TLDR: Dr Kerr and the staff at this urgent care are 10/10 fantastic, they are amazing!!!! Firstly, I was shocked to find an urgent care that had such a high rating. Most medical facilities struggle to keep good reviews because lack of staffing cause long wait times and quick interactions. Secondly, I was shocked that the urgent care wasn't extremely busy and that I was brought into the back within 15 minutes of my arrival. Thirdly, I was so so IMPRESSED with how kind, and just happy my doctor was. I don't meet too many doctors who really strike a cord with me, but DR.KERR was genuinely just such a nice doctor. I was seen for a kidney infection, I knew the symptoms, had experienced them a year before, after a quick urine test he agreed. He said he'd prescribe a tablet to take once a day for 10 days, if I experienced fever to go to the ER. I asked if he knew how fast the CVS right next door would possibly fill that prescription (dumb question-that isn't something most doctors are really going to know, but I have word vomit sometimes) and he said it could take anywhere from an hour to longer. He asked if I ever used them before and I said no. He then said he wanted to give me an antibiotic shot that would at least cover me for 24 hours in case they didn't get the prescription filled that night, which was AMAZING. He didn't have to do that at all. I am so thankful that he did, though. CVS didn't get the prescription filled until late. I went to bed in a lot of pain due to the kidney infection, but that shot did it's job and by this morning I am as good as new!!!!! I'm still going to grab my prescription after work today, because following the treatment plan all the way through is how it gets fixed and doesn't just flare back up in a couple days, but I cannot express how fantastic Dr. Kerr and really ALL of the staff was. read more

So I filled in the questionnaire online at 10:40 and walked in at 12:15pm. I spoke with the receptionist in the front and she checked me in, then told me to have a seat. I wait over an hour plus and still no one has called me, people who are arriving after me are getting their name called and being seen. So I go up and talk with a different receptionist and she asked if I've talked to anyone once I arrived. I answered "yes" and she proceeds to hand me papers to "check me in". I asked her if this was paper work that I've should have filled out upon arrival and she answers "yes". The quality of care and attention to detail is poor at this office, I should not nor anyone else for that matter be overlooked for care because a receptionist failed to follow procedure. We are new to the area, have scheduled doctors appointments with a family doctor and a GYN next month to establish care. So being without a GP or GYN I came to this location because I feel like I have a kidney infection. The lack of any kind of attempt at human connection in this office is astounding. There's no one to help you with check-in, you're immediately pointed to a QR code where you fill out all of the paperwork yourself. Once the receptionist has that, she points you to a machine IN THE WAITING ROOM to get your vitals. Everything from weight and temperature to blood pressure and oxygen numbers is done by one of those machines you generally see at Walmart that you sit and put your arm in. WTF? That machine prints out a paper that you give to the receptionist. Because I was there thinking I have a kidney infection, she handed me a urine specimen cup, and told me to go into the bathroom, again, in the waiting room. A basket in the waiting room for the collection of your investments already had someone else's specimen in it. With their information on it. I'm sorry but HIPAA who? I then sat back down until called back to go to a room. A nurse didn't come in the room to talk to me or anything. I sent to room 3 to wait. I sat in my room for half an hour, listening to the full exam of a kid in the room next to me because the walls are really thin, before a doctor come in to tell me that because I drink a lot of water, my urine was clear... dilute ... and that it could be an ovarian cyst or even appendicitis, she doesn't know what's causing the pain in my lower back, that I should go to the emergency room to get imagining done and they could tell me what's causing the pain in my back around my kidneys and the malaise. So not only did I just pay my co-pay, but I was also charged an extra fee for urinalysis, something I've never had done before in any doctors office in my life. I walked out feeling like I just wasted my money and my time. If you've got something really simple like a sinus infection, I feel like this would be a good option. But for anything else? This office relies heavily on AI technology to take vitals and they didn't review the results for my sons visit. The medical assistant also didn't perform the COVID test properly, and within 30 minutes at the hospital, we found out my son did have COVID. Worse, his heart rate was extremely high (over 250) the hospital staff rushed my son to the back during the initial contact for vitals. I went to be seen for multiple symptoms and was told I could only be seen for one at a time in spite of my calling my insurance and asking if this was the case. Insurance of course said no I could be seen. Absolutely appalling experience - this facility should be ashamed to call itself "urgent" care. This was not my first negative encounter at this urgent care location, but it will absolutely be my last. Today I brought my elderly mother in, and despite posted signs everywhere requiring masks, staff were in violation of their own posted policy; even as immunocompromised and elderly patients walked in. We completed their digital intake and submitted my mother's valid insurance - Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield - with in- and out-of-network