Most of the staff are really friendly, but this is the second time I received a bruise like this. The first time I couldn't go back and donate for a month waiting for it to heal and then when I was able to go back they were unable to do the blood return and I now how this and it's been a week since the draw and I can't go back now for another 2 months. I just finished my first donation and I was overall a very positive experience. I came in as a new donor on a Saturday morning around 8:30 am. The wait wasn't bad, and the staff were pretty professional. It did take a long time. But knowing that in advance it's not a big deal. Carson ended up being my plasma drawing technician and he was great. Overall I felt safe and everything was clean and legit, I'd recommend coming here to donate. read more

To start I have been going a few years as a promise to a burn victim I had years ago and until today was always exceptional. However, workers like Stephanie and other have left and Maria and the other s that stayed are great. This review in no way reflects them. Today I had a hispanic male simply walk up bedside. Didn't introduce himself, didn't say what was going , he simply put on gloves, so I asked what's going on? he says gonna adjust my line because the flow is bad. So , and being a former ER nurse, I watch him. And instead of sliding the needle up or down with the vein he lifts it up causing great pain and I tell him stop. Get me someone else and so I Iook for the regulars but all new faces. Who trained this guy? Then he gets upset and tosses the BP cuff at my forehead and at that point I had enough. I told him just because I asked him to stop he had no reason to toss the cuff at my head. Bedside manners is not this guys' skill. So I ended wrapping my arm up. Explained in short what happened to possibly a lead I dont know, but he did listen. As for the male who lifted my vein,lol.. But dont let this guy touch you.. There a tall young caucasian kid, long hair, nery professional who started the process and he is really good. But the other guy today should not be allowed to touch patients. You can always tell when they are in it for the money and not the care of people. He will never touch me again. I miss the old staff. read more

Clean facility, friendly staff, but frustrating lack of transparency about their bruising policy. I knew that the first apt would take a long time, and it did. They were efficient, but it still took 3.5 hours. But what made me mad was that I told 2 phlebotomists that I was a hard draw and that I bruised easily, and they assigned me someone who couldn't draw on my left side. She switched to the right (which I told her from the start was easier) but then I found out that they won't let you donate if you have a bruise. Apparently there was another vein on my left arm that she could have tried, and I indicated that I wanted that, but she switched anyway. So I went in today for my 2nd appointment and they wouldn't let me donate bec there is light bruising on both my arms. They need to be VERY clear about this policy and give donors the clear option of a 2nd vein or other side BEFORE making that call for them. And because you always have to go on the same days of the week that you start on (I was trying to establish at Tues/Thurs donation schedule) I now have to wait until next Tues, which throws off my compensation schedule and wasted 90 min of my time today with the drive and wait. So, if you are a hard draw and/or bruise easily, go in with this information and self advocate!! read more

A great way to earn extra money! Just while laying down you can play on your phone or read. It is a larger needle. At first I was scared of it, but after a few visits it's no big deal. This location is clean, the workers professional and kind. When it's really busy, I think it can add stress to the staff because some donors get antsy. It seem like they are understaffed. The first time you donate it can take 3-4 hours because you have to go through a physical. After that, if there isn't a long line, it can take about 1 hour. With a line, about 2 hours. read more

This is my first time back after it's been a few years since I donated. The check in process is easy IF you've already come in previously for evaluation. At every step of the way you are asked the same 20 something screening questions. The redundancy can be irritating to say the least. The employees don't seem to mind chatting it up while there are people waiting to donate. That can be frustrating. They also make a big deal about somethings that discourage people from donating. For example: at each visit you start by answering the questions, lining up to get blood drawn to check for iron etc as well as blood pressure and bruising on arms. Every-time I have low blood pressure this is my normal for me and many others. However it does raise concern for them and they do not listen when you tell them it is your normal. I had to go to squats and then come back 5 mins later to check it again. A waste of time. I also bruise super easy, I always have. I am pale and just bruise easy-like many others. Yet, they don't listen when I tell them this is my normal. It can be frustrating. So, I advise to only visit when you have literally all day and all the patience in the world. Right now they're offering $100 per donation for the first (7) donation. After that it's $45-$65 depending on your weight. read more

