Update: the nails lasted 3.5 weeks with no chips (a couple of cracks in the thumb, but those didn't appear until the 2.5/3ish week mark and I am NOT gentle on my nails so I thought it was phenomenal. I went back and got the autumnal nails of my dreams (bit of an upcharge for using all the colors but worth it imo) and found out that it's Tony who does the really good dip powder nails. I came here on a weekend as a walk-in for dip powder nails. I came around 10am and was glad they were open early on a weekend (9:30 am). Dip was $45 and I would recommend bringing cash. They only take cash tip and while they have an ATM, it's easiest to bring cash ahead of time. My nail tech spent a good amount of time making sure that the dip looked like they were part of my natural nails, since that was what I had mentioned at the beginning. She was also attentive to the shape of nails that I wanted and overall did a really nice job! I would say this salon was low-key no frills (meaning there was no hot towel to warm your hands, nor hand massage with lotion), but no matter! I did not come here for a spa-like experience. My mani was speedy but high quality. I was in-and-out in a snap, which I appreciated and actually preferred, since I was visiting from out of town and was meeting up with friends right after. Generally good, but depends on your nail tech. I had Nancy (at least that's what her tools were labeled) most recently for a mani-pedi and was really disappointed. I don't know whether it was faulty polish or poor technique, but the polish is really uneven - the polish didn't fully reach the edges of my fingernails and the top coat didn't cover all the polish. It just looked a bit messy, and started chipping within a few days. The leg scrub and massage during the pedi was just 30 seconds of the most gentle pat-down possible. I have been going to Ocean Nails for several months now and would highly recommend it for their Dip Powder Manicure services! I always request to have Tony, and he never disappoints! He always shapes my nails beautifully and usually completes the removal/application process within an hour. He isn't super talkative, which I really appreciate. I work a customer service job and make small talk all day, so it's great having someone just get to business and still make me feel comfortable! The other nail techs are very friendly and welcoming as well, and always pop over to the desk to comment on the color or shape of the nails. The cost is very reasonable as well. $45 prior to tip, and the manicure usually lasts 3-4 weeks on average before they're grown out and need to be redone. read more

I normally would absolutely never leave a negative review. However I decided to in this instance in order to save somebody else from experiencing the horror I was put through yesterday. When I arrived I was the only one in the salon. I asked for dips for my hands and regular polish for my toes. I specifically asked if the dips had matching regular polish for my toes and was told yes. I selected what I thought to be a pale yellow color of the dips. The man went to work on my nails and a different woman who I assume is the owner brings over a couple different regular polish colors to match the dip color. The first choice was not similar but the second choice looked close enough that I didn't think anyone would be able to notice. When the man finished my nails I thought it was odd that the color I received was not what it looked like on the sample stick. The dip powder appeared uneven but ultimately I thought well it's not THAT bad right? I move over for my pedicure which was done by a different nail tech. He seemed to do a nice job but after the polish dried I noticed it again looked absolutely nothing like the color I thought I picked. At this point I am very frustrated but the salon was now busy and I didn't really have the time to wait for them to fix it because I was leaving for my honeymoon the next day and had little time to spare. Unfortunately once I made it home and stepped into my dark apartment I was absolutely horrified to discover the dip color on my nails glowed in the dark. I immediately drove back to the salon extremely upset. Unfortunately the woman who I assume is the owner was extremely rude and blamed the poor service and awful colors on me and told me if I wanted it redone I would have to pay for it. Not wanting to give them another dime I said just take it off because I refused to go on my honeymoon with glow in the dark nails. I never received any apology or any form of explanation for why the color was not marked as being glow in the dark. She blamed my fingers for being the reason the colors looked different and tried to show me a different dip powder container that was bright highlighter yellow and was absolutely not the container used on my nails. She eventually stated she would put new regular polish on for no additional charge. Had I known the absolutely horrible condition she would leave my hands I absolutely would not have accepted. Please see below photos of the colors they claimed match and the after of the condition she left my hands in. A five year old could have done a better job. Do not go to this salon unless you would like to have terrible nails, rough and rude service, and a complete lack of accountability for poor service. And unless you are looking for glow in the dark, do not select number 219 in the dip powder since instead of marking it as glow in the dark as I recommended, she simply threw it back with all the other colors. I love going to Ocean Nails! The technicians always do a great job, and a shellac mani will often last for several weeks (I only have to take it off when my nails physically get too long). I recently came in a couple of weeks ago for the first time since the pandemic and was pleasantly surprised with all of the plexiglass barriers and covid precautions. All of the technicians and patrons were wearing masks inside and people were spaced out to help maintain social distancing. Since, we were celebrating and getting pampered before my friend's wedding, we had called ahead to ask if it would be alright if we brought some bubbly. The staff were so accommodating--they even took a bunch of pictures for us! Love the people here! Would highly recommend! read more

