I was referred to Thompson Physical Therapy by my pain management doctor two months ago. I have suffered from pain in my right thoracic area T-5 & T-6 for over 20 years, caused from 2 bulging disc. Epidural injections over the years helped, but every time the pain would come back in the right scapula area. The bulging disc causes the muscles in that area to constrict tightly, causing moderate to severe pain daily, requiring prescription pain medication. The first visit at Thompson's I met the owner Ryan Thompson, his wife Ani, and three staff members Sarah, Kathy, and Brittnay. From the onset all of these people treated me with kindness, compassion for my pain, and were all eager to help me improve my condition. After 6 visits, my daily pain level went from 6-8 out of ten, down to 1-2. I asked myself many times, why I didn't try physical therapy years ago. I just completed 12 visits, and my pain is 0-1 daily. Not only did they work with me during my visits. They instructed me on exercises to do at home, to keep my injured area strong and nearly pain free. Ryan, Ani, Sara, Kathy, and Brittnay. Thank you for everything you did for me. I am halfway through my first round of physical therapy (10 sessions) following surgery on my left ankle. Ani, Ryan, Leslie, Kathy, and Sarah have all been so nice and are always helpful. Everyone is caring, friendly, and professional. You are never rushed nor are you just going through the motions. Both Ani and Ryan do an excellent job helping me as they work me through the exercises and movements strengthening my ankle. Kathy and Leslie are amazing with massage therapy and have had their work cut out on removing the inflammation that has been haunting me since surgery. I tease Leslie that she will make me cry, but words can't describe how much better I feel when she has removed the inflammation from my foot and ankle. The pain relief I feel when Leslie and Kathy have finished their massages tells me I am finally on the road to recovery. Sarah works the front and sets appointments as well as gets you started when you arrive and sometimes sets you up on ice at the end. They all work well together and really care about your well being. Hmmm, let's see where do we begin. Our family has had to use Ryan twice for our daughter Megan. Once for her back and then for her ACL therapy. We had gone to Sierra Orthopaedic Therapy dept prior and it was just ok. It was not like what you get with Ryan. His place gives you individualized treatment and one on one care that is VERY MUCH NEEDED especially for the young that athletes that are injured these days that want to get back to their sport and are committed. In August of 2014, I was in a motorcycle accident. Given the nature of my wreck, I suffered nerve damage, muscle damage, ligament damage, and many broken bones. Due to past sport injuries, I had been to a few physical therapist prior to my accident and I remember the experience being incredibly underwhelming and stressful. They were usually nowhere to be seen, except for maybe a quick "hello, how are feeling". When it came time to go to PT for my accident related injuries, I was worried I would run into these same problems. To my amazement, the physical therapists at Thompson PT worked with me personally. All my appointments included working with the physical therapist, which allowed for constant communication. The benefit of being able to thoroughly communicate worked wonders. Not only was I shown what was hurting, but I was given an explanation as to why and how to fix it. When I started at Thompson PT I was unable to walk due to breaks in my pelvis and femur. My doctors told me it would take 8-12 months, but with the personal attention given by Thompson PT, I was taking my first steps shortly after 4 months. About 8 months later, I found out that I had torn ligaments in my knee; It was incredibly swollen and painful. My doctors told me rehab and ice could help with the pain and swelling, but the results would be minimal. After sharing the information with Thompson PT, they informed me that a medical laser could help with my pain. After being treated with it, my knee pain basically disappeared. With all the injuries I've received with my accident, I've had to go to physical therapy for multiple sessions over the last year. Between weight training, muscle training, and their medical laser, I've experienced amazing breakthroughs. I recommend that anyone reading this go into see them. Im a dancer and for a while I had really bad pain on my shins , to the point where I had to stop dancing . I though I had shin splints or maybe even a stress fracture. When I came in he told me I just had really bad flexibility on my ankles/ lower legs . We worked on it , I went in about 5 times and I was completely healed. Till this day my legs don't hurt and my flexibility is a lot better & I'm able to dance again completely pain free . I'm very thankful to Thompson Physical Therapy & the staff . I first went to Thompson's PT after my knee surgery June 2015. It was a difficult recovery but Ryan Thompson's dedicated work (and honest professional opinions) helped me get back to walking. Thompson's has a wonderful and friendly staff. I've NEVER had any kind of a wait time and I've NEVER found his business to be over booked with other clients - meaning there is quality one on one time. I've been to 2 other PT establishments (all very good), but I prefer Thompsons. After my PT sessions concluded with my knee, a short time later I went back for separate PT sessions for my back - based upon my high satisfaction and approval of Ryan Thompson's work. This place is friendly and professional. I appreciated knowing ahead of time what my cost would be each time I came in based off my insurance and was walked through all of that prior to treatment. I also really appreciated learning the daily things that were attributing to my low back and knee pain so by changing the shoes I wore helped a lot. They sell insoles that are fantastic. The treatment is fantastic and incredibly helpful. They incorporate massage and laser treatment and I leave after ice treatment which helps to not feel so achy afterward. Located near the corner of Nees and Ingram, Thompson Physical Therapy is a full service facility. My story happened last summer. I had been wake boarding a couple of days prior and my right knee swelled up to the point that I could not bend it. I knew that Ryan was a physical therapist so I gave him a call for recommendations. He had me come in to see what he could do. After evaluating the injury, the therapy part began. He brought out what looked like a flashlight and explained it is a cold laser. The emissions stimulate the production of ATP. That is the chemical that repairs our cells. 45 minutes and I could now bend the knee. He then had me sit in a chair, wrapped my leg in a ice pack that also did compressed and relaxed. The knee then felt numb and I was sent home with orders to go to sleep. The next morning, the pain was gone, as was the swelling and the flexibility was about 90% of normal. One treatment and I have not had to go back for the knee. Anyone who has an issue with pain, from head to toe, Thompson Physical Therapy is the way to go. read more
