I was then told that the owner had booked another party for the dates we submitted, and so our reservation was not accepted although it was indeed 'confirmed' soon after I booked. Seems like the owner blocked out the calendar AFTER we submitted our reservation, something you absolutely cannot do on a platform like Airbnb and VRBO -- in fact, if property owners did that on those platforms, they would be fined. Needless to say, with all the time you place into securing a rental, this was a complete waste of my time. Save yourself the headache and book with a more reliable source.

Jonathan's kind and gentle handing of my stream of questions alone was enough to make him a good agent, but that's not all you get from him. We were especially appreciative of his gentle steady nature as our sellers agent complicated things oddly. He handled that sticky scenario kindly while protecting our interests at every moment. He's so kind in all his interactions it's easy to miss when he's being tough. But he is when needed. We were so proud to have ourselves represented through the sticky part so graciously and firmly. We got the correct house for us! The market at the time was like the wild west with huge overbidding, and a lot of competition. The Surf Lodge has a pretty cool modern look and the bed was extra comfy. Besides the walls being thin and being able to hear the neighbors, we were still able to get a good nights rest. The shower was beautifully decorated and well appointed but because there is no shower tray, water kept pooling in the bathroom. It got slippery at times and can be a hazard if you're not careful.

The spacious room contained cathedral ceilings, large windows with shades, a small futon sitting area, flat screen tv, lots of cabinets and tables, a large heater/air conditioner, and best of all, a jacuzzi/spa bathtub. Parking can be a bit tight but there is enough for guests checked in. The inn was quiet, comfortable and located within walking distance of a multitude of shops and restaurants along Broadway. The downside seems to be more of construction errors. The door had wide gaps on all sides, we had to push a blanket under the bottom due to about a half inch gap. The sides of the door gaps were large enough the light would come through when cars pulled up with their headlights on. Like previously listed, there is no closet space to hang clothes, but they do provide an iron and ironing board. The absolute worst part of our stay is how horribly thin the walls are. They might as well just have a sheet up between the different rooms. You can hear everything happening in the wall sharing rooms, and I mean EVERYTHING. You could even hear just footsteps, and this is a single story motel. Overall, I would stay here again in a pinch, but it won't be at the top of my list to visit again.

Kelly made up a warm welcoming chalk board for me wishing me Happy Birthday. Great room with incredible views of 2 great horses in the pasture directly across. Zollie and Rosa are beautiful and are very much cared for by the gentleman that owns many acres of land not attached to the cottage property. Zollie is the larger horse with a reddish mane and white hooves and Rosa is the darker chestnut with a black mane and tail. The room is amazing! Beautiful tiled floors with a Persian throw rug. The sleigh bed is incredibly comfortable with Egyptian Cotton sheets to die for. There is an amazing sun room attached with a back door and windows. I saw deer early in the morning on the property next door outside of the horse pasture. The front gardens of the property are well appointed with amazing sculptures, beautiful flowers that attract many hummingbirds and birds of all kinds. It is like a step back in time of wonderful powerful energy of nature and peace. A much needed therapy these days! I planned it so that I was there for the full moon in Virgo as well as my Virgo birthday! I have included that moon in my pictures here. It was gorgeous! There is a special black cat that is very friendly and since I am a major animal whisperer (everyone says it) this cat took to me instantly. The animals are not allowed in the cottages but he was polite and sat on my outside chair and slept and always visited me first thing in the morning. I encouraged it so if you are not in to cats or the one dog then just go on your way and they will leave you alone. There is a TV in the room but no cable, which is fine. There is a cute outdoor library of over 300 movies to choose from for your room. There is strong WiFi so I could watch Netflix on my computer if I wanted to. There is a mini fridge and wonderfully appointed glassware, bowls, a cutting board, and it works well for me since I went 5 minutes in to town and bought some salads, sandwiches, and great croissants at Bovine Bakery. It is expensive to eat every meal out so it is nice to be able to mix it up with both. All necessary stores, one gas station, Wells Fargo Bank, are all in town just minutes away by car. I will definitely return. Thank you Kelly for all that you did to make my birthday perfect!! :-)
