What does a California girl do when she has no idea where to stay halfway between Boyton Beach and Orlando, Florida? She turns to Yelp to find a charming little beach town with good food, nice folks and clean rooms. Bingo! That's where we found Jensen Beach Inn. Owned by an adorable and friendly couple, the Inn is the oldest structure in Jensen Beach. It was mostly destroyed by a hurricane, rebuilt somewhat by a former owner, repossessed by the bank and then bought by the current owners who made it into the charming hotel and restaurant it is today. The rooms are named, themed, large and tastefully decorated. We stayed in the gater room named after the gater mural on the wall. It was a little creepy having that gater stare at me all night, but he was inspirational for dinner. If you haven't tried gater, you should!! They have old time keys to let you into the secured area from off the street. A short climb up the stairs and you are at your suite. There's a community kitchen where you will find nice treats from bananas to coffee. Each room gets a breakfast basket in the morning, found in the kitchen fridge, and labeled for the room that contains all kinds of yummy goodies! There's also a main sitting area and a rooftop seating area where you can listen to the music from the neighboring bar while drinking wine. Just head downstairs to the restaurant to grab a bottle. They'll give you glasses to take upstairs with you. Speaking of the restaurant, they have breakfast, lunch or dinner. We had a dinner that consisted of scallops accompanied by a delicious bottle of red wine. Very nice! The bartenders were entertaining and the local were super welcoming. We felt very at home through our entire visit. Parking is limited, but reserved for hotel guests. One word of advise for those who sleep lightly - bring ear plugs. The train tracks are close by and trains run throughout the night.

With me traveling a lot, I counted on them to keep a good working relationship with the tenants, take care of any needed repairs, and keep the accounting books in order. Debbie calls me on a Saturday my first day on property complaining how early she woke up that morning to do work after we just drove overnight to get to our new place and then adds to not ever contact them on the weekend. Allie takes weeks to contact owners for repairs. Jillian continuously contacts us for forms that were electronically signed and sent back via her own e sign companies of choice saying she didn't get them yet the recipes were also generated she missed. ALL of the various contractors who have come out know this company to be difficult in handling work orders and requests. Even the neighbors gave us a heads up about how ridiculous they conduct 'business' after we moved in. They lack communication between themselves and are frustrating to deal with. They use texting as a main form of communication which is fine but contradict themselves in the treads regarding almost everything. As a renter I will be sure not to rent any properties in the future from these people and as a past home owner/future home owner I would never let them manage my properties. Home owners may make money here but if you want happy renters - or are renters this is one of the worst companyI have ever come across many states.

That was a letdown. Also, I had a situation that needed attention, I reached out to Marilyn, however my email, voicemail and text were ignored. She never addressed it at all. We came back to the room one day and Marilyn was upstairs. I went upstairs to introduce myself and she was shutting the door to another room in the hall knowing I was coming up the stairs. I said Hi, are you Marilyn and she poked her head out and said yes, I don't have a bra on. OK, that was quite awkward. She never made an attempt to come introduce herself to us. Never let us know that no breakfast will ever be served. She should've let us know how to go about using the bikes and or kayaks that are supposably there for guest use. On a positive note, we absolutely loved the area. There are lots of walkways, a park, the water, and restaurants. The porch was a pleasure to sit and relax. There are 2 community refrigerators and a nice coffee/tea maker. The home itself looks nice but not welcoming to guests that might want to sit in the living room to get out of their little room for a bit. Overall, I would not stay there again. If Marilyn doesn't want to run the home anymore, she should hire someone to run it. Seemed to me that she had no interest in making us feel welcome. Also, I saw her outside the home as I was preparing to leave at checkout at 11:00. I mentioned to her that our flight was not until 7:30 that evening. She tells me there is a Top Golf near the airport that we can go hang out in. A welcoming person would've said you are welcome to hang out on the porch if you would like. We were the only guests in the home the entire 5 days. I needed to go back on the porch as I forgot something, and the keypad already had us locked out at 11:02. Not welcoming at all. I gave it 2 stars for the location. The place has a lot of potential and could've been such a better experience. Luckily for us, we know how to enjoy ourselves wherever we go. We had a great time exploring Stuart, Jensen Beach, Fort Pierce, Port St Lucie and Fort Lauderdale. Florida is beautiful.
