Red snapper (pun not intended)
Will D.

Stopped in for dinner with the family and had a great time. The interior is really fun - dark wood adorned with colored lights. It's a cool spot to check out. Our server Christine was phenomenal - honestly one of the best server's I've had at any restaurant. She was super kind and friendly and great with our 4 year old. We ordered some iced teas and lemonades to start (all good) and then entrees, which come with two sides each. I got the red snapper special, which was served over angel hair pasta with crab meat on top. It was excellent! Very flavorful - the crab was almost sweet, and the fish was just so good. As sides I got a Caesar salad, which was solid, and creamed spinach, also tasty. We ended up being too full for dessert, but had such a great time. Definitely have to check it out if you're in the area!

I have come here for 48 years! Same standards today as 1978! Historical building on the beach with ocean views! Bar service and large parties too. Today service with Daphne! Parking ample set aside for Ocean Grille! Food excellent. Mahi and grouper sandwiches special, pecan rice and had Mediterranean seafood chowder

This is an updated review. I have been going to the Ocean Grill for many many years. I go with a group every Christmas to see the beautiful decorations. People should go at least once just for that! This year, I would say the food was absolutely outstanding. I had the stuffed shrimp, baked potato, and asparagus with hollandaise sauce. Everything was delicious. The food was very hot and very well seasoned. The crab made stuffing actually had quite a bit of crab meat in it, and the amount of food was plenty full. The dessert was a praline berry basket, filled with raspberry sorbet, berries, and vanilla ice cream. I'm usually not want to order dessert, but when Albert the waiter brought over the dessert tray, I had to try it. Speaking of the waiter... He was fabulous. He was attentive without being annoying. And he was very efficient. Kudos to Albert. He had to deal with 12 women with separate checks, and he did it effortlessly and with a smile! I recommend The Ocean Grill highly. It just keeps getting better.

Went here with a big group. Accommodated us perfectly. Took our reservation ahead of time and seated us very quickly when we arrived. The ambiance is nautical and classic. Dim lighting for a nice evening meal and an incredible view of the water. Great seafood selection with a beautiful presentation. Enjoyed the cocktails and appetizers, including anything from salad to crab and shrimp to clam chowder. Everything here is done well. 5 out of 5 recommend.

We go to Ocean Grill every time we visit Vero Beach. This is a gorgeous restaurant RIGHT on the ocean. I love to order stone crab when it's in season! Year round, the menu has tons of great options - we particularly love the Jumbo Lump Crab Stuffed Mushroom Caps, Homemade Onion Rings, and Fresh Fish Dinner. The service is always excellent! This is a true Vero Beach gem.

Ocean Grill on Weds at 6:00pm - it's pretty packed, we're waiting to be seated.

We had a nice dinner at Ocean Grill like always. We only waited 10-15 mins. I had the surf & turf, rice and salad. The sirloin was excellent. Calamari appetizer. Lava cake for my Happy Birthday. My sister bought shirts for her grandkids at their gift store. The waitress was excellent, very caring and attentive. Nice night!

Most important: The grapefruit martini was the best cocktail I have ever had in all of North America, South America and Europe. (Now encouraged to travel all over Africa and Asia just to see if it is best in the world.) Order the coconut macadamia cheese cake: Have angels danced on your tongue? They did on mine. The portobello sandwich is an excellent alternative to any burger. Perfectly cooked. Waitstaff: excellent. View: perfect.

Old charming rustic looking interior. Great soups - try the A+ French Onion or clam chowder. Turkey on rye very good but a little less turkey than normal. Onion rings - generous portion. A tad overdone but still good. Service is always excellent. Thanks Kief!Early arrival gets you a window table with a close-up ocean view!

The atmosphere was a unique blend of iron, wood and glass elements. The culinary experience was tasty; the filet was excellent, and the blue cheese butter served with the dinner rolls was a a must try.

The bread and crackers were delicious! The crackers are addictive (in a good way). And both are even better with butter.

Why is the web site not working on Yelp?

Apologies, we recently updated our website so the link no longer worked. I updated the link today. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

Is "Ocean Grill" @ 1050 Sexton Plaza? Yelp gives a different address than this one - from the restaurant on their website. Thanks.

That is actually right: two correct but different addresses. Also please note they don't take reservations for less than 5 people.

