Fish was fresh, nice atmosphere, service was attentive and gave great recommendations.

Haven't had sushi this fresh in a very long time. Finally found my new favorite sushi spot. Will definitely be back again

I was really impressed with ocean code. The fish here is incredibly fresh and the food overall is good. If you check in you get a free beer or soft drink. Easy because I always check in! I sat at the sushi bar and the food came out fast. My friend and I ordered sushi specials with a salmon hand roll and ended up ordering the toro scallion which was the show stopper. I'd definitely recommend it here!

Food was so yummy! One of my absolute favorite sushi spots. Fish is so fresh and the creamy udon is to die for! Recommend almost all the dishes on the menu, minus the poke bowl which was lacking flavor a bit! Space is clean and modern as well!

Grabbed a quick lunch today at Ocean code. The sushi restaurant in a strip mall on old country Road specializes in hand rolls for lunch. I had two hand rolls and an eel bowl. The hand rolls or some of the best I've ever had. The eel bowl was good, but probably wouldn't get it again.

As you can see from my last review in 2024 I love to visit this place every year for my Unagi Don dinner. I was here again by myself. I sat at the bar on the B9 stool. The bar and most of the restaurant was empty when I arrived. Ben the boss came over because Ben recognized me from my prior annual visits. We both love to visit Japan so much of our conversation regarding our many past visits to Japan. Ben mentioned that business has been soft recently due to inflation. I started with and enjoyed my usual two daft Sapporo beers and my unagi don. My total bill was $42.40 excluding gratuity. I will return here again next year for more unagi don. More to come regarding my visit next year.

Really enjoyed our dinner at Ocean Code! My fiancé and I treated my bestie for her bday dinner here. It was quiet for a Sunday evening and stayed pretty empty throughout the entire time we were there. We did the check in for a free yuzu lemonde which was delish! Tasted like moshi. We ordered a bunch of food- three premium sets which came with 6 nigiris and a toro truffle handroll, a sashimi platter, the go north and ocean fair rolls, and a bunch of hand rolls. We reallly enjoyed everything, the hand rolls had seaweed that was super crispy and hefty! Wish this place wasn't as far of a drive because I'd be back more often!

Delicious restaurant in Carle Place! We came here for lunch and enjoyed their hand rolls, chirashi bowl, and udon. The space is beautiful and well spaced. The decor is modern and create a great atmosphere for your dining experience. Food is made with high quality ingredients. Parking is easy with a huge lot. The price is moderate. I would recommend to give this place a try!

Amazing food and drinks! We love it here!! I recommend the handroll sets. The spicy tuna is also great quality

The ambience is very nice. It has a sushi counter and tables for seating. The service was fine. I was in the mood for some sushi (specifically nigiri) and decided to give this place a try. The only option I would try is the premium roll because thats the only sushi with great flavor.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and great service. Highly recommend. The food was very good and came out quickly. If you

Visited with one other person and ordered quite a bit -- every dish was well-prepared and consistent in quality. The filtered water was a small but appreciated detail that set a positive tone for the meal. Food highlights: * Ika Geso Karaage: perfectly crisp with light batter. The onion tartar sauce added a creative and balanced touch. * Fries: straightforward, nicely cooked. * Sushi 10 pc with Salmon Hand Roll: fresh, well-cut fish with clean presentation. The salmon roll had especially excellent texture -- the fish was fresh, slightly sweet, and pleasantly bouncy. * Toro Truffle Roll: standout roll with a great mix of fatty tuna richness and chewy truffle. Generous truffle, which was also appreciated. * 3 Rolls (Tuna, Salmon, Yellowtail): the yellowtail, minced with scallions, had good flavor and texture. * Spaghetti Mentai Aglio Olio: clean, not overly oily, with a subtle spice from the mentaiko -- very well-balanced. Each guest receives an individual plate of ginger and wasabi, both served in generous portions. The ginger leaned on the sweeter side, which complemented the fish nicely. The Iced Yuzu Lemonade was refreshing, bright, and an excellent palate cleanser. Overall, this restaurant demonstrates strong attention to detail -- from the quality of the ingredients to the way each dish is presented. Fresh fish, balanced flavors, and thoughtful touches throughout. Highly recommend.

