I seen this place going viral on social media with a lot of good reviews. I decided to go for my birthday to check it out and was SO EXCITED especially as a mom who's never treated herself. Overall, it was "good" but mainly just for the aesthetic. They have showers and a steam room which weren't working when I went. They also have cute instagram worthy vanities to get ready. If you want to come here, I'd suggest coming really early so you can enjoy all the things like the pool, the food, showers etc, to make it really worth the price. In my opinion, the prenatal massage felt overpriced it started late and then finished early, and just felt rushed. I felt like by the time I was barely relaxing, it ended. The staff was really nice, but it felt insincere like if they were trying to make up for it The worst part was when I was rung up. They had included the tip without my knowledge until I hesitated to pay and she told me she added a 30% tip to each person who took care of me I felt really really pressured even though I was planning to tip regardless. When I asked to change it, things got weird and awkward This interaction really turned me off especially since their website says how tipping is absolutely optional. I did leave feeling a bit refreshed but It just felt SUPER rushed and I left feeling dissatisfied. I felt like for the price I paid, I could've gotten a lot better elsewhere. read more

I went here for a work event, and it was so lovely. Full disclosure I'd never been to a legit spa before, but it was lovely. Service was stellar. They provided everything you could need, and then some. Locker was big enough I could actually fit my stuff in there while I used the amenities available to you when you book a service. I believe my massage therapists name was Sky, and she was amazing, I let her know i was having some hip pain and she really went above and beyond trying to help fix my discomfort. I still got the full massage but she made a point in targeting that area. My massage was absolutely amazing. the hour flew by, it was so good. I would absolutely do that again. I visited Ocean Pearl Spa a couple of months ago with some friends for a spa day to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. None of the spa amenities were working, and the showers were cold. We notified the front desk, and while the attendant said someone would come check, 20 minutes later, no one had shown up. Frustrated, we left, only to find the front desk girl scrolling on Instagram. When we asked, she stumbled through an excuse, saying the person who could help had left. It would have been nice if she had just let us know earlier. We asked to speak with a manager, but were told they had already left and that we should email. I emailed twice and called three times--no response at all. The service was horrible, and I will never be returning. Definitely do not recommend. read more

