Perfectly done top sole for my new Ferragamo. Well worth the trip. $21

Fantastic place. A bit tucked away in location so Joe is not charging crazy financial district prices. Fast service, great job, good value, really friendly person. What else could one ask for? Cash based only.

$26 for new sole padding at front and sole padding pieces at heel

This place is everything you want a shoe repair place to be: 1. Punctual: the owner shows up right at 9am to open up shop (I showed up at 8:55am in anticipation to pick up my shoes) 2. Speedy: was able to turn around his work in a few hours (I didn't take him up on this. I opted to come a different day) 3. Accommodating: I completely forgot I said I'd come back in a day. O came back days later (there's a fine print on your ticket that he's not responsible if you don't pick up your shoes in 30 days) Cash only, plan ahead! Also they were open on MLK day, best call ahead for other holidays

A few months after I fixed my shoes.

I'm not sure why people give this guy 5 stars. Perhaps, because of his positive personality and the chant music that he plays 24/7?! If so, I would do so tool, but c'mon... I fixed three pairs of shoes there over the 2 years. Every single one of them had to be re-fixed again within 2 months max. After I got my first pair of shoes fixed there and the sole got detached same week. The guy re-glued the soles without any problems. Then sole and heals got deteriorated after wearing the shoes not even for 2 months. Next time I came to Shoe Craft, I asked the guy to use a better material for both of my shoes, so it does not wear and tear as fast as last time. And guess what?! After two weeks I was back there to re-glue the sole of both of my shoes and I need new soles now due to the extra fast wear & tear. Yes, the prices there are really reasonable, but next time I have to fix my shoes, there is no way I'm going back to the guy, just because my time is worth much, much more. Plus, at the end, you don't save anything, if not losing, the materials used by the guy wears and tears 10 times faster comparing to a sole & heal on a brand new pair of shoes, and you probably, save only $10. Screw that.

I have no words to express how disappointed I am with the workmanship from this place. I literally just picked up my favorite shoes after "being repaired" and it still looks like this. Even what was glued together is already falling apart.

Another perfect score for a great craftsman. I took my snowboard boot in here - yeah, I wasn't expecting him to be able to fix it. The stitching on the front of my back foot had come undone, leading to the glue separating, leading to an ugly boot with crap everywhere. I thought I could get away with crazy glueing it, but on closer inspection, there was no way to clamp it down. Resorting to Yelp to find a specialist, I showed up here and he charged me $8 and told me to come back in a few days. Got it today - it looks awesome. I still have to ride with it, but visually he couldn't have done a better job. Awesome, thanks Joe Law!

Re-soled and re-heeled two pairs of Frye boots for $96. Quick service and good value.

Love this place! It's cash only. Ive been a few times, and it's always the same gentleman working. He's very helpful when making suggestions about repairing the various pairs of shoes I've brought him. $26 to put sole protectors on a new pair of Louboutin's and only a 1 day turnaround.

My Jeffrey Campbell boots! Before and after.

Awesome place! Found it on yelp (thanks fellow yelpers). I brought in a pair of Jeffrey Campbell leather booties that I love and didn't want to toss. The heels were worn down pretty badly and the back of the leather was starting to rip. Joe did a great job! For $20 he gave me a new heel and patched the ripped leather. He even said to preserve the life of these boots, I should never wear them if the heels are that worn down or else I'm going to get the same problems. Will definitely come back!

This guy is FAST and CHEAP. Shoe Craft is just a few steps away from the 8x and 30 bus stops. I stood in line behind a middle aged guy who was picking up a pair of repaired shoes and dropping off 3 more pairs that belong to his wife, lol. Looked like a real regular. All 3 would be picked up the next day! I myself am a return customer after having heels added to my Sofft sandals a few months back. It was def not a perfect job, so I think pricey shoes should go to cobblers who take the time to remove soles, sand down, and replace (rather than glue on a new heel). Yeah it was a same day job so I was satisfied. This season, I came back for a quick fix-- new heel soles put on my 9 West boots that I wore to death on cobblestone. 10 minutes and less than 10 bucks later, they're ready for more stomping around. When I lived in NY, these shoes would require a week apart from mama, cost $25, and come back all polished and restored. But I don't mind the trade off. Time is money. And my wallet is happy, so I'm happy :) fyi: No credit cards and checks. So bring cash- it's not much!

Shoe tap fitted while I waited. Toes and heels for $6.

Got shoe taps fitted here and was very happy about it. While I waited, just $6, and well applied. I will come here again. Not sure I would be as happy with a more complex repair, but great for instant help with a basic item like this.

After being quoted $90-$120 elsewhere, I was pleasantly surprised to learn his pricing is $35-$50 per pair, depending on whether the bottom heel also needs to be soled. I ended up bringing in three pairs of shoes (two with top heels done, one with both top and bottom heel soled). He told me to come back in 1.5-2 hours, and when I returned around 4:30 PM, all three pairs were ready. The work looked clean, professional, and well finished--I was really impressed. I also had him replace a watch battery. When I got home later that day and realized it still wasn't working, I messaged him right away. He responded the next day, asked me to come back in, and fixed it within minutes--he even offered a refund if it couldn't be resolved. Fair pricing, fast turnaround, quality work, and honest service. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend this place.

I recently came back from a European vacation and needed repair on my very nice Coach bag. Midway…read morethrough my trip, the anchor stitching that secured the leather bound ends of my bag where my strap would be used and connected to starting to come unraveled. Since this is a hefty luxury bag, going to my clothing alteration shop wouldn't work as I was recommended to go to a cobbler as they would have the machines necessary to fix a bag. Fortunately, for me when I got back home, I found MAK & CO which came highly recommended and was near to where I lived. I contacted MAK via the online quote portal on yelp. He immediately responded with his number and said to text him directly with some of the images of the bag damage. I contacted him and sent him the photos of the damage and he quoted me $20 per end and said he could take care of it pretty fast. I took the bag in on New Year's Eve and MAK took a quick look at it and said he could get it done in two hours. I was completely surprised and I reminded him he didn't have to get it to me that fast. He said it wouldn't be a problem. Not only was he able to turn around the bag within a few hours he said the total repair would be only $20 for both ends and not $20 per end. This was half the amount which I was expecting to pay. Totally happy with what he said I left and came back maybe about five hours later near to when he was about to close. He gathered the bag and showed me his repair which he did very securely and tight. I have no doubt that this repair will last hopefully forever. The total amount was only $20 as he said, and I walked away very happy and appreciative. MAK & CO was very professional, quick with the turnaround and very affordable. I for one will definitely be back as I have many shoes that I have been waiting to get repaired. He definitely is an artisan.
