Favorite tacos on the North Shore! Teriyaki salmon taco? Yes please. It's as good as it sounds. The chicken tinga and tuna tacos are my other go-tos, but you really can't go wrong with any of the tacos. All are packed full of flavorful fillings and toppings that add contrast. The last time I was here was during COVID, where dine-in was not an option, so it was great to try the indoor dining this time around. I was greeted at the door and there are menu on the wall where you can order from, but the person there told me I could have a seat and they brought the menu out to me. I ordered a few tacos to try and they were great. Sad I didn't see the sign for taco of the week -- braised brisket... I'll need to try that, along with their soup flight. Taco Vida has become a staple over the years and finally has seating available inside again which was closed during Covid. This is not your average taco restaurant. The tacos are more gourmet than normal and priced within the $5.5-$8.5 range. I personally think $8.5 is steep for a taco. When paying this price, I expect a quality taco. I was very disappointed to see that my crispy camarones taco was advertised to have watermelon radish, however, it came with regular radish. The menu was misleading. My favorites are still the carne asada taco and crispy camarones taco. The green and red salsas are nice additions. I tried the pollo taco today and it was lacking in seasoning, but loaded with fresh veggies. Seating is no longer order at the counter and then sit down. They now come to your table to take orders. My favorite, Al pastor, is delicious but so is the Sea of Cortez fish taco -- beer battered thank you very much. I hate to be negative, but I feel reviews need to be truthful. I came in at lunchtime and there was a few empty tables that I was helped to right away. The place looks and smells clean and the decor is nice. The music is a perfect level and not so loud you can't hear yourself think. I looked at the menu and noticed the prices were pretty high, but that is what it is and if things are good, it's worth it. I notice that they did not offer chips and salsa complementary which was a bit disappointing especially with the menu prices. I seen that a half order of guacamole was $6.50 and chips and salsa was five dollars so I decided to try the chips and salsa because it seems like a good quality restaurant and they would have great housemaid salsa. I then ordered a ice water and a Coke and was informed that they only have cans and bottles of soda not a soda fountain, which was a negative as well. I ordered two Quesabirria tacos with the consume. When the chips and salsa came to the table, I was extremely disappointed to see it was just a basket of chips with their hot and mild squeeze bottles of hot sauce that they give you to put on the tacos so basically I paid five dollars for a basket of chips when I could've had chips and guacamole for $6.50 and would've gotten the hot and mild sauce with my meal. The Quesabirria came later and it was OK. It was nothing to get excited about. I don't know if the other people that review this place just don't get out much or this area does not have a selection of good food, but I will not return. A spot to eat an unhealthy amount of tacos that are amazing! Yes it's a bit pricey per taco but well worth it. Everything is made fresh and with quality ingredients. I've never had a corn tortilla this good. Normally I'm not a fan of them but it's the first place that I've actually liked it. Big fan of the carne, Al pastor, sea of Cortez, and fried shrimp tacos! Now the only thing taking away a star is the rather small seating area. The kitchen sort of blends into the dining room and you have to walk through the staging area to get to the bathroom. In general, we're fans of Taco Vida. The food is good, and the taco choices go beyond the standard. The guacamole is very good, but their queso is just ok. Which, granted, is better than no queso, which is what you get in most places round here. When we've dined in the restaurant, the service has been pleasant and helpful. However, last time we were there, they decided to enforce their no-partial-group seating policy for the first time, even though there was literally no other customers in the restaurant. This is a problem for us, as my wife has a short lunchtime, and our standard practice is for me to order for her so she can start eating when she arrives. We've been able to do this before, but when I mentioned it to the manager this time, she became very defensive and unpleasant. We'll probably do dinner again sometime, but I doubt we'll be back for lunch. read more

If you have not tried Taco Vida yet, I don't know what else to tell you, except to go now! My kids and I have been here a few times now because we loved their tacos so much from our first visit. Taco Vida is located in a big commercial strip area so parking is pretty easy. Once we walked in, we were asked if we were dining in or just taking out. We sat inside and someone greeted us right away. I like that their menu focuses on tacos although they have certain special dishes as well. They had soup and tostada specials the one day we came, and they also had Tamale Tuesday. We tried various proteins in tacos: CARNE ASADA, CHICKEN TINGA, CAMARONES, and the SEA OF CORTEZ. We loved them all. Each taco had generous protein pieces, as well as the respective fixings they had. My personal favorite was the Carne Asada. The steak was delicious and super tender. Honestly, I also loved the shrimp and the fish. I seriously loved them all. They have the red and green salsa. They are both so good! My kids and I all liked the green one better because the red one was a tad too spicy for us. I also tried the LIME MARGARITA, and this was fresh and wonderful. The FRIED PLANTAINS was also a tasty treat for me. They were made to order so they were hot and perfectly cooked. The place gets really busy so the turnover is quite fast. The service was very friendly, fast, and pleasant. They have a water station where customers can either help themselves or one of the staff members would serve as well. This was my first time visiting, but I've heard they've been take out only for a long time now. These tacos were HUGE!! I only ate 2 tacos and some chips & guac and I was so full the rest of the day, I don't even think I ate dinner. The shrimp taco is a must. It comes with some creamy sauce on it that makes it so good. Their fish taco was great too, I loved the mango salsa on it. Omg ! This is the best taco spot in the area. The corn tortillas are fresh and smooth and the tacos aren't little and nor was my tasty strawberry margarita. Each taco is unique, tasty and service was fast! there's plenty of parking , the staff was helpful but my favorite part was the red salsa. Im a salsa verde kind of girl but the salsa rojo tastes like I was made with roasted tomatoes. It was bold and flavorful. FINALLY found fresh HOMEMADE corn tortillas!! I heard about this place a while back, but haven't had a chance to check it out. Boy was i pleasantly surprised! I ordered guacamole, chips and salsa, which came with two salsas one salsa Verde and the other a smoky chili salsa. Also, ordered Carne Asada tacos and ground beef. YUMMMMM. From the photos I thought it was an order at the counter and find your own table place but they actually seated us and took our order. We visited Taco Vida and ordered takeout since the COVID-19 pandemic couldn't allow us to eat within the grounds. We started with a chips and guacamole side in addition to their elotes. Both were very good and the guacamole would be on my top 3. We also ordered a number of tacos such as the Carne Asada, Sea of Cortez, and the Shrimp tacos. We had no complaints with our food but if given a choice to pick a standout, it would be the Sea of Cortez. I ordered the beer battered tilapia version and it was perfection.