I didn't look bad when I first walked in until I sat down in the pedicure chair and looked over and saw they were about to use tools that were obviously not sanitized. The nail clipper was rusty and the scrubber was literally worn down so thin you could tell they used it on multiple people I was disgusted. read more

The lady tried to do French nails and did them about 4 times before giving up and telling me she's done and I asked if she could add a second coat. She yelled no and said I'm done. Then she said she couldn't do and that the other man would do it. I wasted hours and then he would not do a French tip he said he would only do plain white with regular. My friend and I set appointments for 2:30. We both wanted a gel pedicure. I wanted a dip manicure and my friend needed a fill-in. Shortly after arriving, they seated us in the pedicure chairs. My friend's pedicure was fine as was mine until it became time for scrubbing. The woman who was doing my pedicure decided to start scrubbing my feet while they were DRY. Who does that?! During the middle of our pedicures it began raining. Because of the rain, the power went out just before our pedicures were finished. Once the pedicures were done, my friend and I asked if they would be able to even do our nails still. They assured us they would. They sat us both in the chairs to get our nails done. The lady who had done my pedicure can only do gel or regular manicures so I had to wait for someone else to be finished before the two ladies who can do acrylic nails and dip powder nails were available. After waiting until about 4:10 (25 minutes after the pedicure was done) one of the ladies who was doing someone's pedicure comes over to me to start prepping my nails. As she was clipping my cuticles she ended up clipping too much and I begin bleeding. Instead of putting something on it to help stop the bleeding, she just takes her finger and applies pressure. Meanwhile, my friend has been sitting and waiting. That day was my birthday so my friend and I were beginning to worry about our time since we had dinner reservations at 5:30. When I made my appointment I thought that giving them 2.5 hours (2:30-5) would be enough time....apparently not. When it was 4:20 I asked again if they would still be able to do our nails because we had to leave by 5pm. They assured us that both my friend and I would be done by 5. Because the power is still out, they're using the flashlights on their phones to continue working. At this point my friend is really pissed because she's been sitting and waiting for 45 mins. She begins talking to me about how she is just gonna go somewhere else the next day to get her nails done instead but the place she normal goes to doesn't have chrome and she was looking forward to getting chrome on her nails. The person next to her hears her say that she wanted chrome nails so she recommended a place in the mall saying they they had chrome and they were really good. Then, the lady who had just begun my nails snaps at her and says, "If they're so good why are you here?!" After some other people in the salon finished the employees realized that the card machine wasn't going to work so everyone in the salon had to pay in cash. Multiple customers didn't have cash so they tried to go to the ATMs nearby but they weren't working either. Some customers just paid with the amount of cash they had and others agreed to come back the next day and pay. Now it's only me and my friend left in the shop. It's about 4:50pm and the lady who previous snapped at the other customer is finishing my nails. My friend decided not to get anything else done because it was too close to the time we needed to leave. Once she finished my nails right at 5, it was time for payment. Luckily I had taken out cash right before I went to the salon, but my friend didn't take out cash. I had enough cash for me, but not enough to cover my friend too. When my friend told them she didn't have cash they didn't try to make a deal with her like they did the other customers. One of the ladies said, "okay the I'll go with you to the ATM!" Obviously that wasn't going to work if the power was out at all the ATMs nearby like the two customers previously told us. At this point it's 5:05 and I'm annoyed. I asked if anyone had venmo, PayPal, cash app, etc. One of the employees said she had Apple Pay. My friend paid with Apple Pay but it was a much longer and more annoying process than it had to be. Not only were the employees rude, unprofessional, and biased (or dare I say racist), but they are MONEY HUNGRY. Their prices are outrageous. There is NO WAY that a gel pedicure should cost $45. I know I'll never be going back there again and you shouldn't either. read more

The pedicures were great, though they did seem like they had overbooked. My main complaint is that there was NO sign posted or anything said that their credit card machine was "down". I don't carry $100+ tip around with me in cash (there were 3 of us)! Conveniently for them, there is an ATM right there in their waiting area....can't wait to see the charge from my bank on that. I understand the tips only in cash, though I don't agree with it. But that's their business decision. They turned out extremely top sided and I asked him to fix it and he tried to but didn't. He got paint all over my toes as well. The person that took it off seemed irritated that I didn't want her to use the drill to remove the shellac. When I say that is all she did, the bare minimum. Took off the shellac and told me to wash my hands. At the end I was told it was cash only, so had to use their atm with fees. I should read the reviews before I walked in this store. I just needed to remove my dips and give my nails a break. I was shopping at the plaza, and found this nail salon. Like other reviews said the nail tools over there were very dirty, and obviously never sanitized. The most horrible thing was that the lady did not soaked my nails, not even with water. She just filed my nails first, then literally scraped off all of my dips. First, she said she would charge me $15. After I questioned her why she did not soak my nails in acetone, she said she would only charge me $10. I do not want to damage my nails for just saving $5. I told her she could damage my nails. She asked me did I felt hurt. No, I did not feel pain, that did not mean my nails were not damaged. It is the worst nail salon that I have ever been to! read more

