We had a couples massage in celebration of Nellie's birthday and it was great. The spa is clean and the desk person was helpful and attentive. we both had the 80 min Swedish massage. Cora was my masseuse and Julie was with Nellie. Cora was wonderful. she has strong hands and knows exactly what she is doing. I swear i think i fell asleep twice during the treatment. Nellie told me after that is was one of the better massages she has had. after our treatments we had lunch at Chandlers. the food is pricey, but is was good. we started with sharing a crab and shrimp Louie salad. fresh crab claws and large shrimp. we then had entrees of the crab and lobster tacos and i had the albacore BLT. both were enough to feed the entire family. we had to take some home. our server Eric, was great. he was efficient and helpful. very attentive but not hovering over us. I mentioned it was Nellie's birthday and he brought us a nice piece of cake. now not a small piece you usually get from other restaurants, but a large piece. again, more than we could eat. Eric told me he would keep our food in the kitchen cooler while we were at the pool. that worked out well. another great deal is that with a spa treatment you still have use of the pool. so after lunch we decided to lay out in the sun and take a nap. I highly recommend ocean crest spa and the Chandlers restaurant. Both Cora and Julie were wonderful and i suggest you ask for Cora. we will be back. read more

I had my first ever massage and facial at this location! To be completely honest, if I did not have the 2nd massage booked already, I probably would have never came back or had a massage again. The first massage I had wasn't too comfortable and it sort of felt rushed. I left thinking that was how it was supposed to feel and that maybe it just wasn't my thing. I was sort of disappointed. My 2nd experience was a million times better. The massage was from a different lady and it was a million times better! I felt like I was on cloud 9. My back injuries seemed to subside and melt away, at least for the time being. I had wished I had booked a 2 hour massage! The facial was awesome and my face felt so softest it had ever been! She recommended jojoba oil as a moisturizer for my face (I have dry and sensitive skin that is prone to breakouts) and I followed this. It has been the answer to my years long search to find the right moisturizer! The steam room was great and very relaxing. I will definitely come back the next time I stay here! read more

I bought a Travelzoo to this spa and really enjoyed myself. the facilities are beautiful and well-kept. There is a lovely pool overlooking the Pacific Ocean as well as a relaxation and steam room. The robes are very fluffy and comfortable and there are an assortment of teas and fruits to be enjoyed. The massage itself was on a heated table (yes, I always enjoy this!) and the therapist I had used several bamboo tools to help alleviate tension. My only suggestion to those trying this place out is not to hesitate on requesting how much pressure you like in your massage. I hope you enjoy it like i did :) read more

V is for Valentin and VERY good! I had a 90 min body treatment with Valentin last week and it was wonderful! I was staying at the hotel and in desperate need of some relaxing "me" time. Valentin was just the ticket! The spa is very clean, quiet, lots of relaxing spaces both indoors and out, to use before and after your treatment plus hair and body products to use in the shower if you choose. I had a wonderful, relaxing lomi lomi massage from Charlene. She took time to explain the whole process and made my neck and shoulders feel great! The bonus for me was the warm towels she used to clean my back and feet. There was even a warm rolled up towel for the back of my neck. The whole spa is wonderful, I enjoyed time in the steam room before and after my massage. Park in the garage and they will validate your ticket. read more

I've been to many top spas in the world including La Costa, Red Door, Caesar's Palace, and more. This one is pure luxury. Wonderful facilities, luxurious bathrobes, excellent facial products and scrubs, and the technicians are very well trained. The facial I got was outstanding. The Coconut and Vanilla scrub left my skin smooth and silky for days. The massage that accompanies the scrub was heavenly. I can't say enough good things about this rare jewel of a find. The prices are much less than you'd find at comparable high end places. I'm going back every month! read more

Locker room and massage rooms are very nice, but the lobby/waiting room is a bit blah. Would be great if they had a private pool area for the spa connected to the lounge area, but at least they give you access to the hotel pool area even if you're not a hotel guest. In the end though, it's all about the service you get and my massage was great, I highly recommend Joy! read more

This is a great hotel. We had a great ocean view. A real ocean view. But the spa at this hotel is great. I had probably the best massage I have ever had yesterday. I have had quite a few massages and this was definitely one of th best ever. I had masseuse Christine. She gave me a scrub and massage, that was fantastic. I would go back everyday if I could. I just had a fabulously wonderful Hawaiian Lomi Massage with Liona at the Ocean Crest Spa located in the Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort & Spa. Liona was a great masseuse and afterward I felt so relaxed and thankful for the experience! The human touch is a beautiful thing. The spa within this Hilton is extremely relaxing and well done. The robe provided was very luxurious and the interior design and finishes of this spa lend to the über relaxing vibe. I looked them up on Facebook and got a pre-Black Friday special rate on my massage, which made it even more worth it. The hotel itself is well appointed and newer w/a pool & hot tub, on site restaurant (great breakfasts!), well equipped fitness room (by hotel standards) and our spacious room overlooking the ocean was clean and well designed. I would come back here again and would also recommend this hotel as an ideal spot for a girls getaway weekend! read more

I've been to spas all around San Diego such as Del Mar resort, Coronado hotel, LA Costa, and Carlsbad skinsations, and this one by far beats everything one of those. Diana was my massus. My experience at Ocean Crest Spa was altogether lovely. The facilities are clean, calming, and subdued. Although it is a small spa, I was the only guest at the time of my appointment and enjoyed the privacy. The massage I received from Christine was incredible. I usually request greater pressure or some sort of table adjustment but I had absolutely no complaints and left so invigorated and relaxed. Thank you, Christine, for the amazing experience!! I have been to the Ocean Crest Spa several times now and have always loved my experience. I have had several massages (Aromatherapy, traditional Swedish & Lomi Lomi) as well as the Mini Facial. Would have loved to have had services here during a stay at the hotel but despite 4-5 attempts to call and email the spa to reserve over the course of 2 weeks, I could never get anyone to pick up the phone or return a call. Very strange but probably saved myself disappointment. If you can't even answer a call, relaxation is probably out of the question. Weird! read more

I took my wife for her 74th Birthday to Ocean Crest Spa at the Cape Rey Hotel in Carlsbad. She has several physical problems that made me hesitate to make this appointment, but her therapist Sonya took extra special care to meet her needs and at the same time made her feel very special. I also had a massage with a therapist named Michelle at the same time and it was without a doubt by far the best massage I have ever had. I could not more highly recommend Michelle and Sonya. I'd suggest you ask for them when you book your reservation. You will not be disappointed with your experience at Ocean Crest Spa. read more

Wonderful! Amy was awesome with the lomi lomi 80 minute massage. She took her time and I felt pampered. Hands down one of the best massages I have experienced! Great deals for locals during the week and free valet. Otherwise, it is the about same cost as La Costa resort. La Costa resort does have private pool area and serve food at the spa. The spa is on the newer side and very clean. The only complaint is that they do not serve any food in the spa area, or the outside relation area etc.The pool area is open to the entire hotel and did not want to go hang out with non spa guests and their kids to have lunch. So, I had to leave a bit earlier than I liked. read more
