I talked with Nancy several times before our arrival and who was always very friendly. She called me with my site number before we arrived so we could pull directly to our RV spot. There are two restaurants within easy walking distance. The causeway to the beach is one block away. The park is very simple, gravel/sand drives. Florida grass spaces with a concrete pad. No picnic table. very basic. We did not use any of the restrooms/showers. The park is close to a train track but after a day or two we didn't really notice them. We had a space on the road with a view of the Indian River. We loved it and will diffidently return again.

He then directly shut off my electricity illegally and gave me three days to vacate. We stopped by on a weekday and the park was pretty and relaxing. Not too many people on the couple of trails we did. The observation tower is closed but they still have a nice boardwalk up to that area that makes for a great walk! It's pretty highly elevated for Florida - kind of impressive in person! Entry is $6 per car, and the lady provided a map and recommended her favorite trail. We checked that trail out as well (the white trail), but the height of the observation tower trail was really the star! We decided to drive around after doing both trails, and we saw their campgrounds. So surprising at how busy this place was! It seemed there was hardly an empty spot! Must be a happening place to camp! We'd definitely return for more adventures, as this is a cool park!

They gave one ridiculous violation because the house number on trash bin (which is 1 on the house and 2 on the trash bin on ground) had been sun bleached out but the number on the house was CLEARLY readable. ​This place is ruined by the rude snowbirds. Rude security staff (except Brooke she is amazing) they gave anyone who came out a hard time. We called everyone in even had to call in doordash bc they wouldn't let them come in. All together the only thing worth it out there is the views and amenities at the clubhouse. The people act like pure trash to anyone they don't deem old enough for "their island." They even threw a fit for owners trying to Airbnb their homes when they were not in town God forbid they stayed less than 1 month at a time. Can't wait for the old stuck in their ways people to die off and stop discriminating against "young people". The snowbirds were the worst there the mindset is its mine and you shouldn't be here even though my husband and I were residents year round. 100% reason why we didn't purchase a place out there. Stop discriminating and MAYBE they can be seen as great place. ​

Blowing Rocks is an amazing natural look at what the Florida Shoreline should look like. We walked about 10 minutes over the long wooden bridge leading from the park to the beach. It was so clean and calm, a welcomed break from the crowds of the popular touristy locations. Perfect for relaxation. The water was perfect a temperature and clear. They say these are the perfect days and they may be for most but I consider myself an in-perfectionist so the foot prints that stain the sand and the confusing weaves of the man-groves that border the dunes providing shelter for the innocent creatures is what stirs me. The boardwalk was closed for repairs so we had to walk thru the sand with our stuff (coolers etc). Part of the beach was on a small like hill, you had to jump down to get towards the water which was annoying. The beach was filled with seaweed. I did like there was a lifeguard on duty. It wasn't crowded for a Sunday. Probably won't be back to this one.

The staff are ok but the restaurant needs to be reopened. When local resident and entrepreneur, Mr. Jim Sheehan developed the business 20 years ago, he built the campground and also rented out lake side cabins. Better than RV camping!! Alas, Hurricanes Francis and Charlie chewed up the entire area, including all his beautiful wood cabins and even damaged the huge Herbert Hoover dike ( in 1930's) which surrounds the entirety of Lake Okechobee. There are a couple of the cabins still available for rent, through Airbnb.
