessons with Nai to progressively challenge Ollie to make sure he listened in more distracting environments and in situations that would previously trigger him, we grew more confident in ourselves and Ollie's reliability. It is so crazy nice to be able to go on a walk without a dog who pulls constantly and to not have to cross the street to avoid other dogs. We just finished our last official lesson with Nai but will be going to the free monthly pack walks and group classes! While Ollie isn't perfect yet and there are still things we're working on, we are so thankful for how much he has changed and for Nai's big help along the way. We will definitely be signing up our future dogs with LDTT read more

2-1/2 months ago, we took our Staffy puppies to the vet, and they were so out of control that he gave us a pamphlet for Lorenzo's with a "You might want to think about this." By then, we'd stopped going to the dog park, couldn't even consider taking them on errands or on vacation, and they had to be walked individually or they'd pull off in opposite directions. We needed help. During our first evaluation with Nai, she promised us that she'd have them walking off-leash, in public, in 8 weeks, guaranteed. We laughed. And then we plunked down our money and said, "Sign us up." She did it in 5. The lessons were succinct, easy to follow, and she was always available over text to answer any questions during the week. Each lesson built on the one before it so that by day 4 we were just practicing and eager for a new challenge. She was kind yet firm to our squirmy puppies and happily answered all our helicopter parent questions. She was flexible with her schedule, fun to hang out with when we got to the down-stay-in-the-park phase, and our dogs adore her. We now look forward to taking the dogs on new adventures, have the skills to train any future dogs, and are now "those people" who get compliments on how well their dogs behave. I cannot stress enough that it was worth every penny. read more

THANK YOU NAI! Our family is completely new to having a puppy. I researched and watched endless videos on what to expect and how to start training a new puppy but all of the research was essentially useless. The first few months were tough and we couldn't enjoy our puppy Ramen as we had all hoped, especially my boys. He was nibbing like crazy and refused to listen. Ramen ripped so much of my son's clothing. He was also super reactive to other people and dogs. All he wanted to do was play and was very defiant when we wanted to discipline him. We were all stressed out and were missing out on so much of his puppy phase. Nai transformed our relationship with Ramen. She showed us all the methods, discipline techniques and was amazing throughout the process. She had a suggestion or solution to every question and/or issue we had. Our puppy is so pleasant to be around now. Our youngest son is the most timid one and was always on guard with Ramen around. Now, he is fearless around him and is always trying to teach him new tricks. We all love him so much and it is such a bonus to be able to trust him and have him enjoy everything with us. If you are at that point of not knowing what to do or just want to be prepared with a new puppy, I highly recommend training with Nai and/or her team. They seriously work miracles. read more

Teacher Nai is AMAZING!!!! We have two pitties, a 2 year old & 1 year old. Our one year old is the wild child! Super sweet/loving but did not get along well with other dogs & was a very dominant dog. We truly felt there was no hope and even considered getting rid of him because we love to take our dogs everywhere and felt it wasn't possible to do that anymore. Teacher Nai was our last result and she blew us away, she changed our lives and our dogs lives for the better!! Beau can be around dogs now, well behaved, go out in public places now, & on leash is overall amazing now! Teacher Nai is super friendly & genuinely LOVES & wants to help make a positive impact in your dogs life!! 100% recommend the training!! read more

To summarize, René and Lorenzo's dog training turned our little rescue dog, Nico- who was highly aggressive, couldn't take him anywhere, and biting friends and family- into the kind of dog that will stop strangers in their tracks...to marvel at how well trained he is. He is not "cured", but the peace of mind we have now with Nico 2.0 is priceless, as is the obvious improvement in Nico's anxiety level. This program enabled us to build the kind of relationship we wanted with our dog and helps to ensure he can remain ours forever. Some considerations: Lorenzo's is one of the few trainers in the area that we found that specializes in aggressive dogs and offers one-on-one training, extremely important for our situation. Of course that does come at a premium. The technique is a combination of positive reinforcement via praise as well as physical correction. The initial evaluation can be a bit shocking, rather like breaking a horse. If you are sensitive to that type of thing, maybe try another trainer first. We tried to train Nico ourselves based on research online, where you will only see 100% positive reinforcement techniques, but everything was like putting a bandaid on a gushing wound. For us, the discomfort involved with this method is worth the result. To be effective, this program requires long-term diligence from the owners, beyond the actual training sessions. This means multiple practice sessions a day and controlled interaction 24hrs a day for many months. We look forward to the group classes to help us keep the momentum. René was very patient and clear in our sessions, and gave a rationale for everything we were doing. He was also quick to respond to our many questions (we are new to dog ownership), although sometimes he could be condescending. That said, the work he did with our dog is truly amazing and we are so grateful. Best of luck with your pup! read more