A wonderful morning was spend here. I checked in at 9:30am , had a 50 minute massage by Skyler and she was excellent. The table was nice and warm as was the lotion. The spa has many amenities and looks newer. Elizabeth at check out was great as was everyone I came in contact with including valet which is free. The spa gives you access to a steam room and infused showers as well as a gym and outdoor pool and spa. I enjoyed snacks before my massage and a delicious lunch after. This was not my first time visiting this spa, which is located inside of the Sheraton Hotel in Carlsbad, just a block or so away from LegoLand. However, the previous time was actually several years ago....I am not certain how many years but certainly Pre-Covid19 (2020). Therefore, I was looking forward to re-visiting this spot which my memory had told me was a very nice spot where I was the recipient of an above average massage. It was only that 1 time prior because my wife and I had a different location nearby this one that served as our go-to for relaxing couples massages, etc. etc.....! It was just a "touch" better (pun intended). I must admit, however, that after today's experience from none other than the amazing Stephanie, at Ocean Pearl, I am a changed man! 100%!!! Fellas, this was hands down the best massage that I have ever experienced. I was trying to ascertain "...could this really be true??? Or was there some other variable making me think this way, because not having had a quality massage in nearly 4 years can make you "Oooohh! and Aaahhhhh!" just from, say.....my 5 year old daughter scratching my back with her "dolly". Suffice to say, despite the long fingernails on her dolly, this was, indeed, the best massage I have ever received! All of the thanks goes directly to my masseuse, Stephanie Last Name (???). Oh, and also to my wife, Tina for hooking me up with this gift card for Father's Day, 2023!!! Thank You, Boo! To wrap this review up, and in all seriousness, this was an incredible day with the climax, of course, being the epic 80 minute massage from Stephanie who seriously does not ever get tired. Not once! Booked a month in advance for Mother's Day. Very easy to get things scheduled over the phone. We got the Mother's Day special (30 minute facial and 30 minute massage) and added 2 gel French tip manicures. They are located inside the Westin Hotel in Carlsbad. We were allowed to access the facilities before and after our appointments. We were welcomed by the spa hostess-- She was very welcoming and gave us a quick walk through of the locker room. There's spacious vanity, and restroom area. The lockers and shower were a little cramped, but still plenty of space to change. She showed us how to turn on the steam room, and where the relaxation room was to wait for our treatments. We laid out by the pool and hot tub for an hour. Everything was really clean, there was not a lot of people, and the water was very blue. Our manicures were first. They only had one technician, so we had to stagger our nail appointments. My mom went first. I wandered in to the steam room to wait, it smelled great and felt super hot. They laid out cold wet hand towels by the door for a quick refresher. Our nail tech took longer than what was planned. Originally I was told my massage would have to be cancelled due to scheduling. My French tip ended up being a single color (mostly because my nails were wonky to begin with) but it saved some time from my appointment. My mom and me sat in the relaxation room to wait for our massage and facial. One of the lovely ladies notified us that I would be able to get a massage. The staff were really accommodating and apologetic. Both my mom and myself had a wonderful experience with the masseuse and esthetician. They were very knowledgeable and skilled. It was a very relaxation ambiance and experience. We LOVED coming here and can't wait to recommend it. The staff were all very sweet and friendly, the facilities themselves were clean and fresh. My friend and I came together on a Friday for a massage. We came to enjoy all aspects of the facility, not just a massage. The massages were great. However, the facility is not. Two of the three elliptical machines in the gym area are unevenly, balanced. The steam room wasn't working ( it had to be "warmed up" ) and one of the showers was intermittently cold. A cold shower. At a spa. We felt like we were in a 3rd world country. Finally, we went to order our food, and the receptionist said it would take 45 minutes to arrive. This could've been planned. The receptionist could've asked us upon arrival what we would like to eat and when, so we could've organized our time better. Our massages were at two, and our lunch order was put in at one, leaving 15 minutes for us to eat. Luckily, the food arrived early.Finally, my friend had ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. However, there was no chicken. We made our complaints known to the front office upon check out. The reaction was in apology, but no sort of compensation. Just a bill with included gratuity of 20%. Bottom Line: A relaxing, intimate spa at the Sheraton Hotel. By my calculations, I've walked by this spa at least 100 times! I'm glad I finally gave it a try because I received a wonderful, relaxing 80 minute massage. My massage therapist was warm, professional, attentive and endearing. Not only did I receive a great massage but I really enjoyed chatting with my therapist. I enjoyed getting to know her during my first 30 minutes of my massage and then I turned into butter, totally relaxed and was a million miles away. Lucky me, I was at Ocean Pearl on a Tuesday evening and I was the only one there! It was so peaceful. I loved the gray and white color scheme and found the accommodations to be luxurious. The spa is a medium size, which I like. ( I used to got to La Costa but that was so big it was kind of like a factory.). The steam room could use a little TLC, otherwise I thought the space was well maintained. I was tempted to mosey back to my hotel room full of oil but I couldn't resist the spa showed with built in aromatherapy. The only trouble I had with the spa was booking my appointment. I couldn't get the online site to work which is not phone/friendly. And I had a hard time getting through to the spa on the phone. I received a gift certificate for this spa and booked a 50-mins Tailor-Made massage. Most of their 50-mins massages are $140 and the 80-mins are $190. Tidbit: They are offering discounted prices on massages, facials and nail services every Thursday (2pm-7pm) until September 26, 2019 and your service will include glass of wine and appetizers (see photo). I arrived about an hour before my appointment to change into their robe and slippers, shower, wash my hair, use the steam room and relax in the lounge. I was excited to see that they use mango aromatherapy filter in their shower heads - what a treat! I enjoyed the smell of their body wash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion (all located in each private shower stall and there were a total of 4). The steam room was scented with eucalyptus and can comfortably fit about 4 people. I liked that they spaced out the appointments so it wasn't crowded in the locker room, steam room and the lounge area. For my massage, I chose the lavender oil and were specific with the areas that I preferred more pressure. My masseuse seemed knowledgeable and did a great job! She had short dark hair and wore glasses. They validate parking if you have a massage appointment. read more

I came for a pedicure appointment at 3 o clock. The pedicure started at 3:45. Actually, they soaked my feet for an extra 15 minutes - so my pedicure started at 4 -- they told me even though she wasn't ready, they figured they might as well just let me soak my feet for longer (I presume so I would feel like the pedicure started when it didn't). The pedicurist was actually extremely nice which is why I'd give one star, but I'm currently limping because she filed into my toes too deeply. After all of that - starting extremely late, I had to cancel my second appointment because I had plans between the appointments I missed - they "generously" gave me TEN PERCENT OFF. So I paid 81 dollars (including tip, because I always tip) to have a pedicure start a full hour late, missed plans, and now limping. Go somewhere else, I wish I did read more

