Loved this seafood boil ayce spot! The snow crab was very fresh and the meat was perfectly cooked. The mixed sauce was amazing and worked really well with the corn and potatoes. The margaritas were also sweet and pretty good. The ambiance was normal. There is a convenient sink outside of the restaurant, making it easy to wash your hands without needing to messily use any door handles. The service was a bit lacking when we went. We were one of the last tables left in the restaurant and needed a waiter, but they were all sat at the bar facing away from us. There are a few crab/ seafood boil places to choose from in Northern VA, I would say if you're looking for reasonably priced, fresh seafood Ocean Crab is a great spot! My parents and I came here on labor day weekend and I called beforehand to let them know we might be 15 mins late for our lunch reservation: they were super accommodating and nice about it. The menu comes with either mix and match 1/2 lb or 1lb options + more, or to make it simple: there's also 6 (?) set seafood boil combos, which makes it easy for your to choose your seafood in-a-bag. The flavors are Garlic butter, Cajun, and Lemon. For our combo mussels bag, we choose a mix of all 3 in medium. The snow crab combo that came with shrimp: we choose Garlic butter medium. The garlic butter sauce is SO GOOD HERE!!!! Yes, believe the hype. Probably the best garlic butter seafood sauce I've had at any crab boil place: definitely top in NOVA/DC, and including places I've tried in California, Texas, Las Vegas, etc. We preferred it over the mixed flavor. The staff I noticed was super nice and polite. Everyone working there was really pleasant, which I appreciated a lot. The 2 main servers came to check up on us occasionally. The guy running our food was really chill too and friendly. The atmosphere of the place was laid back. There is a large bar seating area, booths, tables, and 3 separate TV screens playing sports, movies, something for kids, etc. Also random surprise, but the chicken tenders + fries basket was really good. I liked how freshly battered and fried the chicken was; it was juicy, flavored well. It came with cajun fries or a choice of regular fries, sweet potato, corn, etc. TLDR; they offer AYCE seafood at $55-56, but if you're not feeling all-you-can-eat, there's decently priced seafood combos as well. PS: They have a special deal right now that is "Buy 2 seafood combos, get 1lb snowcrab or dungeness crab legs free". Our server let us do 1/2 snowcrab and 1/2 dungeness for free. The seafood has been very fresh and warm when brought out to us. The sides are very good well, they have a variety for you to choose from. a must try is the Crab Bites, literally so good! My husband likes crabs and shrimp, kids loved their fried fish, I just stick to crab legs and sometimes blue crabs. I went with the mix all, AYCE (all you can eat), because it just makes sense. I like their sides of sweet potatoes fries, corn on a cob, popcorn chicken, and hush puppies. Pros - lots of seating areas, fresh seafood, great flavors, great customer service. Cons - crab bites might be my least favorite. Parking can get busy, might have to park a little farther out. Overall, we've been here plenty of times, although it's been a while. Unfortunately, the crab was the worst thing on our all you can eat menu. It tasted awful, like it was on the border of going bad. Truly, a missed opportunity for this restaurant to shine. The fried seafood tasted the best. We enjoyed our fried shrimp and calamari. They were hot and the breading was fried nicely. My daughter in law enjoyed her black mussels and my son liked the Alaskan king crab legs. The all you can eat seafood boil came with corn, sausage, and potatoes. We ordered the fries and they were good. The steamed shrimp were delicious. Our service was excellent. The waiter came over to check on us multiple times and he was very gracious. The space is large and clean. They have a large bar area and three separate dining areas. I don't know about you, but when you are paying $59.00 a person, you expect the food to be excellent and this was definitely just okay. I'm absolutely obsessed with this place for the value. As seafood prices rise, I feel like Ocean Crab has fairly good prices for the value. Then again, I usually prepare myself really well prior to eating at an AYCE spot. There's plenty of spots in this restaurant, with a decent amount of parking too. The staff are really nice. Kim was super helpful and gave this amazing suggestion of trying cajun garlic butter instead of cajun or garlic butter. It was DIVINE. For the AYCE, we went about 4 rounds of snow crab legs and/or crawfish mostly, sometimes indulging in some of the potatoes, andouille sausages, or corn. I loooooove the corn with the cajun garlic butter so much lol. I did see an option to try with ramen and mix it into the dip, so I might try that next time! The snow crab legs are so good and you can easily get the meat out, which is always a good sign for a seafood restaurant. My boyfriend really enjoyed the crawfish, but I usually go to AYCE restaurants for the "higher end" options to get the most value, aka snow crabs in this instance. You can see that people in here are always down for a good time! There's excellent drink options and chill vibes. All you can eat. Basically it is a shrimp boil place with a different vibe. You pretty much all at the tables have to do the same all you can eat menu in order to get served this but you pick the appetizer which includes calamari fried shrimp fried oysters and Cajun fries. Then the next part you pick the actual seafood portions which include black mussels green muscles crab legs full crab etc etc Stand outs to me where the Cajun fries and the oil shrimp. They're shrimp was actually excellent They have head on and also without the head. They're large in size juicy and tendered. I also really like the fried