Stopped here during my 5 hr layover a quick uber ride there from IAD. The place looks like your typical seafood shack. It was very clean, chill environment, and the service was perfect. They had an all you can eat for $58 but I didn't have that type of time, so I settled for the Blue Crab boil. 1/2 lb was 6 crabs and it came with corn and two potatoes. I got mild with all seasonings but then I ordered a side of medium sauce for the kick. The seafood was very fresh and came out nice and hot in a bag. I'm from Texas and Blue Crab is not a staple there, so this Crab fix was just what I needed.

Snow crab legs, whole shrimp, and blue crab

First time trying sea food boil, and it was good! We selected the AYCE seafood boil and ordered a few trays until we were full. The snow crab legs, blue crab, shrimp and green mussels all tasted fresh and the garlic butter, cajun, and lemon pepper medium sauces made the seafood taste extra rich and brought out the natural sweetness. The sausage, corn, and potatoes were flavorful and cooked well. We also ordered some fries and onion rings on the side, which were average. The main focus was the fresh seafood. Servers were attentive and we received our food quickly. Messy, yummy, and fun experience. Would come again!

Bummer to have to give lower than 5 stars for this fave place. Came at dinner time with a group. Host was great. That's where good service ended. Our server was someone I had not seen before and we have been here a ton of times. It was hard to get her attention. I think she was also the bar server and maybe even a manager. There was never an emptying of the super full buckets and we had 2 buckets on the table. We even spilled a glass of water and had to mention it before she even noticed the piles of napkins on the table and floor. We often had to ask the host to get her attention. So this level of service was just the reason for the 2 stars. Food was delicious as always. This time we got the "hot" level spice and that was SO good. Advice: get this you will love the flavor, full of garlic and just the perfect spice. I learned that a lb of Dungeness and a pound of snow was basically 2 clusters each. Next time I may order the AYCE. We also added a pound of headless shrimp. So with 3 lbs in one lab we received a complimentary 1/2 lb of whatever we wanted from the choice of mussels or shrimp. We opted for the green mussels. Everything was great.

Bib and utensils

First of all, a shout-out to my Yelp friend, Lyn L., who told me about Ocean Crab. We tried it recently and were glad that we went. We arrived there for an early dinner, and they were doing a brisk business. A server greeted us. He told us that he didn't have a booth available and asked if a table would be okay. We told him that was fine, and he took us to a 4-top, which gave us room to spread out. I decided to build my own seafood boil, featuring Dungeness crab, crawfish, and a lobster tail. It also comes with potatoes and corn on the cob. For my sauce, I chose garlic butter with mild seasoning. My husband had the fried shrimp and chose coleslaw as his side. After he finished his shrimp meal, he asked our server to bring him some gumbo. We both had soft drinks to drink. My husband actually ordered a Sapporo beer, but the waiter seemed to think he ordered a Pepsi! (It does get loud in the place.) We were given two paper plates, two bibs, plastic forks, two pairs of gloves, and an implement for cracking the shells. I appreciated that! Additionally, a small bucket lined with a plastic bag is used for disposing of shells. As for the food, I liked my boil. The sauce was okay. It did have a bit of kick to it. The corn was tender and flavorful. The potatoes could have been cooked a bit more, but they were edible. My husband enjoyed his food. The gumbo was the star: very flavorful spicy dark sauce with plenty of shrimp, okra, and rice. There were several fried shrimp in his shrimp platter; the dish comes with a ketchup-like sauce. The coleslaw was OK, but could have been a bit creamier. As for ambiance, they strive for a nautical theme. The floors are concrete. It has a crab shack vibe. Entering the shopping center can be a bit tricky. We got here by driving down Centreville Road (which becomes Walney Road once you cross Route 50). After crossing 50, we took the very first right where there is a bank. After turning right and then left, you will find a strip mall shopping center; the restaurant is in the corner on the left. To exit onto Route 50, we had to wait for a break in traffic. During rush hour, you'll have a long wait to enter the traffic.

