Old-school classic restaurant that is always great . Unfortunately they don't take reservations so you need to get there early, but we don't mind because we like to have a drink at the bar. The lemon drop martinis are always on point. Service is really good there this time we had Susie as our waitress and she couldn't have been nicer. They recently changed their bread and they now have rolls and they were delicious! The menu has a variety of seafood and meat dishes. I really enjoy the meat dishes. This visit I had the prime rib, which was delicious, Husband had the ribeye which he really enjoyed. My parents had the seafood pasta special which was really good and loaded with a lot of seafood. Prices are a little expensive however, for every entrée you get two sides, so I think it evens itself out. We didn't have room for it but the desserts there are amazing. read more

Pretty awesome, divey, locals type of spot! Sat up at the bar and had a great conversation with the bartenders. I could tell that this place was full of locals. It was warm and inviting. Loved their Halloween decor as well. We had the clam chowder and a couple of drinks. They were definitely not light on the alcohol pour! Love that! The chowder was decent, but not outstanding. Got there at opening time and was told it was a 2 hour wait while looking at an empty restaurant. They only take reservations for large groups so I am not sure who was going to fill up those small tables. Went to another fine dining establishment 1/2 mile a way and had a fabulous dinner. read more

This place is by far the best restaurant I've eaten at since I moved here. It sits right on the beach with windows that face it so you can see the waves crashing in and the moon over the sea at night. The atmosphere hits you when you walk through the door with the way they have it decorated it will take your breath away especially at Christmas time. Pick from booths, table and chairs, or you can eat at one of the two beautiful bar, it's all good. As for the food Omg every bite is so wonderly delicious for the the main entree to the dessert and, make sure you get one of many deserts. It pricey but, you get what you pay for right,? This place has gone downhill, prices are too high, the quality of the food is gone down. Our server was good but very disappointed with the food. The skewered beef and seafood, there was hardly any meat and seafood, and it was served on cold rice. The tenderloin was ordered medium rare and was brought to the table when the other diners were almost done, it was rare and sent back and came back looking like it was black and crunchy like it was thrown in charcoal, it looked awful and we asked to take it off the bill. The other filet ordered was unseasoned but cooked right. They must cook a bunch of them ahead of time because they are so busy, so they have just been sitting ready to serve so it's not served hot. The blue cheese served with crackers didn't even taste like blue cheese, it must have been mixed with cream cheese to stretch it out, cheap crackers were all broken. Very disappointed with dinner. The only thing they have going is the view if you get a chance to sit by the water. We'll never go back again. A waste of money for sure!! read more

