In need of revitalization in my opinion. This could be a major component of Oceanside's growing charm for tourists and locals alike. Unfortunately, the Harbor is hidden away far from Oceanside's Pier and "downtown" area with Mission and Tremont streets. The restaurants and shops here seem touristy and outdated. The overall views can be impressive, but the whole compound is tiny especially compared to Dana Point Harbor. Parking is across a street and through a small tunnel, so any access here requires near death from oblivious motorists. Poor layout. read more

Very scenic harbor with plenty of restaurants and shops to check out. There was one joint that boasts "puerto neuvo style lobster" and lobster tacos. However it was closed when we arrived, we got there around 9am and they open around 11am. Definitely going back for this allegedly puerto nuevo style lobster... The beach is also near by within a short walk. Very nice beach. Kinda crowded, even this early in the morning there was already tons of people, mostly surfers. read more

I love the Oceanside Harbor. There's lots to do, from biking, beaching, boating to boozing. Great selection of restaurants and bars, beautiful scenery, fantastic people watching, There is a beach soccer tournament held there in May or June every year, and hot soccer guys come from all over the world to play in it. Perfect place to just sit back and unwind w/a tall cold one and unwind. Service is great, young and friendly. The chip/salsa bar is a nice touch if you're not in the mood for a meal buy would prefer to just enjoy a snack. I recommend sitting out on the patio and soaking up some sun while people watching and enjoying the view of the harbor. Good selection of classic rock music is played at just the right volume. GREAT place to be if you either live there or are just visiting. :-D read more

Fun little place that's not too crowded. We went on a Friday night. Cute little shops, lots of places to eat and had a beautiful sunset view. We ate at Harbor Fish and Chips and the Mom and Pops ice cream parlor, both were good:) Our family recently moved to Oceanside, this will be one our go to spots for sure. read more

This is the worst overnight for a boat! The bathroom fob would not open the Men's showers! The worst is the barking seals have over run all the transient piers! The seals are very noisy, smell and are extremely aggressive! If you are sailing up or down the coast avoid Oceanside Harbor. If I could give negative s stars I would! read more

I love Oceanside harbor!! You have the beach on one side and the harbor on another. It's the best of both worlds!! I have a 2 month old son that i love walking him around there. My complaint is the restaurants. I have been to a few of them and haven't been very impressed. There are so many great restaurants going in near the pier that I tend to forget about the harbor for dining options. If that part would improve it would make it even better!! read more

Very fun place to go for shopping to grab a quick bite to eat or for dinner. The harbor has probably a hundred boats and sprinkled with little businesses around it with bars and restaurants in gift shops. Then there's the beach right next to it which is very nice with a pier on it that you can walk out on. Is plenty of places to walk and run along the beach the pier and in the harbor all of this is a fantastic place to hang out for an evening. parking is across the street and you gotta to go through a tunnel, sometimes cars go in and out and it makes it a little tricky so watch out for that. read more

Oceanside Harbor blends a fishing community with beachgoers. If you want to spend a day at the beach, there is ample sand with a wide stretch to the tideline. There are covered picnic tables where you can enjoy time with friends and family, and many trash and recycling Ben's to clean up after your feast. You can bring a beach chair and relax in the waves. There is paid parking close to the beach but you can park for free if you are willing to walk from a tunnel next to the harbor. There are also plenty of restrooms along the sand. There are fire rings for bonfires, but if you want one during the busy season you need to get there early in the day. You can also watch boats come and go as they are put into the water right next to the beach. You'll see lots of people fishing from the rocks on the jetty and hear the sounds of the sea lions. O K here's a real review of the harbor.If you are a boat owner looking for a slip go elsewhere. The office personal are unfriendly & rude. The cops actually had a group of dock people who where partying @ 2:00 in the afternoon turn there music Down. The cop some old grumpy gray haired dude. Actually had his hand on his gun as he got off the harbor patrol boat. Keep in mind dear reader the youngest noise maker at this party was about 48. As the gray haired cop got off his boat. A young ginger cop with same attitude approached the group from the shore. One of the slip renters asked whats the problem. He was told to keep his mouth shut. I'm sure by now your asking if this took place in Nazi Germany in 1938. No this type of police behavior takes place quite often in the harbor.We aren't boaters were suspects. This was a nice excuse to get out of the house and go for a walk next to the beach and see live entertainment. There wasnt a lot of cool vendors out compared to other events like this. They did however provide free shuttling service to and from the event. read more

