I have been here regularly for about 6 months. Tammy gives a wonderful gel Manicure and is the only one who offers a 10 Minute neck/upper back rub for an additional $10. So worth it. I have never been real happy with the pedicures. Whatever technique they use does not soften my feet i have tried it all. Callous removal and the paraffin wax. I know what your thinking. I must have rough feet. But i don't. I take good care of them. It just seems their tools actually roughen my feet up. Let me know if anyone else has had this same experience. read more

We came in yesterday for a walk in and were told we'd have to wait, so we decided to make an appointment for the next day. I came in with my mom early to our appointment and they seat us, once it's time for our appointment I still have to wait 5-10 min. My mom still was waiting another 20 minutes. 30 minutes after our initial appointment time, someone finally comes. Prior to being seated, we noticed the seats dirty. So we asked to get them wiped down, the employee grabbed a dry napkin and started rubbing the seat of what looked like someone's nails. A dry napkin. Nothing to sanitize the seat. Just a small napkin and so we asked for some type of spray or even water. The employee looked annoyed. This business is unsanitary and does not honor the appointment time. A different person walked in after us and they were helped before we were. Same service. Does this business even wipe any of their chairs down? Do they have any type of cleaning supplies other than a napkin? read more

I came in for a pedicure and nail dip! I declined the nail dip when they told me they only use one coat and they use gel and the UV light over the dip! I wish I had been told they don't do it the way the instructions tell you to use it! I am never paying $40 dollars for one layer of dip! I get the dip to avoid UV lighting to dry my nails! Since Tom had already started my nails I let him do a manicure however, he never finished the manicure and told me to tell the place I was going to next to buff them and finish them! I have the best nail guy in this place! I have been to see Tim a few times now and my gels and fills last longer than 3-4 weeks. I didn't have a good experience after coronavirus. When I came in after coronavirus re-opening, there was no one in front desk. I sit down on a chair and wait for 10 min til someone come back to the front desk. All chairs was taken by other customers who was waiting. There were no social distance between clients, no precautions. I saw my manicurist when his previous client left, he didn't wash his hands or use any precautions and worked without gloves to serve me. When I ask if he washed your hands , he simply said he did, but he never leave his station and let me sit on the chair. I ask him to use disinfection on a table, but he only flipped a towel over, probably after previous client and start doing my manicure. He didn't sterilized any metal instruments which he used on me, but he got a new nail file. He did a good job on my manicure, but I was worried and scared after all. . read more

Today, following the leg/calf massage portion of the pedicure, I was told that "I need to exercise because I have fat hanging from my calves." This was extremely embarrassing! Then the person delivering my treatment proceeded to show me her muscles and said she exercises 3 times per week. I informed her that I exercise at least 5x per week, not that I should have to justify my body to anyone. If I were seeking fitness counseling, I would contact a professional. I recently went with my daughter and this by far is the worst of all the nail salons in this area that we have been to. The person who greeted us was rude, had a scowl on her face and was very unwelcoming, after that they left my little girl waiting forever to be attended to, and never fixed her DVD player or turned on her massage chair, and the whole point of me taking her that day was to cheer her up after a rough day. I have been coming to Ocean Nails Spa for years because my mum will only ever get her feet done by Ken. My mum and I keep up with Ken and what is going on in his life and he always asked us about ours, it is a friendship we have kept up for many many years. I love that a basic pedicure includes a sea salt scrub and a hot stone massage. I feel so pampered every time I come here. The technicians are very sweet and friendly. I have always had really lovely experiences chatting with them. In the past, I have asked for Ly, who is always busy she has almost every day booked up with cliental, Kim or Ann. But the most recent time I came here all of them were busy or had the day off so I got Umi, who was an absolute doll. She was so sweet and she did a really good job of my toes. My nail lady's fingernails were used to "clean" nail polish residue, while applying polish. Just gross! I came here because the price was $6 less than my usual salon. NOT worth it. I had a bit of a nail emergency and I decided I'd try out Ocean Nails because it's conveniently located near my house. They also happen to do chrome nails which seems very hard to come by in the area. I had gotten my nails done not even a week before at another salon and my first time trying out chrome nails was unfortunately not the greatest experience as both of my chrome accent nails had began chipping. I called the morning of, and they were able to give me an appointment right around the time I was going to be in the area. I walked into my 12:00PM appointment 15 minutes early at 11:45 but they were extremely accommodating and able to seat me at the nail bar right away. Jason really took his time to fix my 2 chipped nails- and although I had to pay $4 per nail it was extremely worth it considering salons that offer chrome nails seem to be impossible to find, and I was in desperate need of the fix! I walked out of my 12 noon appointment at 12:07-awesome!! The negative reviews for this location make me sad because I have so much praise for their customer service and clean manicure work! I have been once before. That time, they deserved 4 a star-rating. Upon returning, they have been dropped to only one. They didn't seem to happy that I was only interested in the basic pedicure (I had my baby with me and knew I was on a timeclock!). I think I was being punished! That was not even worth the $22 for the pedicure! He (don't know his name) was very rough with me. So rough, in fact, this morning I woke up and found that area that hurt to be bleeding. Thanks, buddy! Another three toes are uneven. My mom's polish job left something to be desired. Polish is missing from the edges. The hot stone was put on her leg (for the "massage") and left it there until she said that it was burning. In a city with so many options, please continue on. I have been in this place before and did not have a good experience at all! A few week a go I did my mani, pedi and wax, the lady that did my wax spilled wax on my hair and had to rub baby oil to take the wax out!! I figure it was an accident and wasn't happy but didn't complain at all. They demand u to get extra things when you don't need them, last night I had the worst experience ever I came with my best friend and my daughter got mani, pedi and eyebrow wax, I was the last customer they were ready to close, when I paid I forgot my cel phone by the cashier and they close the spa right away when I left, this morning I called and they said my phone wasn't there, I even came in person and they told me it wasn't there, who ever was there and close the spa a min after I left were only the people that work there!!!! HORRIBLE. OH SO HORRIBLE. You walk in to this HUGE nail salon.. I was so excited because usually most salons are tiny! Me and my best friend went for pedi's. We check in for our appointment around 5:55 for our 6:00pm Pedicure.. Then standing around.. standing around.. finally the girl seats us. We probably sit there for a good 10 minutes before anyone comes and fills up the tub to put our feet in. Oh wait.. I didnt mention they put a PLASTIC TRASH BAG in the tub.. Hate when salons do that.. Anyways.. Probably around 6:30 someone sits down and starts my best friends Pedicure.. Let me remind you our appointment was for 6pm! 6:45 rolls around and I had to take my feet out of the water because they were sitting there too long waiting around.. My pedicure did not start until 6:50... 50 mins late for appointments? Whats the point of having appointments then? There is not enough staff for how large this facility is... ALSO.. I got my Pedicure last Wednesday evening.. Today (a week later) my toe polish is already chipping and falling off on most of my toes.. What a waste of money. I will never go back. read more

