People were doing backflips over the chairs and even jumping off the side wall into the cinema entrance, while staff would simply walk in, stare at everyone, and then leave without doing anything. If there was one thing for me to fault and I'm probably being picky but it's that the website doesn't seem up to date with the amount of tickets available. It was a random Wednesday at about 8pm or something, but the only place you could buy tickets were from two people behind the food counter. There was a whole load of other counters, but it they were all closed. So you had to queue up with everyone either wanting tickets or food. I just thought it was really dead and lacked atmosphere. Now I know, it's not a club or anything so it doesn't have to be super lively or anything, but I wouldn't be too keen on going back again.

Beforehand, you can book a table or bar seats for dinner or drinks in the upstairs cocktail bar which is also unique and fabulous. Very art deco with a cool vibe! They have a fancy drink menu, I snapped a few photos of sample drink offerings. My friend's cocktail arrived in a stemmed footed porcelain teacup! We did not finish a bottle of wine we had ordered for the table and we were informed we were free to take the bottle and glasses down to the theater to enjoy during the movie! Very nice! The service was very friendly, although they had some obviously new waitstaff who had trouble getting their act together and could not recall who ordered what and just simply placed entrees randomly in front of our table's diners, resulting in lots of dish passing and exchanging. The food was quite good. I ordered the Kale Salad (delicious) and the Creamed Spinach (yummy, but too liquidy) and Chicken Skewers. The lads here say it's an 'LSF' screen - 'large screen format' - which basically means it's fecking massive. It's over 20 metres long and is 11.1 frequency for sound (or something like that) To be honest, I'm a total technophobe, so I don't know the full details, but what I do know is that the sound is incredible, and the screen is very very clear. The winner for me though were the seats. They nearly look like racing car seats - big red things that envelope you in them, and, they rock a little back and forth so you don't feel too rigid. The whole place is pretty sparkly and new. Nice toilets, the usual food and drink - at the usual premium of course. I'm not sure of the price on the MAXX Screen but as far as I know there's an extra surcharge on the screen. I would always prefer the independent screens for their value for money too, so I'd probably only be going if I was going to see something that really needed big sound / visuals, like a music or action based movie, which it would be great for. Overall though, great location and great facility.

This was for years the last bastion of butter popcorndom until they realised everyone was wiping their hands on the seats and the cinema slowly rotted away. The one thing I have to take one star away is because they must have bought the seats in the same place as Ryanair. They are flip down seats with a gap in the back which you could fit a small dog through. Skinny people beware you might never be found again! Anyway; Its nice and new, its clean, the staff have obviously been trained to be courteous to customers (unlike the dopes you get in another Southside Cinema) and it is back to being an alternative cinema best of luck to them.

It reopened in the early part of 2012 The decor and the lightning in the corridor area and the screening rooms is very impressive and modern which creates a very pleasant and nice ambience . Perfect for watching a good movie! The nicest I have seen in Dublin. The seats are very spacious and comfy . You get 5 hours free parking if you ask / give your parking ticket to the person who checks the ticket as you go in . The price is very reasonable 7 euro before 7 monday to friday. For students , its is 7 euro anytime and 5 euro every tuesday ! Myself and my friends were impressed with this cinematic experience! :)