Came here by myself for some seafood only to find out they offer all you can eat as well. Uh oh...snow crab+all you can eat=Steve sees a challenge. Place was pretty full for a Monday night, but the servers were all pretty friendly. They seated me in the back (probably knew I'd be an embarrassment to my family if they were with me) and this back room was comfortable, but loud. Sat down and ordered water and a beer and looked into how this worked. Pretty simple - order up to three items off the appetizer list, order up to three items on the seafood list, order up to three extras, order your seasoning, and order your level of spice. I ordered hush puppies, crab bites (mini crab cakes), and Cole slaw. Appetizers were small - two hush puppies and two mini crab bites - and were just ok. I started with a tray that included snow crab, blue crab and clams as well as one small piece of corn and some sausage. Clams were small and about half were empty shells. Blue crabs were tiny so my follow up plates were just snow crab. The snow crab was very good...a little on the small side, but I managed. Ordered everything as an Old Bay boil with medium spice. After my fourth tray I called it quits (to be fair, after the first one, the trays were small...2 - 2 1/2 clusters on each tray. Yes, I have the meat sweats as I'm writing this so I guess I ate enough. All you can eat is pricey, $56, so I probably failed tonight, but at least it was a tasty effort.

AYCE

Always a great time at this local seafood place. Yes, there are many of these places throughout the DMV but this one stands out with exceptional service and quality ingredients. Our group of 8 took a chance and bought the AYCE for about $58+. It was the men vs women. I honestly believe that the men ate more than the women. We ate fried and steamed and imbibed on their boozy drinks. A good time was had by all. Jeremy was our server. His excellent and attentive service made the whole experience worth writing about.

Without exaggeration, I had the most satisfying seafood experience of my life at this little hidden spot. The entire staff here is great and the atmosphere is super down to Earth. Come for the food, dig in on the value! I had the privilege of being served by Dillon, who was charming, very respectful & hospitable. Cambria ran some things out to me here and there and she was geat too..! All smiles! 10/10 would recommend.

Found this new seafood broil spot in Chantilly, I've seen it passing by. It is a large establishment. I tried their all you can eat. There are so many options. Seafood: I ordered snow crab legs, blue crab and shrimp. All were very tasty. Appetizers: I also ordered fried oysters- well worth it. The calamari was also good. The cheese stick had a wonderful cheese pull!

Tried Ocean Crab recently and wow -- this place delivered! For $55.99 all-you-can-eat, it's not only a solid deal, but a better value than places like Tasty Crab in Woodbridge ($79.99), and honestly, a better experience too. Let's start with the appetizers. You can order as many as you'd like, which I appreciated -- and even more so, I liked that the portions were smaller. Some places will fill you up with oversized apps to keep you from the seafood, but Ocean Crab keeps it smart. We tried the crab bites, calamari, fried shrimp, and mozzarella sticks. They were okay -- nothing to rave about, but not bad either. But we weren't there for the apps... We came for the seafood -- and they nailed it. The Old Bay / garlic butter combo was delicious. Rich, flavorful, and not overly salty or greasy. They didn't skimp on anything. The crab leg clusters were fat and perfectly cooked -- tender, juicy, and the meat slid right out of the shells (which true crab lovers know is a rare and beautiful thing). The restaurant itself was clean and spacious with a great vibe -- good music, a solid bar setup, and quick, friendly service. Our server was super attentive, and food came out fast, which made the experience feel effortless and fun. We've hit up most of the unlimited seafood spots in the area, and this one is hands-down the best we've been to. If I had to nitpick, I'd say I wish they offered a few more seafood options -- scallops would be a great addition -- but that's more of a suggestion than a complaint. Ocean Crab is officially our go-to from now on. Highly recommend if you're craving great seafood without the sticker shock!

I wanted to get my seafood fix, and we decided to give Ocean Crab a try. Did not disappoint (IMO). For less than $60, AYCE seafood boil (served family style). Located in an interesting shopping center, Ocean Crab is a place to try. Space is large. The decor (I think) was just right. Nico(spelling?) was our server and was great!

