I started using an old wallet once belonging to my grandfather. He never used it, actually, so it was essentially new. However, the stitching was as old as the wallet (probably 60 years) so it began to deteriorate fairly quickly. I just sort of let it do its thing for a while until basically I was walking around with a deconstructed wallet. So I brought it here, and bam, good as new. They had to amend a few matching leather pieces to it unfortunately, as the existing flaps were fairly frayed, but it looks great and is functional once more. Great quality and price! I'm very happy with the experience. read more

Odsy Workshop - Shoe Repair Near Me - San Francisco, California

This place is the best! I first came to Odsy to have a vintage Harajuku bag's straps repaired. Jin fixed the bag, made it look brand new. Jin and his wife both sell their own handmade wares varying from beautiful leather products, some pottery, aprons face masks etc. I ordered a Navy blue men's watch band to be worn as a bracelet. I love it! The quality is beyond what I was expecting. The day I went in to pick up my bag and order the watch band, my husband and I spent some time talking to Jin. This man truly loves what he is doing and it was a really pleasure to meet someone who took the time to engage with his customers. This place is great for shoe repairs and bag repairs, he also recommended some jewelers to help me with my bracelet. This is the kind of business I love to support, thanks Jin! read more

Service is great, does a great job- but takes a long time and very expensive. I'm still waiting for a bag 2 months later

We met with the owner and requested restoration of my daughters heels for her leather boots. She relies on them for riding around her campus at college. The owner had no issue taking the boots and promising to restore them with a pre-fair proposal Services. We agreed to it and he were restored them, I'm very happy with the results. I wish I was more. I could do to share how happy we are with the product. read more

A spa retreat for your leather goods (at reasonable prices): Restored three of my well-loved, leather handbags...so now I can take them out for spring and summer sans frayed-up handles and scuffed-up corners. My old, tired bags went from disreputable to wonderful. When you pay top dollar for quality items, you must have a leather goods expert who will help you keep your things looking fresh and beautiful. It's hard to find a good cobbler these days but I finally gave up on my old-school guy who never finished in the promised timeline. Odsy was right on time. Very happy with how well they re-soled an unusual pair of boots and the price was reasonable. I live in the Mission and do not mind driving out to the Avenues for such quality work! read more

I visited Odsy back when they were on Taraval and started this review but never finished it. Thought it was about time! :) A couple years ago, I had brought in three pairs of heeled boots - two that were pretty cheap and one that were a nice pair of suede ones. Upon inspection, one of the pairs was "totaled" -- I was told that it could be fixed, but it would likely cost more than the shoes were worth and, while it was ultimately up to me if I wanted to fix them, he advised me that it wasn't worth it. I was really impressed by the honesty because they could've just easily made the fix and just charged me for it. When I went to pick up the shoes a couple weeks later (I was in no rush and they were particularly busy at the time) the other two shoes were beautifully fixed. I brought them into work and showed all my coworkers and no one could believe that the shoes had been messed up at all. I wish I had taken before/after photos because the repairs were just so, so impressive. I have recommended Odsy to anyone who has needed any sort of shoe or leather good fix. I honestly would trust anything to them! read more

I had defaulted to my neighborhood cobbler off Clement for over a decade not because he was good, but because he was close. Once he retired during the pandemic lockdown a while back, I was in need of a new cobbler and am so glad that I found Soojin. My old cobbler wasn't particularly skilled, but he was fast, very reasonably priced, and so convenient. Soojin charges more than they did, but he also talks through the process, offers me honest opinions on what work is and isn't doable, and has always done a bang-up job. My asks have ranged from touching up scuffs on my husband's dress shoes to throwing taps on some luxury sneakers to a total resole, attempted reshank, and tear repair of some old boots. The first went wonderfully and the last wasn't as successful as I had wished, but he was straightforward with me about the age and fragility of the material and set very fair expectations. It's hard to find someone who understands the more niche leather goods that I like to purchase, so having a artisan like Soojin in my back pocket is invaluable. read more

Amazing work fixing my leather weekend bag. The leather near the opening ripped off tearing the leather and the zipper it was attached to. Not being a simple fix, I knew I needed a craftsman who would figure out a solution that worked AND looked good. He added a second seam to fix and reinforce the zipper and then did the same work on the opposite side providing symmetry and extra support so this wouldn't happen again. Also, fixed the lining of the bag which was a secondary issue. Great attention to detail and pride in their work vs other places that just churn out quick fixes without design consideration. Oh, not to mention, completely fairly priced. This is the place you take something you care about when you want it done right. read more

Had to have some shoe soles replaced. Everything was done in a timely manner and inexpensively. Live supporting this small shop!!