coverage, which we confirmed twice with her provider. The front desk staff stated they could not accept it. We contacted the insurer again, and for the first time ever, even they were shocked. "This should be a non-issue," the rep told us. "She has dual coverage." I handed my phone to their team so they could speak directly with the insurance rep. Instead of helping, Laura (who was also one of the staff ignoring their own mask mandate) dismissively stated that they "don't communicate with Anthem" and told us to try contacting another number. "That's not the right number," she sneered as though it were some small moment of glee to turn me and my mother away. To clarify, I was doing half of the office staff's job for them, communicating directly with my mother's insurance. Laura brushed it off as though this was our error, even though the insurance rep stayed on the line with us for nearly an hour trying to find a solution. Laura claimed to have "escalated it upstairs" and told us nothing could be done - only to call us after we'd left and say we could pay out of pocket and maybe get reimbursed later. That is not healthcare. That is price-gouging with paperwork. Let me be clear: this is not an isolated incident. I was once told by the VA to visit this urgent care and was left sitting for over an hour before being told they don't accept VA coverage. My husband was also turned away here because his insurance supposedly didn't count either. So I have to ask: whose insurance do you accept? Because based on my experience, the answer is "no one's." My mother has filed an official grievance with her insurance provider. I strongly urge others who have undoubtably had negative experiences with the front office staff to do the same. As someone who has worked in medicine for years, I'm disgusted by the lack of professionalism, the unwillingness to collaborate, and the complete disregard for patient needs. The administrative staff at this location are not just untrained - they are obstructing care. This is a place that seems to specialize in excuses and deflections instead of treatment. Their streamlined form via QR code would be a welcome solution to the burden of writing out medical history on paper that can be mismanaged and the waiting area seemed professional and clean. Clinicians appeared to be well mannered - though obviously my experience is limited to how they call patients - who weren't us at various times. Here's how this facility can begin to repair its credibility and actually serve the community: 1. Honor Posted Mask Policies - If you're going to post mask mandates, enforce them, starting with your own staff. Public health signage isn't decor. 2. Train (or Retrain) Front Desk Staff - Every single employee interacting with patients must be trained in basic insurance literacy, compassionate communication, and problem-solving. Laura, in particular, demonstrated none of these. 3. Establish Direct Insurance Communication Protocols - "We don't talk to that insurance" is not a viable answer. You're in healthcare, not a private club. Work with insurance reps like every reputable urgent care center does. 4. Display Accepted Insurance Plans Clearly - Post them online, in your lobby, and on your forms. And update them regularly. Patients should know before they arrive whether they'll be turned away. 5. Create an Onsite Escalation Policy That Works - Patients in urgent need should not be stuck on hold or forced to leave. Have someone available - onsite - who can intervene and authorize care appropriately. 6. Track and Respond to Grievances - You're being reported for a reason. Ignoring patient complaints and grievances doesn't erase them; it just builds a stronger case for regulatory review. Until then, you're just another office failing the people you're supposed to care for. Of note, I asked to speak with the manager and administrator and was told that the managers are all in the billing department with the exception of Laura, who is "the front manager." I came in on 09/01/22 as I needed a updated TB test for a new job I'm starting and was found this place short notice as I needed one done ASAP. I called before arriving to make sure I would be seen before driving down and the man on the phone informed me I would be seen as long as I was in before 6:30pm. I went in and I was greeted by a lady who informed me to use the QR to register online for my TB test which the registration process took forever. About 20 minutes in she offered me to do a written forms which probably would have saved me more time but what ever as I know a lot of places are using online formats which I am old school just give me pen and paper and let me do my thing as the cell reception was terrible inside! After almost finishing the application my online application was accepted xD and $35 to have the test completed . So I was shortly called back and a young nurse administered my TB test going through the motions . She was friendly and sweet. I really liked her. She appeared new for sure! But definitely get the job done. I assured her she did wonderful ! It was a lovely experience. I had to come back to get the TB test read in 48 to 72 hours order to start my new employer . I arrived back on 09/04/22 and tried to arrive EARLY as I know how quickly urgent cares can be. I arrived a little after 9am and it was a packed house. I waited about 45 min just to have my arm rear which was not a problem as there was people there in distress which I understand. I hope all is well to the patients they serve. The Good: close to home. Relatively quick. The Bad: I went in for a sinus infection in May. Part of the check in paperwork is a signature page for lab work/tests which I never sign. I am not there for that. I know my body and I know what I have. The MD insisted I do a PCR test. I specifically asked the MA if it was covered and said I really don't