Loved the vibes, food, and drinks! The server was very friendly and took the time to explain the menu. Honestly, this is some of the best Japanese food I've had so far!

We were a party of three without reservations and were seated right away. We started with chips, guacamole, and the red and green salsas. The chips are more like thin tortillas and were the perfect pairing with a cold beer. For tacos, we tried the duck, pork belly, mojo pork, fish, and chicken verde. The portion size was just right--enough to try a few and still leave full without feeling heavy. The fish taco was one of the best I've had: perfectly crispy with a great crunch, balanced with slaw and sauce. The mojo pork was also really flavorful with a great sauce. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. The only downside was that the bathrooms were a bit messy. On a positive note, we noticed dogs outside, which is great if you're looking for a dog-friendly spot. Overall, great tacos, fun atmosphere, and we'll definitely be back.

Food we got the pan con jamon, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, shisito peppers and the plancha burger. The sangria was very good. Juicy, not overloaded with BS fruit and just very flavorful. The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty. Plancha burger was definitely our favorite. It's a blend of wagyu sirloin and chorizo, so it's very juicy with a nice smokiness. Very pleasantly surprised and definitely will be back to try some other things.

We waited 40 minutes for a table (yes even with a reservation), and had to go up to the hostess stand multiple times to get any sort of update. Understandable it's busy on New Year's Day, but we've never had this issue before and 40 minutes feels really long, we could have had our entire meal and left by that point. On top of that we were jammed packed in with multiple other families who were also waiting for a table and it was very uncomfortable. We decided to wait it out because typically we really love this place, and we have been coming here every New Year's Eve for four years straight. Obviously this restaurant has gone downhill severely. To top it off the manager was telling people how on Mother's Day they had 100 no shows, implying they over booked and let their customers pay the price. Which fine, it's a restaurant thing to overbook just in case, but to inconvenience your customers this way is not okay. When we finally got the table and wanted to sit down we were scolded by the busboy for attempting to sit when we were told by the manager we could, even though it wasn't fully ready yet. So we then saw the table next to it was nearly fully prepared and asked if we could just sit down there. The assistant manager was annoyed by us and asked for us to wait for silverware, but after 40 minutes we were desperate to sit, so we said we didn't mind if they prepped around us and politely begged to just sit down since we had been waiting so long. Finally he just gave us an exasperated "Fine!" and we sat despite the horrific attitude of the staff. We really weren't trying to be difficult, there was barely any room in the waiting area and we were just hoping to get out of the way after waiting so long and two of our family members needing to stand that entire time. The food wasn't great this time around, very unseasoned. It seemed rushed, without thought, and it took forever to come out. Service was incredibly slow, but due to no fault of our server. They had left their staff to pick up the pieces as they were obviously overwhelmed and it took a long time to get any service. It was such a disappointment as it is usually a favorite spot to go with prompt service. In the end the manager did nothing. We thought for sure he would comp something because he knew we had to wait very long, especially when we had other plans New Year's Eve, but he didn't even come up to us and apologize. He also knows we have been coming here for years, we told him that it's a tradition, so the way we were treated was so upsetting. Our waiter instead had to apologize even though it wasn't his fault at all, and nothing was comped from our meal. I would have appreciated if the manager apologized and did something to make up for the horrible experience on a major holiday. I wouldn't have written this review if he did the right thing and apologized, but he couldn't even do that. After many years of coming here I can't recommend it anymore. The management obviously has no care for their loyal customers and the food has only gotten worse over the years. Avoid it.

All the fish was fresh, flavorful and higher than average quality. We met the owner, Mr. Kay and shared conversation about Japan. The staff was warm and personable. We enjoyed our dinner thoroughly and will be back for the miso black cod and hamachi kama next time. Dinner for 4, no drinks, about $200 all in, more than fair, about 35% less than the same experience in Manhattan. Looking forward to coming back, just to see Mr. K., oh and the sushi is great too.