I came across this cute, little workshop on Yelp when I was looking for a place to punch a new hole into my Gucci belt. I didn't get the name of the guy who helped me, but he was nice and efficient. He got my belt done within 2 minutes and only charged me $1! I'm glad I found a reliable place to bring my leather goods. read more

First time I came here was to get some Dior combat boots from AW07 resoled. I had expressed some concern about losing the original silhouette due to the boots' crepe sole being diagonally cut, as a simple vertical cut sole that fits the shape of the last would destroy the original design intent, but Soojin told me not to worry. The lug sole replacement came out great, as it was apparent that they had cut down the sides at an angle so that the boots still had that same classic Navigate sillhouette. I've been coming here ever since, and I don't see myself taking any of my leather boots anywhere else to be serviced. read more

Temple SF wrecked my nubuck shoes due to a company party and an open bar. I tried recovering the shoes myself but, like the election, that went south fast. Enter Odsy to the rescue. The kind of small local business you're relieved is around. I needed a couple pairs of shoes fixed up & resoled, so I stopped in. The shop is so pretty & the customer service is excellent. I got a text message when my shoes were ready, & when I picked them up I was thrilled with the quality of the work as well as with the aesthetic decision they made about the color I asked them to revive. I own a pair of Acne Studios Jensen Boots that, after four years of wear, were looking pretty rough. But if you own a pair of these you've essentially made a small investment (and not in your own future, but hey, we've all gotta live a little), so it's important to take care of them to ensure they last a long time. It took over a year of on and off research, trying to find a cobbler that I would trust to do the repair work needed: the toe had begun to separate (like a mouth opening and closing), the toe caps had tarnished, the squared off toes had long since worn down, there were surface scratches on the heels that needed to be buffed out, and the leather needed some refinishing (just a good shine). Finally, last week a coworker asked me if I knew a good cobbler. I told her that my old cobbler retired but that I'd look into one for her -- that's when I stumbled across Odsy. The reviews indicated they do work on some pricey shoes and their own handcrafted leather goods looked well made. So I took one hell of a long journey to the Outer Sunset and took the Nestea Plunge, entrusting my boots to the very friendly couple that runs the workshop. Yesterday, a week after dropping them off, I went to pick them up and they looked almost brand new. I was impressed with the reconstruction Soojin did on the toes; he recreated the squared off toes the boots originally had. He also successfully closed the toe that'd begun to separate, and he replaced the toe caps (but only because I got extras from Acne Studios, so if you want him to do the same for your boots you need to bring him the spare parts). He also added some material to the sole of the boot, only under the toe area, to help prevent the wear that destroyed the shape of the toe the first time. He also buffed out the heel scratches and gave the leather a gentle buffing. All the work was $45. I was expecting it to be much more. I've found a cobbler I trust and hope they'll be around for a long time, because I'm willing to take the long trek from Oakland to have them work on my shoes. Also, their leather goods are very nice and as well made in person as they appear to be on their site. read more

Cobblers are a dying breed unfortunately. Fashion and footwear has become so disposable these days that most people just toss their shoes after a season or two. But when you pay a lot of money for a pair of shoes and want to refurbish or repair your investment, where do you go? Thankfully we have the fine folks at Odsy. You will be hard-pressed to find a shoe repair with this many 5-star reviews. And it's because Jin does incredible work. I can speak from past experiences, most shoe repairs are incredibly disorganized, do sloppy work, and are completely unreliable. Not so at Odsy. Jin is incredibly friendly, professional, and dependable. His craftsmanship is impeccable. He has never let me down. Take all your shoe care needs to these fine folks. And tell your friends too. You'll be glad you did. read more

I come from a family of shoe repairmen. My father-in-law, brother-in-law and my uncle have decades of experience. I typically go to the West Portal Shoe Repair, but I happened to have my boots while I was out on an errand and Odsy was much closer to me. I asked for my black leather boots that have stretched out over time out as I've had them for over 5 years to be narrowed and for the heel to be repaired. The heel repair was good, no problem there. But the narrowing was too tight. First, he said it would take 2 weeks, but no call. I dropped by and he said another week, they hadn't even been started. I came 3 weeks after that and when I tried them on they were too tight, despite him measuring me before tightening the calf.tonget the right size. He said I needed time to wear them and restretch the leather, but these are already stretched leather as they have had years of wear in them and they weren't even zipping up. So I took them and tried to stretch them out and they weren't wearable. They were cutting off my circulation. I went back and the right thing would have been to undo the stitching to make them wider again. Instead he offered to stretch them. He had them for a week and I got them back a little wider but still not wide enough for my calves. At that point he declined to repair them. So $90 to waste, few months of not being able to wear the shoes, and I had to give the shoes away because they didn't fit me anymore. I wish I hadn't ever brought them in. This place might be fine for simple repairs, but not for complex leather work. As far as experience, there are at least 2 other shoe repairs in the area I recommend over this location, particularly the West Portal Shoe Repair who I know has expertise and quality work, even though it's further out from me. read more