need it, but she assured me my insurance would pay for it. Fast forward 8 months and I have now been billed $100.00 for the test. I got to the Clovis at 8:30am, the front door was open but no one came to the counter until 8:45. They open at 9pm so that was fine. However, the lady asked me an another gentleman who had since joined me in the line to go wait outside (it was raining) since they were not open. The other gentleman requested that she lets us wait inside so we don't get rained on and she said it was fine but we should wait outside in future. At 9am almost ten people walked in and most of them must be familiar with the process since they all had their forms filled online. It was at this point that the lady saw it for to tell the other gentleman and myself that we need to fill the forms on our phones. Two things, the fact that she saw it fit to tell us to wait out in the rain and also that she did not bother to mention anything about signing up beforehand is problematic for me. Instead of telling us to go wait outside, she would have suggested we take a sit inside and scan the QR code to get started with our forms. In the end the other gentleman and I got to sit as people who found us waiting got served and sent to triage. The lady did not even bother to call us first even though she knew we were there first. I was waiting for over an hour since the time I arrived before I was served. Edit: changing from 1 star to 2 stars for the attempt to make their process smooth using technology. I would have given one more star if we were simply informed about completion of forms at 8:45 instead of 9:05. I would have given another star if we were not asked to get back and wait in the rain. First time patient and I was very happy with the level of service during the visit. However, after the visit, I received a promotional advertising text message from the doctors office to the contact phone number I provided. I didn't sign anything or "opt in" to spam texts, and I've never received one on a phone number after providing it for medical purposes. There was no way to opt out in the text message. I called the office and they said every patient gets the same text and that it's not an advertisement. I disagree and I think, using our contact information provided in a medical setting is completely inappropriate to advertise to. Office worker withheld supposed test results out of anger and vindictiveness. I received a call this evening, 9/7/2023 at 6:40 pm from this urgent care. The woman, who did not give me her name, immediately started asking me to verify personal information without telling me anything about the purpose of the call. I had not been to this urgent care for over a month, so I had no reason to expect a call from them. I asked her what the purpose of the call was, and her response was, "Well I have results for you but if you don't want them, that's fine" and then immediately HUNG UP. I called back and was instantly disconnected. I called back once again and the phones were being sent directly to hold, where I stayed for close to 20 minutes with no answer. Essentially, this woman who is in charge of medical information got personally offended when I simply asked what the call was about, and in response, she told me I had test results and then prevented me from receiving them. Imagine thinking it's OK to give a patient, who is under the care of your team, vague, anxiety-provoking information regarding test results and then withholding them out of pettiness. NEVER in my life have I experienced customer service like this from a McDonald's, let alone a medical facility. DON'T HAVE X-RAY HERE! NO REPORT AFTER 4 WEEKS! STILL WAITING! We have been going to Clovis Premium Urgent Care if we had emergency in the weekend or our PCPs were fully booked since we moved here 3 years ago. I took my soon on Feb 24, 2024 because of his knee and foot injury. Dr. Green saw him and did the X-Ray. No broken bone. He said that he will sent them out to be reviewed by radiologist. I called the office on Tuesday and Wednesday, it's still not ready and they said that the doctor will call me after he reviews it. On Thursday, I went to clinic because I had a problem. Dr. Green remembered and saw me. I asked about my son's XRay report, he said that the machine is broken and will be fixed that day. In couple days, he will give me the result. I called the office again today on March 3, 2024, which it has been 8 days after X-Ray had done. They said that their machine is still broken. It's really disappointing. DON'T EVER DO THE X-RAY in that office. I just called again this morning on March 7, 2024 ( 12 days after the X-Ray had done, NO REPORT YET). The office called me back after I attempted to call them again and she said that the person who read the images is on vacation for 2 weeks. If I want the CD, they will charge me $10 and bring it to PCP to read it. I asked to speak with office manager which is Dr. Green, but she said that he isn't in the office today. I left the message to her to ask Dr. Green to call me tomorrow. They should be more responsible. Nobody called me back and I haven't received the report after 3.5 weeks. What a MESS!!! I called again Monday on March 11, 2024 at 3 PM as they supposed to call me as they promised. Only answering service answered the phone. He said that he left the message. I called twice. No one called me until today , March 23, 2024. I just called "again" . No report in my son's chart. I did MRI in one of the imaging centers. I will never come here again. First of all urgent care is first come first served, not first person to register THEMSELVES on line. I was the first person in the front door this morning but after I was asked if I had registered on line I said no she said scan the QR code and register, I did this and went back up and asked the girl "so since I was the first one