Oysters

It was our first time here and we loved it. Very fresh oysters and each seafood on the boil was cook perfectly. Not over or under cooked. We ordered the 2 seafood trays for 6-8 people. We got 2 big trays with a lot of king crab, snow crab, shrimps, mussels, clams and crawfish. Quantity was more than enough for 9. Each tray came with 4 corn pieces and 4 small potatoes, no fillers. We ordered hush puppies and sweet potatoes fries as side dishes. For dessert we ordered chocolate cake, lime pie and cheesecake. Service was great. All the staff came over with two HB signs to blow the candles for my son. Highly recommended.

Our first visit here and it was really good! I'm not a big shellfish fan, but my family is so we figured we'd give this place a try. Overall, it was really tasty, and I think pretty good value for what you get. This was Valentine's Day evening, so I called the day before and was told they were booked out but we could walk in and be on the waiting list to get seated. We arrived at about 5:35pm. The parking lot here is a mess. There's no easy way to turn into it if you're coming westbound on Rt. 50. You either have to turn south onto Walney, and then a right into the Capital One bank parking lot, or turn left on Sullyfield Cir., then left into a back parking lot and then come around to the front. There were cars jammed up everywhere in this lot and I just parked in the Capital One bank lot. We put our name in at the front and they told us the wait would be about 30 minutes. We got a call back in 30 minutes and got seated with no issues. The ambiance is plain. Not fancy, not casual, but...plain. Even if there is a kayak attached to the ceiling. But once you get into the food, this doesn't really matter much. We ordered the Ocean Jumbo ("2-3 people: 3 clusters snow crab legs, 1 lb. headless shrimp, 1 lb. crawfish, 1/2 lb. green mussels, 1/2 lb. clams, 2 corns, 2 potatoes" - $90). We chose the "mix all" seasoning, medium (2 out of 4 spice levels). We also ordered 1 lb. sausage ($10.49), 1 extra order of corn (3 pcs - $3), and a bowl of gumbo ($4.99). They place a sheet of butcher paper on the table, and there's a large tin bucket with a plastic liner there for all your shells and bits. Each place setting consisted of a plastic bib, a pair of plastic gloves, a foam plate, and a plastic fork. The bib and gloves were understandable but I was put off by the foam plate and plastic fork. Near the end of the meal, I realized why they're used. Even if you're a neat eater, your immediate area will be covered with butter/sauce and bits of shells. Shells and other waste get tied up in the plastic bag, and plates and forks go right to the trash. Glass dishes would just be a pain with this type of dining. I WILL advocate, though, for metal forks. Using the tines to break open small crab legs is not easily done with plastic forks. Enough about all this. How was the food? Great! I'll let the photos speak for themselves. It all tasted very fresh and the flavor of the mix sauce was pretty good. It was not very spicy, so I might get Hot (3/4) next time. The Ocean Jumbo combo is just right for 2-3 people. I strongly suggest adding that extra order of corn AND an extra order of potatoes which I didn't get but should have. With so much sea protein and butter on the platter, you'll need some extra starch. The sausage was a great addition as well. The gumbo was alright. Good flavor and spice, but it tasted like it could have been simmered longer to integrate better. Service was pretty good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I'd like to go back to try some of their fried dishes and perhaps limit the boil to just a pile of shrimp.

Is there a time limit for AYCE? I know some do 2 hours etc.

I'm trying to remember. I can't recall if it's 2hrs or 1.5hrs. But I do believe there is a time limit.

What hours are they open? Is the AYCE available all the time or certain times?

Sunday- Thursday: 12-9pm Friday and Saturday: 12-10pm

What's the AYCE price for kids?

It is based on height, I believe. My two kiddos (ages 7 and 10) were charged half price.