Even with their recent move and the COVID-19 crisis, Soojin and Yina are providing excellent customer service with honest pricing and quality work. Their turnaround time is respectable (I always go in with no particular timeframe, and get a text about a week later to pickup my shoes) and I have never had an issue with shoes being returned in anything less than pristine condition. I started off with Odsy by going to their original Taraval location, where I brought him a pair of Louboutins to sole (which he did an excellent job of). Going forward, I have brought all my shoes to him for repairs - he's fixed heels that have randomly fallen off handmade boots from etsy, numerous shoes I have purchased that I have gotten immediately soled because I have become that neurotic person, and I believe once I brought in a pair that he said wasn't worth the work. THAT is what I want out of the services I use - the honesty there of 'I'm willing to do the work, but this really isn't worth it for the quality of the shoes longterm'. The new location on Irving is larger and brighter, and I hope that they expand their line of goods. I am so happy to support Odsy regardless of a pandemic, and will be back whenever I purchase another pair of quality shoes from them. read more

I found this place through Yelp as I was looking for a shop that could repair one of my luxury purses as the interior lining is starting to fall apart due to age. (The leather is drying out so it's flaking). I read the great reviews of Odsy and stopped by. I didn't actually get the item fixed from them but I really appreciated their honesty and advice for my purse. When I showed him the interior lining and what was happening, he didn't try to sell me on getting the liner replaced or anything. Instead, he said it would be more expensive to replace the entire lining than it was worth. Also, he said I could slow the degradation process with a leather conditioner periodically to help save the bag for longer. I am very thankful for the honesty and advice. read more

Great customer service and quality work! Brought in a pair of Oak Street Boot Makers trench boots to get rubber protectors added onto the leather soles about a year ago. The job was done for $30 and pick up was a couple days later, it was a seamless job. The owner did mention that the leather of my boots were pretty oily and that the sole protector might peel off. He assured me not to worry if that was the case and to just bring them back in. After a year's time and lots of wear, I noticed the toe portions of the sole protectors beginning to peel. I brought them back to Odsy and without any question or hassle, I was given a ticket to pick them up. True to their word, the work was done (and done well, I might add) free of charge! Thanks Odsy! I'll definitely be back! read more

I messed up my suede shoes at a late night party and was looking for a place to properly clean them. I passed by Odsy on my way home one day and took a peek. It's a cute little shop run by a couple from Korea. They sell custom fashion items (tote bags, keyrings, etc) but their main focus is leather/suede repair. I brought my shoes in that weekend and they only charged me $20. They told me to come in same day next week to pick it up. A week later, I get my shoes and they look good as new! They did a fantastic job and I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs their leather repaired. read more

Long overdue review, but it reminded me to write one when I saw their shop on Irving. I brought in a Gucci belt to get shortened before at their Taraval location. I originally asked for an extra hole so Jin punched a hole in the belt. The hole was perfect and even, but the belt was still way too big. So I asked Jin if he can shorten the belt instead and he marked how much needed to be shortened. One week later, I was able to pick up the belt. When I saw it, I was completely in shock at how perfect the workmanship was. It literally looked like as if I just bought the belt in the correct size from the store. Ever since, I've been recommending my friends here for their belt and shoe needs. read more

I really appreciate Odsy's exceptional workmanship and attention to detail. I collect vintage clogs and the adhesive always gives out on them. I've given him two pairs to re-glue and the last time he even shined & conditioned the leather for me, making them look as good as new! I also brought in a leather strap to be converted into a belt, and had a custom high-quality leather belt made for my partner that was a reasonable price (less than others I priced out). I highly recommend Odsy for shoe repair, but also for other leather services as well. read more

Brought here some white Marsell shoes of high quality leather because they had some coffee stains on them. Odsy Workshop did a fantastic job removing them, I was pleasantly surprised with the results, and they were professional through and through. The calf leather white shoes ended up being recolored of white and the result was similar to the initial color. I want to stress, the kind of job they did is not something easy at all. It requires craftsmanship and savoir faire. I was also surprised that the owner knew about Marsell shoes and he owned a few of them himself, that makes me even more comfortable leaving them to be repaired here. These are not usual shoes. All in all, this is probably the best shoe cobbler in SF. Highly recommended to anyone. These folks, they know what they are doing. read more
