Scottsdale is like the mecca for brunch and the competition is fierce. I went for Mother's Day and made the mistake of not making a reservation until 2 days before. Fortunately OEB had a few openings so we were fortunate to get a spot. The ambiance inside was cute and cozy and made for a nice Mother's Day. The menu has so many great options and it was hard to choose! I ended up with the Smoke Show (brisket eggs benny). The portion was smaller than I expected, but it was more filling than it looked. More importantly, it tasted great. The sauce and brisket were perfect, and the poached eggs were amazing. Perfect texture and I could definitely taste the richness of farm-fresh eggs. We visited this breakfast spot on Mother's Day and arrived shortly after they opened at 7 AM, fully expecting a holiday rush. We were greeted and seated right away, and someone quickly brought us coffee, which gave us a good first impression. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. Shortly after seating guests, the entire waitstaff went outside for a team huddle that lasted about 5-10 minutes. After they came back in, it took another several minutes before anyone acknowledged that we were ready to order. During that time, many employees were gathered behind the bar drinking energy drinks, with a pile of personal beverages stacked in the corner, which made the area feel cluttered and unprofessional. When someone finally came over, she explained that things were a little disconnected because they needed to have a meeting before the rush. While I understand wanting to prepare for a busy holiday morning, it felt poorly timed considering guests were already seated and waiting. The food itself was just mediocre. We ordered a traditional breakfast, and one odd moment was when the server asked if we wanted our eggs "wet or dry." When I asked what "wet" meant, she explained it meant undercooked eggs, which was not exactly appetizing. Overall, the service felt disorganized and the food didn't make up for it. I'm thrilled I stumbled upon OEB Breakfast Co., because I found a breakfast spot that was off the chain. First off, when I walked in, I was greeted with a warm welcome, and friendly faces, and enough smiles to light up a room. The decor was pretty snazzy too. My waitress was super helpful. I was loving the menu, the dishes had some hilarious names. I was torn between a Threesome, but then I thought the Gold Digga sounded awesome, but then I was like, All Eyes On Me might be the way to go. Then I checked out the non-breakfast items and the Notorious B.T.A sounded like a good choice too. In the end, I went with breakfast and it was ridiculously good. Absolutely sensational. I had the buttermilk pancakes with fresh hot cinnamon apples. The pancakes werent dense a plus, but they weren't fluffy either. The latter I wish they were but they were tasty and filling. The apples was a big win. The whipped butter was strong too. I am surprised they do not make their own fresh OJ. The wait was about forty minutes which was a little annoying, but usually when there is a line it means the food is good. My friends loved their meals, but for me it felt like it was missing a little touch. I cannot put my finger on what it was, but it just did not fully hit for me even though everything tasted fresh and well made. I am also very picky with breakfast spots, so that might be why. One thing that surprised me was that the orange juice was not fresh squeezed. For a place with such a clean vibe, I expected that. Overall the food was good and the service was friendly. Today my friend and I went to OEB for the first time. OEB stands for Outstanding People, Embracing Evolution and Bold Food Integrity. They are a true farm to table restaurant that prides itself on serving seasonal fresh ingredients. What a bright, welcoming space. The restaurant is very open and warm. We just loved the menu! There were so many interesting options, it was hard to decide what to order. I ended up getting the Holy Crab Eggs Benny. It's served on a butter croissant with a half poached jammy egg and buttery hollandaise sauce. It was delicious! It came with fried herb potatoes. My girlfriend ordered the Halloumi Cheese Benny. It was pan roasted Halloumi cheese with a charred corn, tomato jalapeño salsa. She ordered it with a side of arugula. It was delicious too! We both had mimosas with grapefruit juice. Our server was very attentive. The manger even came over and checked on us to see how everything was. Great, friendly staff all around. I can't wait to come back and try one of their Breakfast Bowls, the Lobster and Shrimp Crepe, and one of their Bloody Mary's. My only suggestion is to have some sort of coasters on the wood tables as the water glasses and drinks sweat and our table was wet. This is for sure a new favorite breakfast/lunch spot! My friend and I both ordered one of their egg benny's to share. She ordered their holy crab and I ordered the haullomi cheese benny. All of their egg benny's have poached eggs served on a real butter croissant with brown butter hollandaise. Absolutely delicious! For a side, one of us got their arugula and the other got their herb fried potatoes. Everything was fantastic!! Their menu looks so good, I can't wait to come back to try something else. This place got great reviews on Yelp and had a most interesting menu so we tried it out. I am very glad we did. There were 8 of us in our party and were a bit hungry after our hike this morning. We were greeted and sat promptly. The owner/manager was very pleasant and so was our server. The interior was spacious and bright which made for a nice experience. Food was simply wonderful. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast immensely. We had a variety of things. I had the poutine with short ribs and duck fat home fries. HOLY CRAP! It was awesome! Crab Benedict is something I just can't resist. They use wild blue crab meat -- not even battered (not like a crab cake) -- and instead of English muffin, it's served on a butter croissant. The brown butter hollandaise sauce isn't overly rich and works perfectly with poached eggs. One of the signature dishes here is something similar to Canadian poutine. You can choose different kinds of meat and vegetables to go on top of the fries, along with two poached eggs. I have to say, they really know how to cook poached eggs -- just perfectly done. The fries aren't too salty and are fried really well. You can even opt for half fries and half arugula. We ordered 'Do not even go there' to share - a crepe filled with custard, banana, and berries. At first, I thought it looked too big to finish, but surprisingly, it wasn't overly sweet or heavy! Also, my husband likes their coffee, it's really good. Drinks and food came out SO fast, it felt like it was within 2 minutes of ordering. I got the classic breakfast with eggs over easy, potatoes, chicken sausage and sourdough. You could tell the quality of the ingredients were elite. The yolk of the eggs were a rich orange, the potatoes were some of the best breakfast potatoes I've ever had, perfectly crispy! Probably the best looking French toast I ever had. Looks gorgeous and perfect. But was disappointed with the taste. Lemon curbs were too sour and French toast has strong egg taste to it. Service is very good and they have big parking lot too. Ambiance is decent Update: Went in again, had heirloom avocado sandwich and requested to customize "do not even go there" which usually comes with a crepe to brioche French toast. We had a classic breakfast, a zillion dollar waffle, vegetarian scramblette and a duck confit bowl with potatoes, poached eggs and cranberry jam. Very large and interesting menu.