Saving a life is always a good thing. Some tips, be there when it opens because there's usually a long line. Most of the staff is very nice, however there is one staff member who seems to be rude and not friendly, unfortunately she's usually at the front when you check in. Don't let that deture you, the rest are nice! The first donation takes the longest, after that its about an hour. Getting $100 twice a week has definitely come 8n handy. They are racist, and deny people based on their names. I saw them turn several black people in front of me, and they turned me away too as a Black and Asian. The first day I arrived at 3 pm, and was told that I arrived too late along with the Black people in front of me. Keep in mind they close at 7 pm, so it just felt extremely discriminatory. The next day I arrived at around 7:30 am to be sexually harassed by the same medical receptionist. She told me to take off my clothing publicly to show her my abs, and I told her that I don't need to do that. Then she told me that she needed me in a bra and an underwear. I told her I was wearing pants under my dress, then she complained that she was hungry. She asked me a bunch of unnecessary questions after taking me into three different locations for questioning. I showed her my ID, my W-9 form, my Medical cards, my debit card, my rent payment, and she kept asking for more. I told her my SSN, and they verified me in my statement. The reason I was turned away is because my name is not to her liking, seriously that is what she said. Then she decided to change her mind telling me she needed additional proof of address with a different name that was within 30 days. She wasted my time! Last thing she said was that I should go to their Fresno location, and I told her the Clovis location is better. Do not go here! I had a better experience going to Biomat located on Blackstone Ave by the dollar store and Planet Fitness. read more

Kiosk: always kicks you out and you have to log back in. The wait for vitals: is always long because they only have one person doing vitals. Changing gloves after each patient: today a worker who does vitals (finger sticks to draw blood, also) stated she only changes gloves if she gets blood on the gloves she's wearing. I see other staff changing gloves each time they assist the next donor, yet, she doesn't. The wait to donate plasma: is also long and the staff often mixes up donor documents causing donors to wait longer than necessary. You will see donors (non-express pass holders) being called before you and if you mention it they'll tell you you're next when you should have already been done. *Plasma donation: today a new worker mistakenly forgot to clamp tubing that would prevent my blood from running through the tube for the plasma collection. There was blood all over my sweater and 'Kristine' offered a weak apology with advice on what to do when I got home. Something to clean up with before I left the building would have been appreciated. read more

I started donating here in November of 2019 and had, had "okay" experiences. With that being said I had witnessed so many others having horrific experiences while donating one of which a man was in tears from them missing the vein then them "readjusting" the needle every 5 minutes. Then the most recent time I went January of 2020 I got a poor initial stick then they kept constantly readjusting the needle. After the third time of them trying to get it back into my vein I fainted. After that whole ordeal I didn't get paid the full amount because of their mistake. Honestly wish I could leave no stars..the phlebotomists are barely trained and tend to not insert needles properly so you'll end up bruising! I've been going here about a year roughly and the staff is very gossipy about their personal lives but also about the people who are donating. I find this location lacking an extreme amount of professionalism. I shouldn't have to sit in a bed donating whilst hearing the nurses say negative things about people who are donating to help others. HORRIBLE experience as a new donor. I called prior to walking in and was told by a call center agent as long as I walked in before 5pm that I could donate as a new donor. Even though the Clovis location website says "walk-ins welcome" and hours 6 AM - 7 PM, I was told they couldn't see me at 3:50 PM because they took the last "new donor" at 3:05 PM. Why even stay open till 7 PM if you won't see a new donor before 4 PM?!?!?! THIS IS BAD BUSINESS!!! I don't get off work till 3:30 PM during the week and 3:50 PM is the earliest time I can even get there. They also don't schedule appointments for new donors so this makes it even more difficult. I do NOT recommend this facility at all. The technician working the front desk was some Asian lady and she clearly didn't care that I was told otherwise by another staff member that I could be seen. She was rude and had a nasty attitude. I should've gotten her name, but I was so upset that I just left. read more

I have been here now for almost two hours and I have only been through a partial process I have sat here and watch people leave because they have been waiting for over an hour... I'm going on hour number 2 and have only made it through the second step of the process, apparently they are understaffed and need help. I heard one of the staff say they only had one nurse and the other was on their way and should be here by 12:30 it's now 12:41 I'm still waiting! Their bio says they realize we are do anti g our time to help others that's why I am still here waiting trying to help someone in need. Unless ur a risk taker n need 15$ cause they don't even give u the full 20$ AFTER getting bonuses ( sometimes u don't even get the full bonus I didn't) not all the phlebotomists are experienced MOST are TRAINING to get their license there and they don't ask if they can train on u so they're missing veins and it's a fucking mess!! They will defer you over THEM messing up (hasn't happen to me but I seen it happen while me being there) my problem is this whole thing is a SCAM they're paying you 20$ for ALOT of plasma and making 150-175 off your blood while just giving you 20$ and 9 times out of 10 you don't get the full 20 they tell you ' oh it's because you checked you card ' you took 5 whole dollars from me for checking if my money is there??
