Taco Dinner with 2 Skirt Steak Tacos and 1 Fish Taco
Amy A.

Got Ochoa's Mexican Grill for delivery and made a few customization requests (like no cilantro, add limes, etc) and they handled it perfectly. I got exactly what I ordered. And the one thing they couldn't do, they left me a note explaining. Great service! The food was tasty too! Skirt steak tacos are the best in the area! Fish tacos are good also for a change of pace. Recommend!!

I went to Ochoa's Mexican Grill with some friends to celebrate Taco Tuesday. They have a special discount on Tuesdays: one dollar off tacos. It was a pretty good deal. Other places have a limited set of tacos available to order with a special price. My husband and I decided to get six tacos and try a variety of flavors. Once we ordered the tacos they were served pretty fast. Ochoa's can handle a high volume of orders. We got the chicken, ground beef, birria, shrimp, carnitas, and steak tacos. Aside from the shrimp, all of the tacos tasted the same. Not only were they indistinguishable but they were severely under-seasoned. The restaurant was nice, we could sit and talk for a while.

I've been eating here since they opened. I had a lengua burrito my son had a steak quesadillas Burrito very little meat all veg. They didn't offer cilantro and onions. The steak on questions was dry hardly any cheese, They are kinda expensive I don't mind if the quality was good. Not sure if I will be back.

Great hidden gem in the nw burbs. Ordering is at the counter and they bring the food out quickly. Always consistent in quality every time we've eaten here. Large portions, large menu, friendly staff, and authentic. Highly recommend this spot!

If you're looking for a solid taco and casual atmosphere, Ochoa's is the place to be. I've been a few times and the food is always fresh and delicious. The guys at the counter are nice and patient. The restaurant is clean. I'm glad there's a great taco place by work!

Ochoa's Mexican grill is the hidden gem in Deerfield. I would say that compete with any Mexican restaurant even in the city. The food quality is of high quality! I loved the attention for the dietary restrictions they asked us about! The staff even recommended items for us. If you are in Deerfield you need to try OMG out!

Asada taco and chorizo taco

So, after our baseball game, we hit up this Mexican place for dinner. It's kind of a self serve situation, you order and pay first, then grab a table. It was pretty busy, lots of to-go orders flying around. Weirdly, they had a Bollywood channel playing on the TV not exactly what you'd expect in a Mexican restaurant! But the food? Oh man, the food was amazing! Great portions, too. We grabbed some horchata only one size, and it was already poured into cups and chilling in the fridge. A little unusual, I usually see it in a big container, but whatever! I got the loaded fries seriously addictive, huge portion! I also tried an asada taco, but the meat was a little...off. The chorizo taco was okay, but could have used a bit more cooking. The real star was the California burrito with skirt steak. It's a couple of bucks extra, but totally worth it so tender and juicy! And those fries inside? Flavor explosion in your mouth! We also got a lengua gordita. The gordita dough was perfect nice and soft, not hard at all. The lengua was tender, although the slices were a bit big for me. Still delicious though! The quesobirria we got three pieces was also great, especially with the consomé. Honestly, the loaded fries were better than any Chipotle bowl I've ever had! They also do a burrito bowl version if fries aren't your thing. The owners were super friendly and checked on us a few times. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Surf and turf Burrito Bowl

I got there about 10 minutes before closing and they were nice enough to still serve me. I ordered the surf and turf bowl and man was it good! It was packed with fresh ingredients; it had so much meat in it that I think it had more than the rice! I'll definitely be back.

Food still good like the last couple of times I went. Service and staff were friendly. Only small thing was the guacamole was kinda bland, but with the flick of the wrist and a salt shaker, it was good. I like the guacamole being chunky, which I found to be the case here.

Are their tortillas made in house with an overwhelming of love?

I would say the amount of love put into the tortillas is perfectly adequate, not overwhelming.

I asked which vegan meat was more flavorful, and they recommended the vegan pastor, which had a great texture and taste! I was also happy that the Mexican rice and refried beans are vegan too! The service was quick, and I was in and out in 5 minutes. I didn't stay there to eat, but the restaurant's atmosphere was nice (not too loud, which I appreciate). I will definitely be back here to try food other than a burrito!

The restaurant was bright with papel picado on the ceiling and lively reggaeton music. You order at the counter, and can get burritos, tacos, bowls. I did not order a tlacoyo but instead got a barbacoa bowl with lettuce. The barbacoa (lamb) was a little stringy (the texture of lamb?) although it was tender and had a nice flavor. Without rice or beans it was a little liquidy in the bowl (my fault perhaps because I omitted rice), although it could have been the sauce they suggested and I liked it. I also ordered an horchata but it was too sweet for me. This was fun and a good option although I think next time I should try tacos instead.

I came across the reviews of Guzman y Gomez on Yelp, and it sounded great, and we decided to try it. When I looked it up, I found out that if I ordered through the app we could start earning rewards, so we did this, and went inside to pick up the order and eat. Everything was ready and waiting in a large bag for us to pick up. We grabbed it at the pick up window, and went into the dining area to sit and eat. I ordered two tacos, and my husband got a burrito. With the tacos, I chose ground beef, and chose mild on the seasoning. They were very good, although I think next time I'll try spicy and see if I like that even better. But what set them apart was that the taco shells themselves had some taco seasoning on them that was delicious. The tacos also just had the basics, which is how I like them - meat, cheese, and salsa. And two were plenty for me, very substantial. My husband tried the ground beef burrito, which was huge. He could only eat half, and took the other half to eat later. He said he enjoyed it a lot. We were looking forward to going back, but I read just now that all the Chicago locations have closed as of today. That's a shame, because we really liked it a lot.

They have a lot of protein you can choose from like grilled chicken, sirloin, steak, Carnitas, shredded beef, brisket, seasoned ground beef, or sautéed vegetables with guacamole. The burritos is on the smaller side, but it packs a punch full of flavor. From the fries to the salsa to the fresh pico. Highly recommended the Cali burrito. They also have this salsas, cilantro, and jalapeño and spicy pickled carrots station where you can help yourself . They also serve liquor here . The decor inside definitely has the Spanish theme. I…read moreoriginally picked the place based on pictures of their nachos online, and they did not disappoint. The presentation was spot on, and every layer was generously coated with toppings. The only minor drawback was that the added protein felt a bit sparse, so I would likely skip paying extra for that on the next visit. As for the kids, they completely devoured the chicken quesadillas before I even got a chance to try a bite, which is a ringing endorsement in itself. The tacos here diverge from traditional street tacos. Instead of a light balance, they pack in a much higher meat-to-topping ratio. We tried the barbacoa and chicken tinga, both of which were expertly prepared and packed with rich, delicious flavor. However, because they are so heavily loaded and juicy, the tortillas simply could not maintain structural integrity. It was impossible to pick them up and eat them like standard tacos, but attacking them with a fork solved the problem easily enough. A special shoutout goes to the house-made salsas. Both the red and green options were outstanding and elevated every bite. Overall, the atmosphere and quality land right in that sweet spot--an upgraded, elevated step above a chain like Chipotle, while still being more casual than a sit-down, traditional Mexican restaurant. Paired with exceptionally friendly staff service, it was a great experience and a spot we would happily return to. Great outdoor seating.