Great atmosphere with lots of people. They took our reservation quickly, and we were put on the wait list. We walked over to the bar and relaxed until our table was ready. We were seated in about 30 minutes. It's not bad for just walking in. Waitress was super nice and explained the menu, and made suggestions. My Filet was perfect to the T. For medium rare, I have not seen better. It was cooked like textbook photos of how a medium rare steak should be. Super soft and delicious. They provided butter as a side, but I drizzled on a light amount. So good. Mashed potatoes. Same as mashed potatoes anywhere. They were good and not dry but mashed potatoes. Surprisingly, their table bread was amazing. Crunchy outer exterior, but SUPER soft and fluffy on the inside. Tried the garlic spread but preferred their normal sift butter more. Great meal for me. The shrimp meal was delicious as well and super flavorful. Excellent shrimp size. Very fulfilling. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area. It has the vibe of upscale, but there were normal practical people there, so we still felt right at home. You can't go wrong with a meal here and an excellent environment for friends or family. First off the ambiance was a quintessential trip into a fun family dining experience. The Halloween decorations were so fun and my kids would totally love this establishment. The bar has some cool views of the ocean along with big windows. Service was expedient and pleasant. Our server was a delight. Food felt over-priced and pedestrian. Unfortunately the $33 lobster roll--with mayo/shredded iceberg base--fell short of everyone's expectations leaving us all a little disappointed. If you are looking for an all around great dining experience, Ocean Grill in Vero Beach has to be on your list. The building that has called home to the Ocean Grill is a unique mix of prize fish trophies, antiques and classic photos with a view of miles ocean right outside the bar and dining room windows. A basket of classic crackers and accompanying butter and blue cheese butter await you in case you quickly need to take the edge off your hunger. The night we ate here, we had escargot, wedge salad, stuffed potato and Cajun grouper. An exceptional meal with wonderfully attentive service. Get there by 4pm to put your name on the waiting list for dinner which begins service at 5pm or you will be waiting for well over an hour. We arrived just before closing time so the bartender was visibly annoyed, but professional enough to fix us a drink and put in our food orders. My orange crush was perfect. This is one of those 'stuck in a timewarp' restaurants that you don't see too often anymore. It's like being transported back into the 1970's when things were fun, cozy and fine dining meant red pleather boots, brass railings and a mebu with French classics like duck and trout almondine. This place is so quirky and unique and cozy, it's no wonder you need a reservation most times! It feels like Starsky and Hutch could come walking in with two blonde dates, wearing bellbottoms and velour shirts with wide collars. Was that Jack Tripper and Mr. Furley in the back kitchen causing mischief? Everywhere you look in this restaurant there is salvaged stuff. Doors, windows, suits of armor, etc. It's so fun just to wander. It reminds me of a more grown up version of The Bubble Room in Captiva, FL. Just a fun place to be and unapologetically old school. Another cool thing ... it's right on the beach and you can watch the waves crashing into the shore from the window seats. (I'd almost rather look at the restaurant!) The menu is pretty vintage/eclectic too. Lots of dishes from past days ... and seafood. They have a local fish special and a lot of other specials. You start your meal with crackers and a homemade cheese spread. Then, the salads with homemade ranch dressing or homemade rocquford dressing come out. Followed by the meals ... I ordered the duck because that is what they are famous for. It's very good! I probably wouldn't order it again but glad I tried their signature dish. Everything else that came out for other diners looked fantastic. I'd love to try the steak or the local fish special next time. The wine list is great and they have a few local beers on draft, which is a plus. They give you a LOT of food and you'll leave stuffed. No room for dessert here. The prices are fairly pricey but you get what you pay for and the food is good and the atmosphere is even better. I can't wait to come back. This might be one of my Top 10 vintage restaurants in the US, up there with Bern's in Tampa, The Bubble Room in Captiva and Musso & Franks or The Tam O Shanter in LA. We went on a Saturday afternoon in July, typically off season and was shocked how busy it was. Must say the restaurant was one of the best run restaurants in Florida. The whole staff was dialed in and worked together as a team. The lunch menu has only a few entrees as would be expected. Prices are fair other than the $7.50 for a Michelob Ultra Draft is outrageous. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with lots of dark woods and some cool stained place. Overall it was a great experience and we'll certainly be back but next time plan to sit at the bar which offers awesome views read more

What a treat! This restaurant caught my eye because of its 80+ year history.. its great location, right on the beach, and it's a local favorite, reservations are a must. Our server, Jill was the best, friendly & very knowledgeable about menu. Everything was delectable, my favorite was the crab au-gratin, omg huge chunks of lump crab meat in a creamy, sherry sauce, did not over power the delicious sweet crab, second fav, stuffed shrimp. Took Mom here for Mother's day and was very hesitant after seeing the prices on the menu; however, sooo worth it! We only had to wait 10-15 minutes to get seated and had great ocean views. Service and food were both 5 stars. The escargot and grouper was amazing, but the star of the show was the Coquilles entree. Oh em gee...pure goodness! I would go back just for this. We had a wonderful dinner here Sunday night. They seated us right away (though pro-tip; if you can get it ask for a window seat. The view of the ocean is lovely!), and our server Lisa was very friendly, attentive, and helpful. I had oysters as an appetizer (I had cut my foot on an oyster shell earlier in the day, and let me say; revenge was very tasty!), the crab au gratin (cheesy goodness!), and the chocolate-chip and Baileys cheese cake (so rich! I had desert for three days!) for desert. Yes, you should always leave room for desert, but they'll also show you a desert tray to re-rev your appetite when the time comes. The food was excellent, the service was excellent, the ambience is eclectic in a good and fascinating way (the restaurant has been there nearly for forever in Florida Years). I even called over a manager Kyle to tell him how we loved our night. Kyle said the only reason he works here at Ocean Grill is to make the customer happy, serve good food with a great experience. Ocean Gill is a really great ocean-front bar and restaurant. The ocean and beach views are dramatic, making a must-place in Vero to visit. They serve lunch and dinner and have a wide varied menu. A full order of shrimp is way overpriced for the few shrimp served. The crab cake was ok but nothing noteworthy. The shrimp salad was a mess. Honestly thought maybe the waitress tripped. Garnished with exactly 2 grape tomatoes, 2 baby carrots and 2 of the smallest wedges of hard boiled egg imaginable. Horrible presentation.