If I could give 20 stars, i would!! Kida was our first ever pup together who was definitely a wild child from the start. Shes a sweet girl but very excited & right away we knew we wanted to make sure her manners were tidied before she got older. Right away we contacted Nai for help. She is so amazing at what she does both helping Us & Kida build that safe and well mannered relationship! Not once we're we ever uncomfortable when asking questions and felt judged when we were unsure if anything. We are so thankful for her, and will definitely be recommending her to all!! read more

Working with René was the best decision we could have made for our dog and our family. Echo used to pull on walks, chase after squirrels and lunge at people and dogs walking by. It was a safety concern for him, whoever was walking him, and whoever was walking past him on the sidewalk. Since our work with René, Echo is a much more calm and happy dog. He loves to listen, follow commands, and take walks in crowded areas. He doesn't lunge or pull and he is no longer a safety liability. We'll continue implementing René's training for the rest of our life. read more

Once again the best experience you can have training your dog. When I got my Vizsla, I thought I could train her on my own based on what I had learned from using LDTT in the past on a previous dog. Janice made it easy for me to remember the basics of obedience, but I quickly realized my Vizsla needed a bit more training specific to her anxiety. I was so skeptical that she would be able to overcome her issues - she hated car rides, would get startled at any loud noise, scramble for help at the sight of any unfamiliar objects or dogs, and lost focus of me when distractions were present. However I trusted the process and Janice's superpowers, and now I have a much more confident dog. Janice helped me learn how to lead and get my dog to trust me and not feel like she has to be in control when she's scared. Does she still jump at the sound of the garbage truck? Yes. Will she ever love the car? I don't know. But the difference now is that she looks to me for what to do and to know she is safe, and it's not a pain to go places anymore. Janice gave me the techniques to help my dog conquer her fears, gain confidence, and trust me. The ability to manage her anxiety and fear has made our lives so much easier. Janice is the best and knows what to do in any situation! As long as you put in the work and consistency, you will have amazing results! I'd recommend LDTT and Janice for any dog of any temperament! read more

First, I want to point out the reviewer who gave only one star to Lorenzo's training team. He either didn't know what he was getting into or hasn't gone to many training courses. Lorenzo's team was very upfront with their methods/equipment and although may seem strict, it is sometimes necessary when other training styles are not effective. As for our experience, we've tried other training courses promoting positive reinforcement from corporate, big chain pet stores and unfortunately, they were hit-and-miss with the quality of training and did not prove effective with our dog. The problems with corporate pet stores are 1) retail is their main mission, not training, and 2) their trainers' experience/expertise is dependent on the quality of their seasonal staff. As for Lorenzo's team, each member is highly trained/professional, and their methods work to teach our dog commands and good behavior. Now we primarily only use verbal commands, and we rarely need to use correction. Specifically, our main trainer, Nai, was very professional, encouraging, responsive, and pleasant to work with. She provided hands-on training for both our 1-year-old Welsh Terrier, Malibu, and ourselves as owners. When we were unable to conduct the level of training necessary to establish fundamentals, Nai offered short-term boarding for consistent training. We are very happy with the results of our training and couldn't be happier with the level of service Nai and the rest of the team provided. Thanks so much! "I can't deny that Nai was the paw-fect instructor for me!" -Malibu the Welshie read more

My dog was trained by Janice and I couldn't be more grateful. I did a lot of base training. But they really brought it home. I am 100% confident in my dog now and she looks to me for direction. She is an absolute joy to have and Janice from Lorenzo Dog Training made it possible very much worth it. read more