Would not recommend this spa to anyone. My husband booked us massage treatments to try to fit in some relaxation since we are 37 weeks pregnant. The spa we usually go to is currently undergoing renovation, so we decided to try another local spot and were extremely disappointed. Here is a summary of our experience: - Upon arriving no one was at the front desk to greet us or check us in. We waited for 5-10 minutes before someone finally came out to check us in. All of the products featured in their lobby seemed cheap, and they did not feature any usual brand products you would see at a high end resort spa. - They do not offer a shared co-ed waiting space, so they recommended we meet in the uninviting lobby or by the pool if we wanted to spend time together. - My husband was the only one in the male locker room, and had a female employee walk in on him while getting changed. - The supervisor asked if I wanted a larger robe when showing me the locker area. Mind you, I'm fairly petite and have had no problem still fitting into most normal things despite my pregnancy. I said I would try what she recommended, and she brought out a 4XL robe that was laughable when I put it on. The other robe fit just fine with plenty of room. - When the massage therapist took my back for my treatment, it was a major red flag that she was encouraging me to lay down on my stomach on their tiny pregnancy pillow for the massage. I immediately told her I was not comfortable with that, and told her that my previous prenatal massage in my 2nd trimester had been on my side. She seemed surprised by this and had to makeshift the table for me to by able to lay on my side. - The room smelled like fresh paint. There was no aromatherapy of any kind, nor did the massage therapist incorporate any into the treatment. The sheets also smelled musty. - The sound system was not working, so it was an awkward silence. The room they had me in was in the back corner, and I felt like I was in an airplane lavatory every time I closed my eyes with the unusual hollow sound. - The massage therapist basically only focused on my shoulders for the entire 80 minutes. She hardly wanted to touch my arms or my legs, and whatever she was doing to my neck at the end was extremely uncomfortable. The oil she used also seemed ineffective and cheap. When I was on my back, no sort of eye mask or covering was placed on me, and there was a light on in the room which made the environment even less relaxing. My husband also mentioned he thought it was odd they didn't put anything on his eyes during his treatment when he was on his back. - We intended to use the pool after our treatment, but after our experience we could not get out of there fast enough and went to check out immediately. We expressed our poor experience, and the supervisor, Angie (who is expressed she is new), asked what we would be comfortable paying. My husband was nice enough to offer 50%, as I would have rather provided nothing. Angie provided a business card, which she had to write her information on because she was so new, and said to reach out after the baby comes. I absolutely will not be doing this as I never want to go back. To top it all off, today I woke up extremely sore from all the work she did to my shoulders. I do not feel relaxed and actually have more pain than when I went in. If you are considering a spa treatment, I would highly advise against visiting this 'resort spa' and would encourage you to explore some of the others in the Carlsbad area. read more

This was actually the first time I've really been to a resort spa, as I have always felt getting massages etc was a waste of money due to poor service in the past. However, I think I've been converted! My mother-in-law bought me a gift card for this spa and I booked the body exfoliation service. It was FANTASTIC! My skin is very soft and it is a chemical exfoliant rather than physical so the treatment feels like a massage but you are left with lovely soft skin. My therapist was Kerri. She was very well trained and knowledgable with a physiotherapy background and since I had cervical disc replacements in my neck 11m ago I felt very safe in her hands. It was very relaxing and I fell asleep as soon as I got home! I don't think I realised how important self-care is or how stressed out I was. I am converted now and really see the value in spa treatments for helping you step out of work mode and feel like a normal person again. I liked the music. It was actually relaxing rather than just soft music. Also the massage beds are heated which is nice and the waiting area for your appointment inside the spa is very comfortable. read more

