This is a great place to come for a date night. We walked in without a reservation on a Friday evening around 6:00 and were seated right away. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The outdoor patio is huge and overlooks the ocean. Both the indoor and outdoor seating areas provide a cool atmosphere with great views. We started with a bread basket. One of the loafs looked to have mold on it. The chef said it was sugar which we weren't too sure about. But our waiter replaced the loaf for one that looked better. This restaurant is definitely A1. It is beautiful and screams upscale. They can accommodate big parties or small. It was a group of nine of us and they didn't miss a beat. I'd been so excited to try this place, and sadly, it was just "meh". The aesthetic, ambience, and location are superb. I didn't take pics inside as we sat outside, but it's gorgeous inside. Outside are tiki hut vibes, but in a nice way. My friend and I got drinks - I believe some sort of sangria. They were strong but good. The problem was I asked for a 2nd one, and it took about 25 min to arrive (so with dessert). Since I was driving I didn't want to drink the whole thing then, so I had to pay for it but only drank a very small amount of it. I should have gotten what my friend got - fish sandwich and fries. But I wanted the grilled fish, which I got. When I asked the server if what sides came with it would be enough food to eat (as they didn't sound like much), she was very vague and wouldn't give me a straight answer. As you can see from my pic, it was not enough food. Especially for what I paid for it. My friend was upset and said I should have said something, but I didn't and luckily she shared her fries lol, which were good. The dessert was great and I enjoyed it. But it is very rare that I don't like a dessert, lol. Honestly it might have been a better experience if we had a better server. Ambiance: cool open air vibez, nice variety of spaces, booths. There is an event space upstairs for weddings and such that is super loud and bassey. Ruins the music downstairs. Loses a star for that. Wait was 45min for Friday walk-in, turned out to be 25 min with a ten min hold your table grace period. Food: Tried conch Manhattan chowder (red variety) and was the best I have ever had. Get it. Dinner is encrusted salmon... waiting for it to come out... darn tasty, thick hunk. Some overly toasted parts that were a little rough on my teeth. Could've had a few more mushrooms. Drink: Kept it to the Arnold Palmer. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. Dessert: Key Lime Pie. Tasty crust, nice flavor. Server was friendly and polite. Great place. We just had a great dinner at Oceanic.The restaurant is beautifully designed-lovely classy nautical theme with porthole mirrors and wonderful suspended fish sculptures that gave the impression you were in the ocean.So that was just what I noticed as we waited for our friends to arrive.We decided to sit outside and it was the perfect evening to sit and look at the beach through the palm trees under the covered outdoor area.Our waitress was Savannah and she was cheerful,professional and also very helpful as a friend needed to charge her phone and she made it happen!We ordered the smoked salmon and the poke bowl as appetizers-both delicious.For entrees we tried the swordfish special,the Thai noodle salad and the Caesar salad.All were excellent-good portions!Looking forward to trying the weekend brunch.Definitely worth a visit!! read more

After a couple hours at the beach, nice to be steps away from a good restaurant in Pompano Beach. Sat outside near the bar in a shady location with a nice sea breeze. Waitstaff was attentive and got our drink order in early. Guys had draft beers and a nice diverse selection. Women had sangrias and were just ok for both of them. We all had the grilled fish sandwich and everyone thought they were excellent. Nice amount of mahi- mahi with toppings were an excellent sandwich.salted sea fries were excellent addition. The $31 rack of ribs had an irresistible glaze and a delicious sauce to dip them into. Gorgeous upscale restaurant right off the famous Pompano pier. We were able to snag a table outside with amazing views of the ocean. Service was a bit slow, to be expected with how busy and packed the terrace was. Word to the wise--it gets windy out there! We started off with the beef carpaccio (not pictured... we devoured it instantly!) and split the Thai noodle salad and crab cakes. The drinks were delicious, very strong, but a bit sweet for my taste. I will say that while the quality of the food is amazing, this is a bit on the pricier side for what you get -- I believe the crab cakes were in the upper $30s-low $40s range. As evidenced by prior reviews, I really like Oceanic Restaurant and as such I was surprised by two recent disappointing dinners. Often food is secondary in view-centric restaurants but Oceanic was an exception with just about every item I ordered being very good to excellent. I am somewhat of a regular and go a few times a month and rarely deviate from my ordering routine so I can easily discern any changes in previously ordered items. I don't know if there is a change in the kitchen or supplier or a managerial decision but items that had been excellent were now inferior and this includes many menu items. The Smoked Salmon appetizer at Oceanic was excellent but that has changed and what was great is now below average. The Beef Short Ribs were also excellent but that too is different as well as other dishes. The staff is still great but the food has gone downhill. read more

I went to Oceanic a month ago for lunch and gave the server a 21% tip, only to find out after viewing my credit card statement that the server added an additional $3.00 tip to my check without my knowledge. I have contacted the merchant on 2 separate occasions and spoke to two different mangers by the name of Cole and Shawn and I have yet to hear from them regarding a $3.00 credit. When there is something to celebrate there is one place we go to for the celebratory dinner...Oceanic. From the wine list to the dessert menu and everything in between, Oceanic is the one place in Broward County where I don't even bother looking at the prices because, it doesn't matter what you choose, you're going to have a great meal and overall dining experience. Try any of the specialty cocktails offered to start with some appetizers. Lobster bisque and clam or conch chowder can get things started nicely. The wedge salad is always fresh. For a main dish I recommend the scallops, salmon or red snapper. Some of our friends don't appreciate seafood and have boasted that the steaks and ribs were also amazing. For dessert I recommend whatever they're featuring that day. The key lime pie and cheesecakes are all amazing. Service and cleanliness here are as good as they come. We came here before covid and now the staff is doing everything right to ensure that you enjoy yourselves safely. Conservatively...if you're going to go all out and enjoy all the proper courses with libations and dessert, plus tip, you're looking at a minimum of $100 per person. If you really want to enjoy the best and tip appropriately...I go closer to $125 per person. Which...when you compare it to other ocean front dining options out there...is an amazing value. It was very nice out so we had an outdoor table and it had somewhat of a view. My friend and I shared the Thai Noodle Salad which was tasty and filling.
