We arrived 10 minutes early and were greeted right away. No paperwork like other places, they took us straight in, which I appreciated. The space has a relaxing, Asian-inspired vibe and felt very welcoming. My friend got a Thai massage and I tried the Chinese Tuina, definitely intense but so worth it. I expected to be sore the next day, but I felt great. The staff were kind and really listened to our preferences. The head spa was amazing (even better than another place we've tried). They did a scalp scan before and after, which was really cool, definitely take a photo of your "before" to compare! Pricing was $83 per session (+$3 card fee), very reasonable for the quality. FYI.Booked an appointment for Classic Scalp Treatment on a Sunday afternoon @ 4:20 via their "Book Session" on the website. Did not receive any confirmation until 2 hours before the appointment. I was helped by Jennifer and then my treatment was done by Celina. They are extremely helpful and friendly. They began by giving me a robe /top to change into. They showed how my scalp looked on a screen. Then they took me to a booth to start the treatment. It began with small forehead massage and also included hand and upper back massage. It was amazing. I loved the sound of water throughout the treatment. Best massage around the head area. Then they blow dry the hair and show how the scalp looks after the treatment. Came here for the hour long head spa! We made an appointment on their website for 1 PM but they called the day before saying they were double booked, asking to push back the time. The experience started really quickly with imaging of the scalp with their high definition camera and a quick explanation to each of us on what they saw in the photos (oil, dandruff, inflammation, etc). Then, we were given shirts to change into. They have small lockers! The head spa was super nice and relaxing, including some arm and neck massage. They even took videos of us during the session for us to see. Afterwards, they took pictures of our scalp again and it was MUCH cleaner. When went to the front desk to pay, 2 customers were almost yelling at one of the employees about their bill. The staff were so nice and friendly! They don't really talk to you during the treatment, which is my preference so that I can relax. The head spa area is in a separate room with three beds/station within the store itself. They take a look at your scalp with a magnifying device before and after the treatment. There's also a translated pamphlet of what the look of your scalp means in terms of health. During the head wash, they also give you an arm and hand massage too. I don't know why the reviews are low. I was skeptical at first based on the reviews but I had such a pleasant experience. Tammi was amazing and gave me first class service. I called the day of for an appointment and the spa accommodated me for same day apt! I read on the reviews that services were rushed and that made me nervous that I wouldn't get a full scalp treatment but my whole experience was just a little over an hour. Tammi definitely took great care in washing my hair and the before and after pictures were amazing. I couldn't even Believe how clean my scalp looked afterwards. I didn't feel the pressure was too much. In some cases I felt I could've had a bit more pressure but overall it was good and relaxing. I like the smell of the Chinese herbs they used. My hair is so soft and this is day 2. Tammi has two high school aged daughters back in China. She's an immigrant trying to make money to support her family. I totally understand this. My own family also immigrated here to the USA and I'm sure it's hard for her to be separated from her daughters to make a living. I say this because I read reviews about people complaining about feeling pressured to tip or employees looking annoyed with low tips. If you have someone scrubbing gunk out of your hair for an hour, that deserves a reasonable tip for sure. Plus you're paying in cash avoiding tax and fees. So I think 20% tip at a minimum. Was hoping to like this place a little bit better than I'd hoped. I only have been to one other head spa before in California but ocean relax center did not even compare and I left disappointed. Saw this going around tik tok and was so excited to try! I wish I read the reviews first before going, but like many people... it felt a little rushed. I used their online system to secure my appointment time for originally 4:10pm and they had texted me later saying that the online system was messed up and they needed to change the time to 5:10- then again at 5:40. Upon walking in, they rushed me to a small room with 3 beds. They gave me clothes to change and did a "analysis" of my scalp. Not really an analysis but just took 3 pictures and that was it to show the before. I was surprised to see the place in a bright room, not really what I was expecting for a spa. The lady that I had was really nice! Scalp treatment was good and she gave a little massage but it was rushed. I came in at 5:30 and with the changing, hair drying process knocked off about 20 minutes- there was only 30 minutes of the actual scalp treatment, steaming included. For almost $100, I just expected more and atleast a little styling or analysis of the hair. It was a good experience but not worth it in my opinion. read more

My massage was everything but relaxing.. painful actually and the massage therapist was not gentle, she was actually rough. My scalp treatment went just ok. My scalp was in pain after it. The waterfall on my chest and head were the only positives of my whole experience. The whole scalp exam is a scam, my scalp looked the same or worst before the treatment. I rate this a 6.5 out of 10. They wash your hair, massage your head, neck, shoulders . I was very disappointed with my experience today. I had booked two head spa treatments for my mom and I . According to the videos promoting this establishment, each treatment was supposed to start with a scalp analysis. However, this didn't happen; they only gave a quick, unexplained look at our scalps after the treatment. The service was also supposed to last 60 minutes, but from start to finish--including dressing time and blow-drying--our entire session barely reached 45 minutes. Additionally they had given us previously used and wet blankets for the treatment. Their solution was to bring the blow dryer over and dry the blanket, instead of replacing it with a new one. When we went to pay, the staff assumed we'd pay separately without asking, so we calculated the tip based on the initial bill. After they presented a second bill for my mom's treatment, I explained that we had already tipped, thinking the two workers would be able to split it. The owner then explained that each service garnered individual tips and refused to split the original tip. Feeling bad, I gave an additional tip for the technician. However, the owner still seemed dissatisfied, saying each technician should receive an equal tip, which felt unreasonable since I had already tipped generously. I typically don't write reviews, but I felt the service and treatment we received fell short of expectations. This experience was disappointing and lacked the professionalism I was hoping for. read more