I'd definitely come back for the fried chicken, but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for the momos again. Not sure if this is part of the chain's aesthetic, and if it's like this at every location or not... It was even in the bathroom, and clearly people took it too far, because next to the only urinal was a giant "F*** YOU", and it was crossed out by one big line, and not at all removed or attempted to be removed. To me it just seems too chaotic and encourages deviant behavior... This is not somewhere that I would bring my kids or family members, because of stuff like that. The food was ready when I got there, but I still had to stand around for a few minutes before someone finally came along and handed my order to me. I got the Catfish Basket with onion rings. It was about $16. I took the meal home and surprisingly the food was still piping hot when I sat down to eat it. The fish was excellent. There is the comment being made that the food is 'greasy', but I mean, it's fish - and it's fried... what do you expect? ...So, yes, the food was greasy, but that's part of the joy to it. If you want to eat healthy, go to Wegmans or Kroger. The fish was excellent. The breading was crunchy. The fish was soft and tender. No odor. Great seasoning - not too much, not too little. Not spicy at all (trust me, I'd be the first to tell you!) The onion rings were a bit on the less crispy side, not quite soggy, but still delicious none the less. The inner breading was just a bit spongy. They aren't like Outback's fried to a crisp onion rings/petals. The bag contained two moist towelettes and a pair of food grade disposable gloves, for those who indulge in the messiest of foods from here - not for simple fish. Also, when at the counter they wanted to know if I wanted any sauces. I did not, but I appreciated the gesture. I was happy with my service here and with the food overall. The restaurants appeal and decor gets a 5/10, because while the decor was nice and the wood facade of the furniture and structure were great, they were caked in a myriad of profanity and anarchy, as mentioned before about the graffiti-like markings. The food gets a 9/10, while it did have minor issues, it was overall an amazing lunch! The staff gets a 9.5/10 as well - While I was acknowledge once by a passing staff member running food to a table, I still had to wait a little while to be serviced, at the busiest time of day. It's in a newish shopping center, which, for us, had a bonus-- there is a Harris Teeter there. We needed to pick up some items, so we did before having dinner. We were here for an early dinner. Now that it's getting darker so early, we try to avoid driving after dark, when possible. Thus, we were here around 3 p.m. and were glad to see they were serving dinner at that time. To drink, I chose a mocktail called "What a lychee" which consists of "lychee, pineapple juice, club soda". It was garnished with a lychee. I did enjoy this drink. My husband had a non-alcoholic Stella Artois. Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated immediately. Having looked at the menu before arriving, we each knew what we wanted. I chose to try the "Blackened Pan Seared Yellow Fin Tuna" which (supposedly) consists of: "Topped with jumbo lump crab meat, sundried tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, creamy lemon sauce served with rice." My husband chose the "Shrimp platter," which (supposedly) consists of: "crispy beer battered shrimp, coleslaw and chipotle sauce served with hand cut French fries." It took a while for our food to come out. As I was eating, it dawned on me that there was no crab meat or sundried tomatoes. Also, the sauce sure was a creamy lemon sauce. It was more like a miso-flavored sauce. Hard to say if the menu got changed, but no new menus were printed up to fix it. Or was it that the young man who cooked the food wasn't familiar with the entrees? Still, despite the discrepancies, I did like this dish, although it would have been even better if they had prepared it correctly. My husband noticed that there was no Chipotle sauce on his dish. Instead, there were two small containers: one with ketchup and another with tartar sauce. He, too, thought that his shrimp was well prepared, although the breading didn't cling to the shrimp. This experience left us with mixed feelings. On the one hand, we appreciated the friendly, attentive service. Yet, on the other hand, we wonder whether it's worth going again, given the possibility of not getting all the ingredients for one's entree. We liked the ambiance, which evoked images of the beach. They have some nice paintings on one wall depicting the seashore, a lighthouse, and beach houses.

As we were making our way to our table, the owner came by to welcome us, thanked us for coming in. Our server Gabe, immediately greeted us, went over the menu and took our drink orders, and appetizer order. We started with Eggplant Involtini, and the grilled octopus, both were delicious!!! We ordered our entrees, I ordered the eggplant parmigiana, one diner ordered the chicken Limone, and the rest of the table ordered Linguine vognole (clams). Everything was awesome!! Ciao has been around a long time, I'm sorry it took me so long to try this restaurant. This first timer will definitely be returning! If you haven't tried Ciao, get over here right away, you will not be disappointed!!!