Nice quaint hidden gem just off of the I-5 freeway. Lots of cute shops and restaurants and great place to people watch or just hang out and watch the boats and birds and sea life. Don't forget that there is a Jolly Roger restaurant on the North side of the harbor also. read more

One of my favorite beaches! Great little shops and love the rock pier! Never too crowded on the beach either! Kayaking rentals are only about $15/hr! Dont get too close to the seals in the water tho, they will attack! Make sure to check out the tea and coffee shop just before the beach! read more

Love the harbor! I bring my dogs here all the time. There is lots of free parking and great restaraunts. I love Rockin Baja! The beach is never overly packed and you can walk to the boat ramp to see the seals. Perfect place to see the sunset! read more

"Rock 'n Baja Lobster Grill and Sports Bar" and "Joe's Crab Shack": if you like these restaurants, they're located here. Clean area, I sense families feel 'safe' walking around the harbor and lots of beach activity. The beaches next to the harbor have firepits, lots of surfers and bodyboarders doing their thing. Our family (with small kids) spends lots of significant beach time here on special occasions, and just generally hanging out at the beach. Free parking is available in close walking distance to the harbor restaurants which is a real plus. read more

It's like a crappy version of San Diego nothing but overpriced food and bums walking around the fishing fleet is laughable at best.

the guys at the snack bar make the best sandwiches and great customer service. ITs a small shop, but if your at the beach , 6 bucks will get you an amazing sandwich and the water is free! at least for now ! . Honestly they make some good eats for a snackbar and there is fish there daily cut and ready for lime and spices for a cooking. good job guys read more

This place was a surprise. Had reports from several years ago and never went. Well, things do change! Some money spent, energy well placed and a good chef and there you go! Brunch was our choice and a good one it was. Not a real fancy set up but well manned and food fresh. Choices? Uh, YES! Made to order omelets and eggs. Cut to order prime rib. Make your own tacos. Wonderful selection of Chicken, fish, shrimp and shellfish. Salads, pancakes, breads and steamed veggies. Then for dessert... wonderful and fresh. We sat outside at Sunset and just loved it! The service was wonderful, the food was great and very well priced, and the setting was spectacular. I had the steak and my girlfriend had a fish dish and both were very nice. The sweet potato fries and the creme brulee were also awesome. I highly reccomend this place. It has the perfect combination of good food, good prices and a wonderful ocean view. They also have a very extensive wine selection. My husband and I live about 3 minutes from Oceanside harbor. We LOVE it. I actually grew up hanging out in my dads motorhome in the summer time. Perfect spot for boating, kayaks, paddle board, jet skis, you name it. The beach is nice and clean but does get pretty crowded during the summer time. There are so many neat little trinket shops, restaurants, and family bars around the entire harbor. I have done many fishing trips on the Sportfishing boats that are located in the Oceanside Harbor and I truly recommend coming here to anyone and everyone who has never been or is coming to visit. Great place. Easy parking in the back parking lot behind Joe's Crab Shack. You have to walk through a tunnel where vehicles drive through to get there, but its nothing major. Great little shops and restaurants along the way to the beach. Harbor is full of activity, with boats, people paddleboarding and kayaking, fishing, etc. The beach is nice, with lots of activity, body surfers and regular surfers, people picknicing under the covered gazebos, walking, etc. Relaxed beach.