The process itself was absolutely phenomenal. I have curly hair and recently sprained my shoulder so it has been very hard to maintain it. The massage felt absolutely amazing and my scalp is so clean I think it's shining. The lady who took care of me was extremely professional and gentle. I barely felt her brushing my hair and the wash felt incredible and was very thorough. The reason for the 4 stars is the drying process. I don't think they really know how to dry curly hair. I came out with my hair in full on poof mode. When drying the hair she broke apart all the curls in order to dry it quicker. This works great on straight/wavy hair. Not so much on curly hair. That being said it didn't particularly ruin the experience or anything just made for funny pictures afterwards and means I'll have to get it wet again for the curls to reform (3A-B hair) read more

I had a stroke last year and have been seeing Jennifer for post-stroke massage eversince then. There is a lot of muscle tightness and overall body pain especially the shoulder and the back. I need help to increase my blood circulation, to detox my body of harmful toxins and to improve my muscle tone and strength. She has really been very helpful in my post-stroke recovery and I will be eternally grateful for her help and loving care in my journey back to good health. She is very experienced, gifted with healing hands, has great work ethic and passion to help her customers be successful in their wellness journey. I am truly blessed to meet her. Last week, as I started to go to the gym to strengthen my core and leg muscles, my affected back, shoulder and arm muscles are so strained. She noted I have lymphatic blockages and immediately gv me a detox massage and slowly and skillfully stretch my affected arm. Wow! After 1 session, there was significant improvement already. After the 2nd session, I feel confident to go back to the gym again and the affected arm can now fully stretch. The kind of relief I experienced is like the day you discovered your frozen shoulder pain is finally gone. So grateful and happy. Unfortunately, I do not recommend. I saw videos of them on tiktok and while it didn't seem super ideal, I thought it looked decent. I will mention, I'm plus size, and the space was barely enough to accommodate me. I'm don't need 2 airplane seats, but I'm not skinny. You're in a small room with 3 beds and only 1 curtain in between them. You have to walk closely past other customers getting their service, and it just feels awkward to make noise. They give you a tiny locker to put all of ur things in, and a small robe top to change in to. The scalp assessment is just close up pics of ur scalp with no explanation (except for at the end when my sweet tech pointed out pics of the issues with my scalp from a book, because she wasn't able to communicate with me). I have nothing against a language barrier, I get it. But it seemed like my particular tech had zero idea what she was doing. Like they took a new nail technician and said "hey guess what?! Ur doing scalp treatments now" They use a massage chair that is probably supposed to be comfortable, and may be for some. Unfortunately for me, it hurt my back so I bad I had to ask them to turn it off (through google translate) and I was sore for days. Let's get in to the scalp treatment itself- maybe I was delusional in what I was expecting given all the videos I've watched of this service on TikTok. But sadly nothing was relaxing, I felt like my hair was just being yanked in and pulled the entire time. It's been a week and my scalp is still painful and the whole thing feels like a bruise. I will say this-I came out with my scalp feeling clean and my hair felt super soft. But when they blow dried me afterwards they didn't use any product or hear protectant, even though there were bottles sitting directly in front of me. And my hair was still half wet when I left I'm a doormat so obviously I felt bad and still paid full price and tipped my tech more than 20%. But I cannot recommend this experience to anyone else if you're looking for a nice spa like experience. If you just want your scalp thoroughly cleaned and don't mind a little pain, this place is for you! read more

It has been a little while so my review is overdue; I had seen both Chen and Chloe in the past, both gave very high quality massages, Chen especially finds all the knots, with great technique. As others have mentioned, and in my own experience, many establishments that have a sign that simply say "massage" vary greatly in terms of their facilities and quality - I can confidently report that when i visited Ocean Relax Center, the establishment and facilities, from showers to room, are clean and proper. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I can understand that language barriers might make it difficult for those that are looking for nonstandard service, but the two times i visited, I called, scheduled time for a massage and everything was great and as expected. My last note, while the facility is clean, and purpose built, the staff is experienced, professional and courteous I would not describe the ambience as luxurious and lavish, like a Pro Club, Salish Lodge or Anthony Vince, where you are pampered from start to finish. I stop by the because I was picking up one of my friend who was getting a massage there. So since I was waiting for him, I have also decided to get a massage for myself too. The atmosphere of the place is very relaxing and they play some calm music which I enjoy. There is a coupon for first time customer which gives you like 10% off. One of lady whose name was Jennifer I believe. She is the one who give me the massage. She is very friendly and open up conversations. I told her my back was hurting for a while. Can I just say Jennifer is amazing! I know I could say it was hands down the best massage I've ever had, but that doesn't really capture how thorough her approach is. My complaint with most places is they don't really know how to apply deep tissue pressure. Not only does she but the way she was able to stretch my fingers , limbs , and joints. She has an amazing gift! She just earned a lifetime client. If you want an authentic deep tissue massage, Jennifer is the masseuse for you!