Hopefully you are considering LDTT because you don't want to settle for just basic sit/stay commands. You'll never regret having the best behaved dog around. For some reason people just accept that a moderately trained dog is okay. Well it isn't. I came looking for obedience training for my 6 month old puppy and I let Janice know on day one that I wanted Ranger to be able to be off leash without issue and only then would I be satisfied. There were other options out there, but LDTT is serious when they say their training is serious. Janice was an absolutely fantastic trainer throughout the process. She's on time, available for help when needed and thoughtful about the process. Be prepared that the early weeks are tough, but if you give it the attention it deserves, you will see amazing outcomes. By the end of the program, your dog will be the best dog around. I know that I can walk Ranger off leash and he will be by my side the entire time. It is truly a rewarding experience to have a dog as trained as this. I couldn't be happier with the process, the results, and with Ranger. We will have a lifetime of memories ahead. read more

We could not be more impressed with the quality of training, exceptional service and knowledge we received from Rene, Nai and Janice (Sacramento Team). Since graduating from training, our relationship and bond with our dogs is stronger than we could have imagined. We have improved our family's quality of life, as now we can take our dogs anywhere and feel confident that they are safe and know that they will be extremely well-mannered. We are "furever' customers! read more

We can't recommend this business enough! Some people saw our dog down town and came up to us to socialize. They mentioned Lorenzo's dog training and said it changed their dogs behavior completely, and made for a better relationship between dog and owner. We decided to try it for ourselves and the results were astounding. After the training with Nai we feel perfectly comfortable going on walks outside or on hikes and our dog can be off the leash the entire time and is so well behaved. He is still the same fun loving dog he has always been but his behavior is amazing. I have seen a lot of different techniques for training animals, and I absolutely think this is the best method that I have seen. read more

My German Shepard was about 5 months old and I was struggling to train him due to my work schedule. He would constantly pull when on his leash and be almost unresponsive to my commands unless I had a treat ready. I felt that we were so far behind on training and obedience that I knew it was going to be significantly harder down the road if we didn't get help. On the day of our evaluation, Janice amazed me the moment she handled his leash and worked with him. She did all the work I was trying to do for months in a short amount of time! By the end of the evaluation, he was obeying and following her like he was her dog lol. At that point I knew we had to train with her. Janice is professional, fun, and chill. With her knowledge and down to earth personality, made this experience very enjoyable and I am grateful she was able to train us! Now my Shepard walks next to me and is more obedient and responsive to my commands. I would've never imagined we would make so much progress and see our bond grow within a short time with Janice's guidance. Lorenzo's Dog Training Team is there to guide but you have to hold yourself accountable and make sure you're continuing the training. If you want a peace of mind and are looking for training for both yourself and companion, I highly recommend you schedule an evaluation with Lorenzo's Dog Training Team! read more

Working with Janice from Lorenzo's Dog Training has seriously been life changing. The training truly exceeded my expectations for how far my dog would develop and learn in such a short amount of time. Janice was extremely patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and motivating throughout the whole process and I could tell that she truly cared about the well-being of my dog. I would make the decision over and over again to use Janice as our trainer and I will refer her to any person who I know that is looking for serious results. It was truly a pleasure working with Janice and I look forward to continuing onto new training ventures with her! read more

We've had a great experience with Lorenzo's training program and our trainer Janice. She taught our very happy puppy to be calm in her surroundings and listen to our commands, including our toddler. Her being calm around him was one of our main objectives. Great program and great trainers.thanks Janice! read more

I have no words but a huge THANK YOU to Janice!! Beeno's grown so much since we started our sessions and I am so grateful. Janice was patient, professional, and also SO positive about the outcomes as each training went. She always reminded me to be patient with Beeno and myself to make sure our relationship is growing along too. I appreciate Janice and this program so much; if you're hesitating, please at least get an eval - this program's making waves and it's so worth it to be a part of it! read more

I didn't know what to do after my Husky jumped up a bit my son in the face. Nothing I tried worked. The consultation I received gave me a lot of confidence that they were very knowledgeable about what specific corrective action was necessary. At the time, I really didn't have the money but WOW it was soooo worth it. my son and I worked closely Nai and Janice. They are truly amazing!! Very professional and sincere. My Husky is a completely different dog. My son is no longer afraid of him and our dog has never attempted any further aggressive behavior. I can't stress enough how valuable the training Nai and Janice taught my Husky. They made themselves available to answer whatever questions I had. The progress reports were extremely detailed that I was able to recount the exact details of the commands from his training. Im beyond impressed and I give 10 stars to them both! read more
