A newish multiplex cinema in the enormous Dundrum shopping centre. The seats are comfy, the popcorn's good, and the ticket prices are standard. They only show mainstream blockbuster stuff, so don't expect any art house films. Absolutely groaning with people on weekends, especially in the afternoon and evening. New release screenings are commonly sold out. You can book tickets online for a small extra charge to ensure seating, but the queue for collecting prepaid tickets from the automated machine is often just as long as the queue to buy tickets themselves. The website is full of info and there are restaurants and a bar in the surrounding buildings so you can make a night of it. Easy to get to on the Luas green line (take either the Balally or Dundrum stop).

Like the idea of a bar a few steps away from the 'silver screen'? Want a huge comfy seat to go with that popcorn? Step right up - get your tickets folks! This place gets two very enthusiastic thumbs up! There are about 20+ huge and incredibly comfortable seats in this private cinema. There's also popcorn and pelligrino to go with your ticket (or a cocktail if you prefer for a few euro more). And, the films shown are those cool classics of yesterday (like Dracula and Jaws)! You're even welcome to send recommendations to them for future films via Facebook! The cinema is in a great location too - steps from downtown Grafton Street! And, the hotel that holds this private gem is actually a nice spot to enjoy a pre- or post-film cocktail. (There's a comfortable lounge or you can grab a stool at the smaller bar which I prefer...) It's a cozy experience indeed. Get your prepaid tickets by calling or sending an email - and hurry as some films sell out...! See you at the movies!

The popcorn was served in a little cute box and you could pick your own drink off the table. Staff were great and the hotel looks nice. If there was one thing for me to fault and I'm probably being picky but it's that the website doesn't seem up to date with the amount of tickets available. When I tried to buy mine it said there were 6 available but I was put on a waiting list. Other than that the experience overall was fantastic and I would definitely go back!

Stillorgan cinema is rarely full, has a great little costa at the front and is always clean. They have recently done up the bathrooms too which is great, as they were a bit dated alright. The screens are not the biggest in Dublin at all, but when you compare this cinema to others in the area that you can't get tickets to, I would like the option of going to the cinema at a whim on a Friday night with a choice of films, rather than waiting around in other cinemas for the next available showing! Its my favourite cinema by far in Dublin, but that is also because its where I spent half my childhood - lots of good memories, which makes me a bit biased. Even so - I would highly recommend it! :)

The Stella is a unique movie theater, with sumptuous seating offering, red leather couches, leather overstuffed chairs and hassocks, quaint side tables with tiny lamps and seat side service. You make reservations in advance, reserving specific chairs or couches, or, if you are so inclined, one of the large beds located at the very front of the theater. You can pre-order food which is brought to you or if not hot, already at your table when you arrive. The theater has a retro concession stand and you can have alcoholic drinks in the theater. The movie screen was huge and the sound was fabulous. Our seats were in the 5th row. Beforehand, you can book a table or bar seats for dinner or drinks in the upstairs cocktail bar which is also unique and fabulous. Very art deco with a cool vibe! They have a fancy drink menu, I snapped a few photos of sample drink offerings. My friend's cocktail arrived in a stemmed footed porcelain teacup! We did not finish a bottle of wine we had ordered for the table and we were informed we were free to take the bottle and glasses down to the theater to enjoy during the movie! Very nice! The service was very friendly, although they had some obviously new waitstaff who had trouble getting their act together and could not recall who ordered what and just simply placed entrees randomly in front of our table's diners, resulting in lots of dish passing and exchanging. The food was quite good. I ordered the Kale Salad (delicious) and the Creamed Spinach (yummy, but too liquidy) and Chicken Skewers. My husband ordered the Patatas Bravas and the Chicken Skewers, my friend ordered the giant Garlic Chili Prawns, Kale Salad and her husband ordered the Baba Ganoush. Good taste reports all around! The atmosphere is intimate and you are allocated a 1 hour and 45 minute schedule for your reserved dining space which was plenty of time. We did not feel rushed at all. I would highly recommend this unique and fun experience when in Dublin!
