Toward the end of May 2025, our daughter Erica became gravely ill and was admitted to Valley Children's Hospital. What should have been a joyful time, filled with celebration and pride as she prepared to graduate on May 27th, quickly turned into a nightmare. Instead of honoring her accomplishments, we were faced with the heartbreaking reality of watching our daughter suffer through a sudden and frightening medical crisis. As parents, we were absolutely terrified for her life. The fear and helplessness we felt in those moments are beyond words. We are profoundly grateful to the team of doctors and medical staff at VCH who worked tirelessly to diagnose and treat Erica. Through their dedication and care -- and by the grace of God -- our daughter began to recover. The doctor's even fought harder to treat her as soon as possible so that they could discharge her in time to walk the stage to get her diploma which meant the world to her. This experience has left a lasting emotional impact on our family. What was meant to be a milestone of celebration was instead a time of fear, uncertainty, and deep concern for Erica's health and future. Today Erica continues to be treated as an out patient at VCH and she continues to get stronger every day. She is on the road to full recovery. We will forever be grateful to everyone at VCH.

I have no idea about what kind of a bill I am going to get hit up with but my experience taking a 16 yo teenager ( who was traveling 170 miles from home) to a robotics match was seamless. They were compassionate, empathetic and my son is smiling and not in much pain. They did x-rays before and after and the doctor popped back my son's shoulder into the socket with very little drama! Thank You !

Absolutely best and most efficient care for my two month old grandson who was recently diagnosed with RSV. They took my daughter in immediately with him - no joke only a 10 minute wait. Once we were in they diligently monitored him an additional 12 hours, and made it clear to bring him back if we are even slightly concerned for him. The care they provided for my grandson was almost unbelievable - felt like we were in an alternate universe. The best part was they not only cared for him, but my daughter as well - asking her things like "Are you ok mama? Is there anything we can get you mama?" Would highly recommend their emergency room for your little ones. We feel extremely blessed to have these services only 45 minutes away from us. Thank you to everyone from the doctor, nurses to the respiratory therapist. You are all amazing!

I've been waiting for over 6 hours with an infant. Would not recommend if urgent care is open.

I was seen by Dr. Khushigian who listened to me and actually did what I wanted, despite it not being his first course of action. They removed my toenail (which was extremely painful despite the nerve block) but I was told I did very well. LVN Desiree was by my side through the entire visit and was extremely comforting. I was squeezing her arm so hard during the procedure I was worried I was going to bruise her, but despite that she comforted me and kept me calm and helped me through the pain. There was another nurse who helped me after with wrapping my toe and putting on my little boot but I didn't her name. She was a sweet little Asian lady lol. They were all really nice and I was able to joke around with them and it was an overall good experience, despite the immense pain I was in lol.

As the registrar came out to complete my registration I was made contact with by team member Raj. Raj left a detailed message for me regarding my procedure today and he was wondering where I was it was 8:47 my arrival time was 8:45. I value their promptness. The case before me ended up being complicated and both Raj and Sophie made sure to continue to check on me, ask if I had any needs, and explained the Dr Patel was taking extra rime with the patient before me to ensure patient safety. This was reassuring because when it is my turn, I'll appreciate that just the same. Sophie and Raj both spoke highly of Dr, Patels thorough nature and his great skill level and bedside manner being quite respectful. I love hearing staff members speak RESPECTFULLY to you regarding their team. As the patient it lends a sense of relief and shows a close team ethic! After the procedure my care was provided by Adam and he also was amazing! I felt every single part of the team communicated well with each other, myself and moved appropriately to ensure safety. Bed rails were up, time outs completely, the room was hushed for the time out, everything was double checked, I felt the procedure was going to be completely safely from start to finish. This provides such a calming experience and assists to reduce the stress level of the patient! Thank you Kaiser staff for following all safety protocols and having EXCELLENT bedside manner by all!

I have an eating disorder (EDO) that had become quite severe. When I asked my therapist what he…read moreknew about the condition, he honestly replied, "Not much." I give him points for being truthful, but it left me in a terrifying position. I reached out to a manager in the Kaiser Adult Psychiatry department here in Fresno to request a therapist with specialized EDO knowledge. I quickly learned that KP Fresno has no therapists with a detailed understanding of EDO complexities, and they certainly have no formal EDO program. I asked the manager to help me find a specialist in the community since they couldn't help me in-house. This is a Network Adequacy issue. Under the Knox-Keene Act (Network Adequacy), Kaiser is required to maintain a provider network sufficient to provide all covered services. Because they have zero specialized EDO clinicians in the Fresno area, their network is "inadequate" for this diagnosis. Instead of a referral however, the manager insisted on blood work to check for malnutrition. When the results came back normal, Kaiser used that as a reason to deny treatment. To them, "normal" blood means you aren't sick enough--you practically have to be dying to get help. Outraged, I filed a formal grievance stating: "My request for an eating disorder treatment referral was met with significant delays. When a response was finally provided, it indicated I was deemed ineligible solely based on the stability of my blood work. This disregards the comprehensive nature of eating disorders and the potential for severe health implications beyond laboratory values. Since KP Adult Psychiatry seems to know so little about EDOs, here is a fact: individuals with eating disorders have the highest suicide rate of all mental illnesses combined, with one person completing suicide every 53 minutes. It is disheartening, dangerous, and medically unsound that care is contingent on critically abnormal blood work rather than a holistic clinical assessment." That letter got some attention, but still no referral. For two years, I fought. I wrote letter after letter citing SB 221 (Timely Access to Care), which requires mental health follow-ups within 10 business days. Fighting for two years for treatment of the deadliest mental illness is a blatant violation of those standards. They were also violating SB 855 (Mental Health Parity), which requires insurers to treat mental health conditions with the same urgency as a heart attack or a stroke. The Director of Adult Psychiatry, Dr. Tamika London, refused to communicate in writing and wouldn't speak on the phone once she knew I was recording the conversations. Her silence was damning. The turning point only came after a psychiatric crisis led to a month-long inpatient stay. The facility staff witnessed my symptoms firsthand--restricting to 500 calories or to Zero calories a day, chewing and spitting, and using diarrheals. They alerted Kaiser that I belonged in specialized EDO treatment. Finally, after two years of hell, Kaiser gave in. Yesterday, I finally received a referral to see an EDO specialist. I am honestly surprised I'm still alive. Kaiser cut me off at the knees at every turn, broke laws, and humiliated me. One therapist, Paul Canosa, even told me I wasn't "emaciated enough" to have an eating disorder. He clearly didn't know that only 6% of people with an EDO are medically underweight. Their ignorance could have killed me. During this battle, I struggled with suicidal ideation and self-mutilated on a few occassions; And, if I had cut just a little deeper, I wouldn't be here. No one should have to go through this. Kaiser's behavior was shocking, egregious, and potentially deadly. If you have an eating disorder and Kaiser is "dicking around" with your care, leave me a message. We could file a class action lawsuit--and we would win.

Which is violation of insurance provider contract. Today I get an explanation of benefits for treatment I did not rendered and PUC charged my insurance $500.00 and received a payment from my insurance for $200.65. Despite the provider stating their weak explanation for their actions this only proves my point they put business before patient care. This was no accident, despite being denied treatment, they turn around and bill my health insurance company for services NEVER rendered . That is bad billing practice. I am taking my complaints to the Better Business Bureau and my insurance company. I would seriously think about taking your business to Premium Urgent Care. And Sonya L business manager here is my personal message to you. Return your payment of $200.65 back to my insurance company. Because I am not a stupid consumer and your business practices are extremely questionable.