I am a huge fan of this salon. I have lived right around the corner for years but never stopped in until a few months ago when I desperately needed a fill and the salon I usually go to was closed. I am now a very happy repeat customer. My nails always look amazing and I have yet to have a break or chip. Not to mention the prices compared to my last salon are much more reasonable. Mail tech was very detail oriented which I appreciate however I requested he soak my old acrylic set off and he attempted to pry them off multiple times and I had to ask for him to soak them off 3 times before he listened. He did not clean under my nails, and left dirt under one of my nails, my nail is clear so I can now see it under my manicure. My foot bath was very hot and I told him multiple times. He filed the skin on my pinky nail so much that I have a cut now. The card system does not allow you to ad a tip if they have already run the card. Not a great experience. read more

Although my review does not invalidate the awful experiences previous reviewers had, I am surprised by the number of bad reviews Ocean Nails has. My main negative is that, at least their dip nail manicure which is the only service I ever get from any nail salon, does take a while. On the busiest day and time I've ever gone, it has taken about two hours from start to finish, including wait time. However, I can attest that the reason they, or at least Taylor who is the only one who has ever done my dip nails there, take long is because they do the job in dip nails in A2. My dip nails can last at least a month with chipping or breaking and no touch-ups needed in between. The price for dip nails is a bit more expensive than other nail salons, but again, you get the high-quality service for the price you pay. Another negative is that I wish they more of a color selection for dip nails. Another big negative is that while you can pay by card, for some reason, you can't include tip in your card payment and you must pay your tip in cash. However, they've always been courteous to those that didn't know about the rule ahead of time and didn't bring cash to tip. They say you can just bring cash next time and joke about charging interest haha! When I went back to give them their cash tip, they actually forgot that I was going to! However, this consistently remains the nail salon I go back to after trying various nail salons with dip nail service across A2. I really want to find one positive thing to say about Ocean Nails but sadly, I cannot. I wasn't impressed by the cleanliness, the service, or the barking dog they let roam around the salon (and I *love* dogs). Never in my life have I been inside a nail salon for over 2 hours. I showed up without an appointment right when the shop opened so it's to be expected that there would be a wait due to the staff getting to those with scheduled appointments before a walk-in (which I was fine with). I waited 30 minutes in a chair, then 30 minutes in a pedicure chair with my feet soaking. After an hour, a woman began my pedicure. | 60 Minutes Elapsed Thus Far | I kid you not, I was sitting in the chair for another hour | 2 Hours Elapsed Thus Far | and she still had not put polish on my toes. I had a pedicure the week previous at a different location so I know my cuticles were not to blame. The woman moved at a pace slower than molasses and had the weakest hands. Thus, her actions were annoying more than enjoyable. I was crawling out of my skin by hour number two that I ended up leaving without polish on my toes, and opted out of a manicure because I did not have anymore time to give. 1 star is far too high for this place. This place is horrible. They yelled at us because they messed up my nails over and over again. They said that we should have known the lady could not do french tips. Then they refused to fix it and made a huge scene while shouting obscenities at us. Dropped in tonight after work for an eyebrow wax and a manicure. There wasn't anyone there so they sat me for my wax right away! The wax itself was alright, nothing really blew me away but the results were great! It didn't hurt any more than a wax usually does, and now my eyebrows are looking super fresh and clean! One thing that did kind of irk me was that they didn't have a separate private room for waxing - it was just an average looking chair in the corner. No curtain or anything! My initial thought was that it could be really awkward/embarrassing getting your eyebrows and/or lip done if there are other customers in the salon, but no one else was there so for me it was fine, but still caught me off guard. It only took about 10 minutes to do my brows and lip which was great! It didn't seem like she was rushing, it just didn't take very long. I had some extra time so I decided to get my nails done as well. The next woman who did my nails was great! She did a fabulous job and really took her time. No bubbles, chips, or dents in my shellac! I think her name was Tammy? All in all, I'll definitely be coming back. Not sure if I'll get another wax, but absolutely to get another manicure! Came here for a mani/pedi and the results couldn't have been any better. Lindsey gave me the chamomile pedicure. She took her time and gave me the full deluxe treatment. Taylor did my shellac manicure; the shape, length, and polish was perfect. I came out feeling refreshed and relaxed. Also got my eyebrows waxed by Lindsey. She's probably one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommend these two. Lindsey and Taylor are also the new owners of Ocean Nails. They're slowly fixing up the shop with new products. The older man rushes and the work is sloppy as a result. For example, even though my polish was patchy and see-through, he refused to recoat it until I refused to pay. Then the the price was $25 over what I'd been initially quoted when I came in a few weeks ago. I think the service totally depends on who you sit with, and if you sit with the older man, I recommend coming prepared to fight for what you want, as I witnessed him rushing with other customers and not listening to them, too. read more