here does that mean I will be seen first, she said no who ever has registered before me will be seen before me, I then asked well how many are before me, she said 9 . I said that's not right, she said nothing. This is my very first yelp review... the only time I've ever felt the need to leave a bad review is now... so I came in for a possible uti, first off!!! It's very unorganized and unsanitary. The waiting room chairs were just scattered around the place.They tell me to leave my urine sample in a random white plastic basket that has obviously not been cleaned out! I get to the back, tell my symptoms( nothing severe) and the doctor is telling me he needs to take a look? Um since when do they need to examine down there? This is urgent care, not my primary nor the GYN! I then ask if I can get seen by a female provider.. his answer is "no, you can go to the ER then". So rude! I then ask can I just get something proscribed to help in the mean time. He tells me he "can't give me anything without taking a look what's going on in there" .... Weird. So I say okay then thank you I'll go somewhere else, he just leaves the room without saying anything else. I walk out and ask if I can at least get my urine test results back and they reply with "we'll call you"....Anyway this was my first time going alone and I felt so uncomfortable coming out of that. I went to a Kaiser clinic down the street and they told me an exam wouldn't be done unless I personally needed or asked.. ever. They gave me my results quick and I did a self swab. Mind you we got orders went to Clovis community outpatient to get them done, was told by them they sent them over and should get them 3-5 mins after we left their facility.. here we are at the end of the week with no results waiting for this urgent care to get back to us. Don't ever go to this urgent care! I wish I read reviews before I went. I took my son for a physical yestrdy because he needed it for school and the office manager was absolutely horrible! She was the one who helped my son. She first took his weight and skipped over his height...and took him over for an eye test. She had him stand so far away which was not normal at all. Literally so far away my son was shocked and struggled to even read the larger letters because he was so far....and he is 20/20! I politely asked is this normal to be this far away? She rudely said yes and continued with his test. I responded wow I have never seen this before so I took my phone out and recorded just how far he was. I sent it to my family and friends to ask their opinions and they were in shock!!! They agreed absolutely this was not the standard and that there was not even a line on the floor to indicate where he should stand and that she just rushed the exam and had him stand anywhere. With that said... after that I asked her can you please take his height and she said sure but don't record. I didn't say anything. So as we walk back to where he was taken for his weight and she skipped his height in which I had to request. She has him stand on the scale again and she didn't ask him take his crocks off this time nor the first time she took his weight...so she started to extend the arm lever and the standing arm is hitting my sons head in between his forehead...Not even over his head and she begins to write down 72??? I said ummm that is not accurate... the lever is not even over his head! She says can you let me finish rudely and I said ok sure but you verbally said 72 and writing it down but I am noticing the lever isn't on top of his head. She said yes that is because he is too tall???? I said what? But you just told me to let you finish? How are you going to finish if he is too tall? She responds well it doesn't go past 6ft.... I asked so what is his height ? She said let's go ahead and walk you out and get you a refund because you aren't allowing me to do my job. I said no I waited 2 hours and I am simply asking questions based on my observations. She said well you recorded me and asking me all these questions. I said yes, I am not yelling, cursing or being rude... I am asking you some things I am obviously observing and simply asking you questions. That isn't out of line as he is receiving a physical. She said you need to leave. I said if he didn't need this today I would and if I didn't wait 2 hours but my son needs this right now so go ahead and complete his exam. She said only if you allow me to finish and not say anything. So I had to stay quite for the sake of my son. I left this business with so much disappointment of how rude the manager was. I asked to speak to the manager and unfortunately she said she was. This manager should not be helping patients period because she provides half ass service and has no care in the world about the people that go in there. She thinks because she is a manager she has a right to treat people so rudely for asking questions. She was called out and hated that everything she did was incorrect and I caught on and noticed it. She is not someone that should be representing that business and based on other reviews she has no respect for anyone and thinks she is able to just treat people like crap because of her title. Your just a number and she don't care about your needs, and trys to get you out as fast as she can once you have paid and waited in waiting room for hours and knows your desperate so she thinks you shouldn't have a voice! It's funny the manager wants to just justify the distance which by no means is accurate still in his explanation... but the height and the way we were treated is still disregarded when you read their response! I found this urgent care on line and called to make sure they take my insurance, they did so I headed straight there. My first visit was for my mother she is elderly and needed to be seen immediately. The waiting room was full and I was pleasantly