catfish. The real kicker is if you don't finish the food they either will make you finish it or you're going to have to pay and then they toss the food They won't let you take it with them It is a little bit of a bummer. One of my friends got stuck with this cuz they ordered a bit too much and ended up having to shove it down their throats. I don't like wasting food and neither do my friends so it really hurt to feel that but anyway other than that I thought it was a pretty solid establishment. It took a bit of a wait time even with the reservation which I'm not really clear as to why that was happening but they also had pretty good service in terms of clearing the tables. Service with bringing the food took a little bit longer than I thought. Ambience is nice I kind of like the decor it's a very austere vibe. Bathroom was clean. I've been to Ocean Crab twice now and both times I went for the $55.99 all you can eat option. The first visit was just me and one other person, and we went through a bunch of trays. The second time, I went with a group of four and the trays were loaded. We only managed to get through three of the trays. The fried items were tasty, but I wasn't a fan of the gumbo. It lacked flavor and just didn't hit for me. They do pack the trays with a ton of seafood, which makes the price feel worth it. That said, whenever I asked for corn, potatoes, or egg, they only gave two or three pieces at a time. The seasoning is really good when I ask for a mix of everything. The main highlight of the AYCE is the crab legs. It's good quality. Though I can't say the same for the clams and mussels. They were a bit gritty like they weren't washed properly and still had sand in them. The crawfish was just decent. Overall, it's alright. read more

This was a delicious meal, that took an hour and a half and 3 trays of snow crabs, blue crabs and an obnoxious amount of jumbo sized headless shrimp. Even the corn and baby potato's were good dipped in garlic butter! Highly recommend. Was probably the best tasting meal I've had in a while. I give it a 10 out of 10. ... They worked together to create a great dining experience for my friends, and explained the "Make Your Own Boil Deal" that we definitely capitalized on with extra protein. We were all surprised to find the bill was so low for quality that's better than a lot of bigger seafood boils around. We noticed that the 'hot' rounds were significantly more flavorful/ seasoned heavier, so would suggest 'hot' or spicier for more flavor! The server was nice and attentive, the restaurant was an ICEBOX! I was shivering the whole time. The food was so-so. I'm a big crab boil fan and I asked for a mix of seasonings medium spice. The spice level was what I expected but it was pretty bland overall. Also I didn't get sick but I think it was slightly undercooked. Our server was the host, she was blunt and inattentive, our drinks were refilled once in our hour and a half meal, right before we got the check. The music was loud and distasteful. The food was good, and it came out very quick, but the sauce was just smothered and wasn't absorbed into the actual food. While we ate, the five employees passed around a vape at the end of the bar in the dining room. One of them wasn't wearing a uniform at all. Went out here for lunch New Year's Eve 2025 and there were 2 other tables there. Our server was Jimmy (or maybe Timmy). Super nice, patient and helpful. 3 other people and I agreed to do the all you can eat option and jimmy was very kind and thorough and explained to us the sop and rules. 2 important things to know: 1. food will come out in portions according to how many participants and you can always order more in the allotted 2hr maximum 2:The most important one being that any uneaten seafood from the boil will be weighed and charged an additional $15 per pound. With our first round we ordered appetizers (included) fried oysters and fried calamari. Oysters were fine but the calamari was very rubbery. I notified our server and we stopped eating it. It just wasn't worth the stomach space . The boil comes out on a tray but I'd much rather have it in a bag to be able to mix the seasonings up better. I come from Hampton Virginia once a month to go to Kings Spa. I get a Hotel room, and the next day before heading back home, it is an absolute must that I come to ocean crab, because of the food, which is delicious, but even more of the reason is because the customer service is impeccable! I had never been to a seafood boil place that offers AYCE and this is now a new favorite! It's about $60 per person for AYCE but I would say it's definitely worth it. All the seafood we got was very fresh especially the snow crabs and crawfish and they're pretty generous with portions. Though I'm not a huge AYCE person, I would return for an AYCE experience if a group ever wants to go. The service is friendly. The tables are organized and spaced out between groups. The place is kept cool and clean. The bathrooms are accessible and easy to find. I went with the mix all option (cajun, garlic butter, and lemon pepper); however, I might just go with the garlic butter only next time as it's also what my coworkers recommended. Mixing all and getting medium heat, it was kind of too salty for me. Make sure to drink a lot of water to avoid stomach aches from too much sodium. The seafood was cooked to perfection. The crab meat and shrimp were tender and not rubbery. The bag of seafood was seasoned incredibly well. I think I would prefer the potatoes sliced to absorb more seasoning easily, and I found the corn to have a strange chew on it (probably due to it being frozen), but it definitely soaked up the flavor better than potato. The real lowkey star of the show were the "lemon pepper" chicken wings. I don't think we tasted much lemon pepper, but the chicken wings were seasoned wonderfully, fried to perfection, and had an amazing flavor.