*INITIAL REVIEW*…read more Today, my family and I celebrated Mother's Day given the fact one of my sisters and I would be too busy to celebrate it on the actual day. Ergo, we made a trip down to Vero Beach and had fun at both McKee Botanical Gardens and the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA), both which got stellar reviews by me in the past. In between both locales, we were hungry and needed to eat someplace local. I had some suggestions, but my mom was in the mood for seafood. As a suggestion from reviews, The Crab Stop of Vero Beach was ultimately decided upon. I have to say, I am happy this restaurant was suggested because it is very good. Even though an address is provided, The Crab Spot of Vero Beach (which I will shorthand simply to Crab Spot for the remainder of this review) is located on the southside of the entryway into Royal Palm Place, one of the many extensions leading out into the water near US-1, but this one is known for the Royal Palm Park at the end. Initial display, decor, and ambiance has the stereotypical local dive bar look with elements showcasing they specialize in seafood, and the little bits of rustic flaws adds a bit of character for what they are. I would not expect such a look for a high-end restaurant, but this works for a local place on the river. The chairs squeeked, the table wobbled a bit in which the waitress fixed with some coasters, and the plates were chipped. No problem at all. There was even outdoor seating in the back bar-style which gives you a nice view of the canal that leads to the river. It was high sun, so we opted for the air conditioning. Now we move on to the food. I have to say that the majority of our food was really good, and when you adjusted to what you are eating, it was top-notch. Key word, however, is the "majority." The good: the hush puppies basket as you get 10 hush puppies that are lightly-seasoned with 1000 island sauce. If you eat one, it is probable you might think it is light on seasoning. However, they are small and finishing all 10 won't be a problem. The flavor builds with each hush puppy, which was smartly done compared to what most seafood places do: give you like two to five hush puppies of large size and high flavoring. The wings, however, used a hot sauce that was mostly vinegar. This ruined the wings for me, and if my stepdad ordered 20, he'd be eating the majority of them. Everything else was top-notch and delicious. Altogether, my family ordered the Fish and Chips, Mahi Sandwich, Fried Catfish Sandwich, Sea Scallop Snack Pack, and the Crab Cake Dinner. Details for each dish in the pictures. On a sidenote, the restroom was okay as in clean and stocked, but not the best-looking restroom I seen. Maybe the "character" could have not be extended to the restroom. Ultimately, I am giving Crab Stop four out of five stars. I do enjoy a good "mom n' pop" place as I prefer to support local and small, but since this is the only time I went, I can't justify a five-star rating until they prove to be consistent. I will be back as there is another park just south of this business that has geocaches that need to be found AND I may also try to hide a traditional letterbox here. But take note for a local seafood stop, this place is good to go.

Our waiter came across as both rude and inattentive, making us feel more like an inconvenience than paying customers. Basic requests felt like a burden to her, and her attitude only added to the discomfort of the evening. What made matters worse was the restaurant's refusal to close the door, despite strong, freezing winds blowing directly into the dining area. It was genuinely uncomfortable to sit there, and rather than addressing the issue, the staff seemed completely unconcerned. One member of our party actually had to wrap themselves in a blanket just to stay warm, which is something you would never expect to deal with while dining out. As for the food, it didn't justify the price point at all. Everything was noticeably overpriced for what you receive, especially considering the lack of care in both service and atmosphere. When you combine the poor service, uncomfortable environment, and inflated prices, it's hard to find any reason to return. Overall, Waldo's missed the mark in nearly every category. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but this was anything but.

The lounge, located in a separate room, was standing room only. The average age of the crowd was in their mid-60s or 70s, which is likely more typical of Vero Beach than Bobby's in general. We ordered a few things to try including a fried grouper sandwich, a cheeseburger and an order of ribs off the appetizer menu. The grouper was lacking in flavor, but was hot and fresh. The ribs were "fall off the bone" and actually decent. The burger was probably the best of the 3, it wasn't bad at all. Service was fast and she was pleasant. We didn't have to ask twice for anything. One thing I will note, the men's room was dirty, similar to a dive bar's bathroom. Maybe because the place is old and in need of an update but it made me wonder if other parts of the establishment were unclean.

Apparently famous for French dip - I tried it and nothing special but ok and hit the spot. My wife had blackened Salmon which was large and she could not stop overeating it. They are also renown for fresh fish so not surprisingly the Salmon was first class. Separately there is a bar that was full but strangely they had no fraught beer available in the restaurant. Service attentive and would go back again if the opportunity presents between 2 and 5 and could not get into other place.