surprised with how fast we were seen. We were in and out in about 1. My second visit was for my sister she had an ear infection. We did the paper work online while driving there, checked in and she was seen immediately. That was a 40mins urgent care appointment. Doctor Green and the other practitioners I've had over the last couple of years are very thorough but still direct, getting you the care you need quickly. The front desk/medical assistants seem disorganized though, and I have had issues during my last couple of visits with getting sometime to follow up on my culture swabs. I have always had to call them multiple times to get someone to tell me if the results are in or not, and what was detected. Sometimes they leave vague voicemails that don't make sense - for instance the last time I returned their call I was told they have no record of calling me. The time before that they left a voicemail asking me to call or text them if I'd like to make an appointment. I had already been in to an urgent care visit and was just waiting on cultures to result, so was confused. When I called today I was finally able to get sometime to give me my results. I asked if they use MyChart or CareEverywhere and was told that they have their own system, pretty sure I recall them using Epic as their EHR base so idk what they could be using for information sharing. They said if I want my records to come down there and request them. Not super convenient for patient access or other record sharing needs, I just literally want to know what I'm infected with. I needed to see one of their providers and decided to try them out. My rating is based on average as I wasn't "WOWED," and they just did their jobs. You scan a QR code to fill out paperwork electronically to include uploading documents, or you can print the patient forms at home and bring them in. I was seen relatively quickly; 30-45 minutes not bad considering its urgent care. I got my vitals taken, went back into the lobby, and was called back about 5-10 minutes later to be seen by the provider. I waited in the room for less than 5 minutes, and the provider showed up and asked what I was being seen for. So again overall process is average. If I needed to come again on the weekend, I would not hesitate. read more

I had an overall horrible experience here. I went to this location because it was the first one recommended in my insurance portal when I searched for urgent cares that were covered by it. I was promptly turned away by the receptionist because they supposedly only take Anthem Blue Cross (Medi-Cal program) as a secondary insurance. The receptionist wasn't interested in figuring out why my insurance portal and insurance rep literally said otherwise. I was rudely told to go to their location on Shaw with no apologies. If that location can take my insurance, why couldn't this one? Seems pretty shady and discriminatory to me. read more

It's been a horrible experience. Lack of patient care and customer service. Ordered the wrong MRI, causing us to have to pay for another, took multiple calls to send over referral to get the MRI, never sent MRI results to orthopedic center(even after many calls). Now records are needed for insurance and the manager is horrible, everyone is giving us mixed information, hung up on us, lost signed paperwork. I recently moved to the area and unfortunately felt the symptoms of some sort of abdominal infection. I went to this facility per a list from my insurance company that they take my insurance. I wait in the lobby after filling out my paperwork and they let me know the reason for the long wait was that their system was down so they couldn't verify my insurance. I was the only one in the lobby and waited 20 mins prior to them letting me know this. I told them my insurance company sent me to them but the lady made me pay the $150 even though I shouldn't pay anything. They assured me they would credit me back when the system is up. They never did. The individual I was seen by asked me some questions that lead me to believe that weren't fully sure as to what I had. They prescribed antibiotics and said they would call me with the results of the lab work they sent out. It's been over a week. I have called over 7 times for two consecutive days in a row. We've been nice, we've tried requesting a manager. They've given us the absolute runaround. I can't get anyone to call me back and let me know what the lab work says. They improperly billed me, and now won't let me know what my lab work says holding my results hostage. They have an awful answering service where a representative named Jason answers and provides absolutely no assistance. An answering machine would be more helpful. I will be reporting them to my credit card, insurance company, and any other agency I can. This is by far the worst urgent care experience I have ever had. I've been in practices flooded with patients and treated attentively with far better care. I visited 12/14 and can even provide photos and receipts, and notes of all of the above information. read more

Do not come to this facility. They are overcharging for labs, even a simple urine culture. First time I had gotten urine culture had come about to around $500, luckily my insurance at that time covered most of the cost and the lab gave me a discount for $99. This time around for a simple UTI, I am getting a bill for $745!!! Apparently the lab had my old insurance and they are going to process again with the new insurance but still why would a urine culture cost this much just by itself?! I looked at the statement details for the lab bill and it showed all of this which seems very unnecessary for urine culture: -Staph aureus - $43.86 -Group B strep - $43.86 -Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A strep) - $43.86 -Detect Agent NOS DNA Amp - $482.46 -Candida DNA Amp Probe - $131.58 read more
