Bottom Line: A prominent spot that serves ice cream and slushies but service is poor. We stopped at the The Slushie Stand without doing any research. It was a hot day and this place was super close to our B&B. I had a small syrup slushy and my husband had a scoop of ice cream. The slushy seemed like a good deal but the scoop of ice cream was about $4. Prices are posted on the menu board when you walk in but when you get to the register the prices are higher if you are using a debit/credit card. This practice seems misleading and raises some other questions in my mind . . . The owner/manager was working the register and was a bit impatient and a tad condescending. On the upside, I think the business has a cute logo. There are a lot of respectable, hard-working, enthusiastic, hospitable businesses on Ocracoke Island and that is where I want to spend my time and money.

    Frappuccino (disgusting, do not recommend)

By far the worst experience I have ever had in any place of business. I came in with my husband because we were both thirsty and wanted to try one of the local businesses on the island. My husband ordered a lemonade slushy, and I ordered a Frappuccino from their menu. The girl working the front was very friendly but seemed unsure about how to make a Frappuccino, so she went to the side and asked another girl for help. After we paid, the girl came back and asked me what kind of ice cream and syrup I wanted (I think I chose chocolate with caramel). We were waiting inside a few minutes, and then the owner came around and said it will be out shortly but that we should wait right outside a side door where they will bring it out. About a minute later, one of the girls came out the side door where we were waiting and gave my husband his slushy (which he said was "pretty good"). As I was waiting for my Frappuccino, I noticed the girls coming in and out delivering other orders to other people who were also asked to wait outside the side door. I figured mine was taking a bit longer because of the greater complexity than a slushy. I then counted 5 minutes when I began to look in the window and wave to make sure they knew I was still waiting. The owner was still there working the front with the girls. 10 minutes then went by and my husband convinced me to walk back in to ask what was taking so long, which I always feel so uncomfortable doing (but he was practically done with his slushy and we wanted to get to the lighthouse). When I went in the front, I was rudely yelled at by the owner, "You need to close the door." This was so loud and rude that everyone inside turned to face me. I was so embarrassed on top of frustrated from having to wait so long. I then politely asked, "I'm still waiting for my Frappuccino I ordered about 10 minutes ago." He then replied, in a tone even more rude than before, "You have to come in first and close the door." So I walked in and approached the counter, trying so hard to be nice still. He then went on about how it's been in the back the whole time and no one could find me even though I was exactly where I was told to be and consistently made eye contact with the staff members while I was waiting! I was (and still am) astonished by that. I tried my hardest and managed to put on a smile while I was fighting back tears and said "Thank you so much, sir." He then proceeded to look me dead in the eye and crouched down to my level and said, "You don't have to be so nasty." I'm still surprised at my own strength for choosing to just walk out without saying anything more. I was at this point on the verge of dehydration so I managed to scarf back some of the Frappuccino. It was honestly disgusting, and I have never had a Frappuccino I didn't finish. I would never recommend this establishment to anyone (including their bike rental).

I was visiting from Virginia and decided to try their ice cream. Their moose tracks ice cream was great. Also, tried their delicious chocolate chipped cookies. Good stuff.

The chocolate flavor was good, but I think it's pretty hard to get chocolate wrong, so it was standard. The first few bites of the birthday cake flavor were yummy and had sprinkles in them, but by the end of the scoop, my mouth was coated with this super sugary cream and I couldn't finish it

I had a fresh lime slushy and it was delicious! Pretty pricey though- $5 for a lime, sugar, and ice is more than it should be.

Had to wait to go inside due to short staff, not a long wait at all and was a nice day out anyways.

This charming spot is one of the many dessert gems on the island, and it's hands-down one of my favorites. The shop has a welcoming vibe, and it's always buzzing with excitement. The long line that snakes across the porch is proof of its popularity, but don't let that deter you--the staff here are pros at keeping things moving. They're always friendly, even when the line is packed, and they work tirelessly to make sure everyone gets their sweet fix as quickly as possible. What We Ordered: * Chocolate/Vanilla Soft Serve Swirl on a Cone * Chocolate Malt Shake with Oreos * Chocolate Nor'Easter (their take on a Blizzard, with Oreos and pecans) * Dark Chocolate Nor'Easter (loaded with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips) The star of the show is their ice cream which is so creamy, rich, and consistently delicious. The soft serve cone was a classic, perfectly swirled and smooth. The Chocolate Malt Shake was thick, indulgent, and packed with the perfect amount of Oreo crunch. The Nor'Easters stole the show for me. I love how you get to customize your toppings, and the way they swirl everything together ensures every bite is packed with flavor. The Chocolate Nor'Easter was a dreamy combination of Oreos and pecans, while the Dark Chocolate version was a chocoholic's paradise, with layers of chocolate sprinkles and chips for extra texture. Ocracoke Fudge and Ice Cream Shop has truly mastered the art of dessert. Whether you're stopping by for a quick cone or diving into one of their indulgent creations, you're guaranteed to leave happy. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and consistently. Highly recommend coming here :)
