As what you might call a vintage clothing junkie (self-diagnosed), I am forever on the prowl for…read morenew haunts in my area. Sadly, they are few and far between, so I was elated to discover Vintage Alley during a recent online search and having visited the store for the first time last weekend, I can safely say, it does not disappoint. Tucked away on the corner of Bloomfield Ave, along Verona's main drag, Vintage Alley is a veritable treasure trove of awesome vintage finds. The layout of the store allows for easy browsing, with an aesthetic that is at once cozy and chic. The merchandise is well-curated and the prices more than reasonable. The clincher for me was the exceptional service I received from Brittany. A major pet peeve of mine is entering a store and feeling pressured to make a purchase. Over the years, I've found that when dealing with small business retailers in particular, customer service often runs the gamut from overbearing to indifferent. Fortunately, I found none of these to be the case at Vintage Alley. From the moment I walked in the store, I felt at ease and appreciated the fact that Brittany made herself available to offer input and assistance when needed, while allowing me to browse at my leisure. Brittany's love of the store--and vintage in general--is evident in her style and in her nature, the latter of which was equal parts warm, enthusiastic, and genuine. I spent an inordinate amount of time debating between two purchases - a tweed blazer or Paganne dress - before finally settling on the latter and never once did I feel rushed or put upon to make up my mind. To be clear, we're talking multiple try-ons and an excessive amount of hemming and hawing in front of a mirror, with nary a complaint. On those occasions when I offered up an apology for essentially acting out the shopping equivalent of a hung jury, Brittany simply invited me to take however long I needed. After putting in more deliberation than the cast of 12 Angry Men, I eventually settled on the dress, which I can't wait to wear. In summation, love my new dress, love Vintage Alley, and can't wait to go back.

As a Brooklyn bride…read morewith a heart for Jersey, I was excited to check out this highly recommended bridal shop by one of my bridesmaids - who also found her wedding dress here! Enter Angelica, the badass sister/friend you always wanted and stylist extraordinaire. She had such a genuine, honest demeanor that made me feel comfortable and confident. She listened intently to my vision for my wedding day and was able to read between the lines to understand what I truly wanted, even when I was trying to play it cool. Angelica's keen eye and industry expertise were a game-changer. Her ability to know the dress I was meant to love before I even realized it - simply by pointing out the one I couldn't stop staring at - was a testament to her skills. My experience at Wander Atelier was nothing short of unforgettable. I cannot recommend it enough to any bride-to-be in search of her dream gown. The level of care and attention Angelica gave me was unparalleled, and I know that she'll do the same for every bride she works with.

I initially came in specifically to try on designs from Alena Leena, a designer I had fallen in love with online. During my first visit, I worked with Nicole, the owner, who was so kind, patient, and genuinely supportive. As someone who didn't fully know what I wanted yet, I never felt rushed or pressured--she made the entire experience feel exciting and comfortable. Nicole suggested I come back for an Alena Leena trunk show, and I'm so grateful I did. At my second appointment, Angelica helped me and was an amazing listener--she really understood my vision and helped guide me without ever pushing me in a direction that didn't feel like "me." That visit turned out to be everything. I found my dream dress from the trunk show collection, but I also couldn't stop thinking about another dress I had fallen in love with during my first visit (which happened to be on sale!). I had always dreamed of having two dresses--one for the ceremony and one for the reception--but didn't think it would actually be possible within my budget. Thanks to the Wander team, it was possible. I walked out of that appointment with both of my dream Alena Leena dresses and a veil--all within budget. I truly can't thank the team at Wander Atelier enough. They made what could have been an overwhelming process feel effortless, special, and so personal. If you're even considering going, do it--you'll be in the best hands.