I liked how you could just lounge at this spa in your cushy robes without some time limit. So it's very ideal if you come with your girls. They offered water, gourmet teas (loose tea in silky bags, hello!), and light snacks. 026 / 100 - 2018 YELP 100 CHALLENGE. Earlier this year, my best friend knew that I was going through some personal problems so she bought me a gift card to Ocean Pearl Spa! It was incredibly thoughtful and sweet of her. I didn't have a chance to use it until this past weekend, but I am so glad that I did. I made my appointment online - super easy. Ocean Pearl Spa is located within the Sheraton Resort & Spa in Carlsbad. They have a self-parking area, but valet IS complimentary if you are going to use the spa. Sweet! Getting to the resort was very straightforward and easy. The whole resort is incredibly beautiful and is definitely upscale. To be honest I kind of wish I was staying there instead of just dropping by for a massage haha. The valet was incredibly friendly, polite, and professional. I made sure to ask him for directions to the spa and he gave a very detailed description, which was really helpful. I definitely felt out of place here as everything felt ridiculously bougie. Not a bad thing, but I felt awkward just wearing jeans, boring shoes, and a hoodie while everyone else was dressed to the nines. Haha. The spa is located towards the back, near one of the pools, and was pretty easy to find with the valet's directions and the signs they posted along the way. The interior was also beautiful! The lobby was well lit and very clean. The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a very friendly and bubbly receptionist. She didn't care that I looked like trash in comparison to their usual clientele. LOL. She had me fill out a brief form before taking me on a quick tour through the back, where there were vanities, a shower, and a waiting area. She said I was allowed to use their spa/amenities for the rest of the day if I wanted to. Sweet! I quickly stored my stuff in one of their lockers, changed into a robe, and sat down in the lounge to wait for my massage therapist. In the lounge area they had water and coffee for you to drink or grab at your leisure. The water was really tasty (have cucumbers and something else I think) and the ambiance was definitely relaxing. I only had to wait 5 min or so before Sonserai (my therapist) came to get me. We introduced ourselves, she took me to one of their rooms, and we discussed what I was looking for, what kind of pressure I wanted, etc. She left the room to let me take off my robe and get under the covers before she came back to get started. The massage was AMAZING. Sonserai is very good at what she does and is incredibly talented! Throughout the entire massage she was professional, friendly, and thorough. She checked in with me at certain points to make sure the pressure was ok, if there were any other areas I wanted her to go over, etc. It was awesome. At some points of the massage she used aromatherapy and I definitely fell asleep. LMAO. I didn't realize how stiff I was until after my session. I really wish I could have had it gone even longer! After my session, she let me get dressed and waited for me outside with a cup of water. So sweet! I went back to the lockers, got dressed, and then waited at the front to pay. To celebrate my 30th Birthday in late July, my husband treated me to a morning of pampering. Thanks to Yelp, I scheduled a facial with Katie and a 80 massage with Astrid. I arrived a few minutes later than I would have liked but, I got lost. I was given a small tour, disrobed and sat in the waiting room waiting for my first session. The last time I have received a full body Swedish style massage was when I was in Massage Therapy school back in 2010. So, needless to say, I was way over due. Astrid created a very warm and comfortable work space. She is very open to hearing about pressure and checks in with you every so often. Her work was so good that I felt tingles during certain techniques, especially when working on the back. I will be seeing her again! After my massage, I checked my phone and grabbed some water in the waiting room. The water was delicious, it had blueberries and cucumbers but I was definitely tasting coconut and sure enough (thanks to reading the sign haha) it was coconut water. They also have hot water for tea, trail mix, and fruit. I sat down and waited for my Esthetician to come and was quickly introduced to Katie. Now, typically, I enjoy a quiet sessionwhere I can zone out but I was just in zen mode for 80min, so I was a little more talkative than normal. Katie is super chill and down to earth. We chatted for majority of the facial. Her pressure during the hand and arm massage is perfect. I tend to feel that most Esthetician's are afraid of applying pressure to the massage portion of the facial but Katie's was great. Her technique, pressure and energy is exactly what I look for. Spending hours here with my husband was just what we needed. Ocean Pearl Spa is located in Carlsbad in a beautiful area nestled away. Not only were the grounds beautiful but the spa was clean, tidy, and the staff were wonderful. My husband and I did the couples massage which I'd highly recommend for an anniversary. Champagne was complimentary and you have full access to the resort pool and jacuzzi. Absolutely love this spa and will be returning! read more

I called to purchase a day pass because my friends were getting treatments and also staying on the property. The person on the phone told me I would not have to pay any charges. When I got there, I was told I would have to pay $50. My friend complained and we told the person at the desk that I was told there would be no charge, but they refused to waive the fee even though my friends were staying onsite and I was told otherwise. The only thing I had access to for $50 was the pool (which I could have gone to for free with my friends) and a steam room. There are not any other amenities at the spa. It seems very empty and bare bones during COVID. Save your money and do not purchase a day pass from this spa. My friends said the actual treatments were okay. read more

The journey to wellness begins here.After the city hustle or a long day at Legoland why not treat yourself.I usually get a deep tissue or relaxation massage and I'm good to go.Great service and friendly staff keep me coming back.I recommend calling ahead of time due to the fact they book up pretty quick on weekends.Need more relaxation,they offer Yoga classes.They offer a variety of other services like facials,body wraps,manicures,pedicures,foot and scalp therapy.I haven't experienced all their services but I'm sure they're top notch.They are located next to the fitness center so after a grueling workout,you know where to go.I forgot to mention it is also near the pool and jacuzzi if you don't want to go back to your room right away.Revitalize,unwind and reconnect,that's the Ocean Pearl Spa way. read more

Beautiful spa! Amenities were great including Vitamin C showers and steam room. Had a couples massage here, which included glass of champagne and some chocolates for us to enjoy after. Very happy with our spa day for my birthday and highly recommend. :) read more
