Bad customer treatment for any place, let alone a beach shop
Ted C.

Wish I could give this place and Fig Tree no stars. Every sign has the word "no" on it, including no samples of ice cream. For real? $10 minimum for debit and credit, which is ridiculous. It's 2019-Get a better POS system or put your customers before max profit. Would have walked out but my 8 yo already started eating her ice cream cone. Together with a soda that was $5, so I had to buy a $5 bag of pretzels to pay. I've been coming to the island for 44 years. Looking forward to the restaurant that will be here when this place goes under.

Lady in there is so rude. So impatient and blatantly mean to kids. Will never recommend this place. No hospitality.

Stopped here for sandwiches interesting selection. They hit the spot before boarding the ferry back to the mainland.

Actually, Candyland is the best, but the people who work there can be pretty rude, so don't bother.

We actually came here twice! The first day I got an Italian soda, which was delicious, but very…read moresweet. I would ask for half the sweetness next time. The service was very friendly, all staffers were very helpful. The second day we went back after trying to go to another ice cream place whose computer was down so they were only taking cash. I literally never carry cash in this day and age. So back to Bear city fudge Co we went! The ice cream was amazing, no notes. Highly recommend!

I don't go to this shop often. Primarily when friends and family come to town. Plus they have…read moreChocolatye covered bacon Yummy!!!! Today I was showing my cousin around and we decided we wanted ice cream...and I wanted some bacon. Cute retro vibe establishment..its Saturday teh store is busy and it looks like there are only two ppl maning the store. One is scooping ice cream the other is making shakes and getting candy. I get in the candy line I'm next the very nice young lady takes my order...I ralize after getting it I want icecream...I ask her can I take the bacon and pay with the ice cream..she responded yes. While standing in the ice cream line I get a call from friends to meet for lunch...I tell my cousin..I'll get ice cream afterwards. To my surprise I see another young lady ringing folks up..I'm next. The young woamn names is Emma I found out later. Emma finishes ringing up the ladies ice cream , I step up..Emma looks at me...doesnt say a word..leaves to the back and open the fridge looks init..bends down as though she is hiding ..stand back up. ..closes the door ..mind you she pulls nothing out. Then she heads over to the ice cream counter and asks who is next. WHAT IN THE COW is going on?!!!!! A male customer waiting in line is watching the entire thing..he asks me.."do you want me to get her attention" I answer no thank you put the bacon on the counter and got my cousin to leave. I'm halfway down the street and said I'm going to address this blatant rudeness...or was she being something else? These are questions I have to ask myself when folks act out of character to me and not others. Went back in shop is now less crowded I asked the young lady that got my bacon where the manager is. She got Rachal on the phone. I took the call outside- told Rachal the entire story...she offered NO APOLOGIES..NO ICE CREAM , OR BACON or anything for that employee's bad behavior. All she did do was tell me how wonderful Emma is and that she is one of her best employees. At that point I knew nothing was going to be said or done or changed. As a matter of fact Rachal told me to tell her employee that her later. I politely declined ..I said I don't work for you...and If I say anything to the young woman ..she'll be in tears and leave. I've had my own business with 5 employees to deal with. Everything starts at the top. Emma felt compfortable doing that to me...cause she knew nothing would happen?! See sad thing is..cause there was no apology just praise for a job done HORRIBLY!!!! I get to write this REVIEW andtellmy truth. Then I get to tell everyone I know in NewBern ...then Iget to tell my customers who visit me at the New Bern Farmers Market when they ask for ice cream or an old retro vibe ice cream store...I can tell them definitely don't go there!!! Rachal and Emma do better..be better..act better...the world is diverse like it or not....I would love to hear from the owner..no not Rachal the half baked manager the owner. I'm ready to listen...or I can be Heard allover New Bern. Your choice.

When you're on Ocracoke Island, there's no better way to wrap up your evening than with a visit to…read morethe Ocracoke Fudge and Ice Cream Shop! This charming spot is one of the many dessert gems on the island, and it's hands-down one of my favorites. The shop has a welcoming vibe, and it's always buzzing with excitement. The long line that snakes across the porch is proof of its popularity, but don't let that deter you--the staff here are pros at keeping things moving. They're always friendly, even when the line is packed, and they work tirelessly to make sure everyone gets their sweet fix as quickly as possible. What We Ordered: * Chocolate/Vanilla Soft Serve Swirl on a Cone * Chocolate Malt Shake with Oreos * Chocolate Nor'Easter (their take on a Blizzard, with Oreos and pecans) * Dark Chocolate Nor'Easter (loaded with chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips) The star of the show is their ice cream which is so creamy, rich, and consistently delicious. The soft serve cone was a classic, perfectly swirled and smooth. The Chocolate Malt Shake was thick, indulgent, and packed with the perfect amount of Oreo crunch. The Nor'Easters stole the show for me. I love how you get to customize your toppings, and the way they swirl everything together ensures every bite is packed with flavor. The Chocolate Nor'Easter was a dreamy combination of Oreos and pecans, while the Dark Chocolate version was a chocoholic's paradise, with layers of chocolate sprinkles and chips for extra texture. Ocracoke Fudge and Ice Cream Shop has truly mastered the art of dessert. Whether you're stopping by for a quick cone or diving into one of their indulgent creations, you're guaranteed to leave happy. The atmosphere, friendly staff, and consistently. Highly recommend coming here :)
