I've had at least 6 pairs of my favorite shoes repaired here and James does an amazing job every time!! It's always so hard to see your favorite shoes fall apart from so much wear but James gives them a second life. I've brought him platform leather boots that were separating from the sole, sling back heels where the elastic holding the buckle to the strap came undone, and heels that were completely chewed up from me stepping in grates - every single pair came back to me looking new again. His prices are super affordable and I feel like there's no limit to his skill. I have a leather bag with a strap falling off that he said he can repair too! Can't recommend him enough! read more

James has the kind of customer service and interaction that I think is mostly lost these days. He is really great and very nice. HOWEVER, I have been to his store 4 times for the same pair of shoes. I was unhappy with the gap that was left after glueing the top part of the shoe to the sole. When I first went in he initially offered to sew them but said it would be a lot more money and he recommended that I glue them. The glue didn't look the best after the repair so I asked to sew them and he suddenly said he was not able to and he tried to do it? So why was it offered as a service initially? So you DID try to sew them? Without mentioning it to me and even though I only paid 1/3 of what sewing costs? Fine, the main reason I went didn't turn out the best- but for the price I paid I'll deal with it. I've been back twice since then because he keeps forgetting to clamp the shoelace ends with plastic that I was charged $5 more to do initially. Also a small detail that I asked about was shoe cleaning. He said that shoe cleaning comes included. I'll just leave a picture as far as that goes. In total it took between 3-4 trips and 2 weeks total. One whole week and 2 trips was dedicated solely to clamping the shoelaces. I was really looking forward to giving him a good review but the initial glow and satisfaction wore off each problem, interaction, and visit that I had. I don't think I will be back. read more

When I contacted the business, I got an immediate automated response followed shortly by a personalized message exchange where I told him what I needed. He told me when I could drop off the shoes and when they'd be done. I think I dropped them off on a Thursday and they were completed *perfectly* the following Tuesday! I paid $28 or so for sole reattachment on a pair of 10 yr old Cole Haan boots. The price was more than fair, IMO. James did a really great job with fixing a color defect on a pair of high-end dress shoes. I can't tell there was any defect before this.

Our experience was bad. Tried to repair shoe where some stitches were required and soles had to be replaced. Well, the stitches were pretty amateur with bad finishes and the new plastic cheap white soles came off that very day after wear. Also James, the owner talked too much, took payment upfront (before service) and said his services were guaranteed , not that it meant anything after our experience. Definitely not going back to him. Interesting how this person calls me fake after a bad review. As if all dissatisfied customers are supposed to be only fraudulent by nature. Attached here are the photos of his work and messages exchanged. He also sent me a threat message on yelp after this review, calling me some kind of ally of Daniel (whoever he is). No wonder, there is no bad review of this place because he chooses to deter discontented clients with profanity and warning messages. I will tell you why i chose to not go back again: Skepticism 1: These days businesses threaten customers who post bad reviews by calling them fraud, fake or threatening them with court cases. That is why places with only 5 star reviews are always dubious. You cannot make everyone happy, there will always be someone who won't be satisfied with your service and that's okay but the moment you choose to go after that person then you become dangerous. Skepticism 2: When i saw the work i knew there was no way this would get any better. There was therefore, no point for me to go back to him again. Skepticism 3: The most important one: when someone wants payment upfront and says that's the only way one does business even though he claims that 100 per cent satisfaction is guaranteed then you know there is something wrong with this assurance.