Went as a walk-in yesterday and was told by the receptionist that there would be a 30 minute wait. We decided to take a chance and wait - 55 minutes later after going and asking how much longer I was asked to sit on one of their chairs. Waited on the seat for another 5 min. The receptionist came and put a plastic cover and then poured water and let this run for another 7-8 minutes. By the time the lady that was going to do my Pedi came by, the water was almost cold. In the middle of my pedicure I was asked if I would PAY since it was getting late! I was the last customer in and I was being told to make the payment when none of the other customers had made a payment(the receptionists words) The manicure guy came by - interrogated me about my ethnicity/accent/marriage/kids all of which i politely answered as well as I could since he wasn't able to understand me. All this while dealing extremely harshly with my nails - I yelped twice which he was cutting the cuticles. I left with badly done hands, chipping nail polish. The receptionist never once said the word welcome when I said Thanks a couple of times. A little cordial behavior towards clientele would be a nice touch. Just recently moved to the SCV area and was told that the salon was professional and friendly by another mom from my sons school. I will tell you it was just the opposite of that. The staff (including the receptionist) were very rude and as I was leaving the receptionist was bad mouthing one of the other clients. I WILL NEVER be back. I would give this review 1 star, but the receptionist working was awesome, so it gets 2. I had a mani pedi and both were not good quality for the price paid. Both technicians were VERY rough with my toes and fingers ( my big toe is still bleeding). I left with rough, unfinished ends on my fingernails and polish on the skin around them because I didn't want to get another dirty look from the technician after asking her to fix it the first time. Would not recommend- I did not have a good experience here and their products are poor quality- I got a pedicure and the my cut the slide of my nail in too far and then poured alcohol on it so it wouldn't bleed- this still is hurting me over a week later and my toe is very red. I got a gel french tip manicure done for my wedding here and I ended up with dirty grungy nails on my wedding day! Gels usually last about a month but these lasted less than 24 hours. I got the manicure done the evening before I flew overseas for our wedding. They looked great coming out of the salon but the next morning 3 nails had already chipped, bad! All I did was take a shower in the morning and for some reason, this made the gel paint chip. I went in to get the nails fixed right before my flight, which they were more than happy to fix. They "fixed" the nails in a hurry, which was very visible but I had no choice but to leave them as they were so i didn't miss my flight. 3 days after the manicure and 4 days before my wedding, my nails looked completely dirty and disgusting! Great new nail shop in Stevenson Ranch. I love the decor & the set-up of the salon. They are very clean & organized. The prices are great for the location & for what they do. They seem to do a little more extra than other salons (using hot stones for a regular pedicure). They also have swatches of all their nail colors at the front counter so you can pick your color & tell the receptionist. I think this is great, but I didn't love the color selection. I had brought my own polish & ended up using that one. Not sure how busy it gets on the weekends, but I came in on a weekday afternoon & didn't have to wait at all. read more

This place is somewhat hidden away. They have a cute little section with spa chairs just for kids. If you go in the afternoon the wait is short if you go in as a walk in. I LOVE their pedicures and they do a great job for the price. I've never gotten a manicure there (I don't ever get my fingernails done) Everything always looks clean and I recommend. I have never written a review but after visiting five different nail shops in different areas of LA, I am tired of spending my money on poor quality. Went to get dipping powder (SNS) on my natural nails and less than six hours, they are coming off. First, they only had 10 colors to choose from. One red flag. In the middle of getting my nails done, the nail technician switched base coats as if she was unsure about what she was doing. Another red flag. While she was working on my nails, one nail popped off. Third red flag. When she finished, my nails looked awful. She left the powder residue on my nails and did not offer to clean them. When I asked for lotion, she gave me cuticle oil to wash my hands instead. I knew I should have left after the first red flag but I was trying to give this place a fair opportunity. I would not recommend getting dipping powder from this location. read more

I love this place! They have a huge selection of gel polish colors and OPI polish colors. The receptionists are always on top of answering the phones and keeping appointments straight. The staff is really talented. I love Michelle, she's the best at nail art. If you want anything fun painted on your nails just bring her a picture and she can do it.
